Passed suddenly away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on October 22, 2007, Lou Bailey of Burin in his 61st year. Leaving to mourn wife Evelyn, daughter Cara Grondin of Calgary, sisters Magdalen and husband Joe Pittman and Vonnie and husband Len Kelly plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by parents Mary and Joseph and brothers Tom and Gerard. Funeral service was officiated by Father Theodore O'Connor from St. Patrick's Parish Church, Burin on Thursday, October 25, 2007 with interment following at RC Cemetery, Salt Pond. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin on October 25, 2007, George Edward Baker of Epworth in his 93rd year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Hazel, sister in law Elsie English of Belleville, Ontario plus a large number of nieces and nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Rev. Mary Harris at Epworth United Church in Epworth on October 28, 2007 at 2:00 pm. Interment followed at United Church Cemetery in Epworth. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Friday, October 19, 2007, Richard Barry of Marystown in his 93rd year. Predeceased by wife Rita (Dober), grandson John Richard Lee Dober, brothers: Nicholas, William, Edward, James and John, sisters Jane, Margaret, Elizabeth and Julia. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons: John (Ruby), Hubert (Aubrey), Alonzo (Cecile), Thomas (Deborah), and Keith (Monica); daughters Frances (Scott), Tuffenell, Lillian (Frank) Berger, Doreen (Howard) Blagdon, Theresa (horatio) Cluett, Marie Barry, Carol Sue (Gerry) Barry, Barbara (Wayne) Barry, Brenda (Ernie), Hrywkiw, and Bridget (Jason) Roberts, 36 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, Rosalie Lillian Bonnell, formerly of Taylor's Bay, age 83 years. predeceased by parents Augustus and Dinah Hillier, husband Fred, son Edgar and granddaughter Annette. Leaving to mourn: 7 children: Rita (Bill) Warren at Grand Bank, Eric (Ellen) at Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Marie (Bill) Hamlyn at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Fred at Marystown, Wallace (Jean) at Marystown, Alfred at Marystown and Leonard (Daphne) at Little Bay; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Monica at Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. Passed peacefully away at the Chancellor Park St. John's on October 7, 2007, Randolph M. Emberley of Grand Bank, age 91 years. Predeceased by brothers Garfield, Wallace and Frederick; sisters Blanche and Matilda. Leaving to mourn wife Ella, seven sons Carlson (Ann), George (Judy), Gary (Ernestine), Randy, Roger (Linda), Rodney (Sue) and William (Sharon); eight daughters Phyllis (Dave), Joyce (Herman), Jane, Pamela (Lowell), Helen (Roy), Ruth (Carl), Lorraine (James) and Miriam (James) 41 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted from Grand Bank United Church by Rev. Lewis E. Crewe at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 10th. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Grand Bank. Passed away suddenly at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Thursday, October 11, 2007, Marcella Lynette Feltham of Grand Bank, age 64 years. Predeceased by mother and father Dorothy and Eugene West and brother Kelvin West. She leaves to mourn; husband Bruce; 2 sons Kelvin at Grand Bank and Steward at St. John's; 4 sisters Florence Smith (John), Ellen Thomasen, Ada Perry (Wilson), all at Grand Bank, and lugene Hillier (Charles) at Lamaline; step-sister Margaret (Tom Edwards) at Fortune; sisters-in-law Audrey Tate at Glovertown, Katie (Guy Bartlett) at King's Point, Nancy (Harry Gendson) at Trinton, Ontario; brothers-in-law Ross Feltham (Anguss), Bill Feltham (Edith) and Stan Feltham (Dorothy) all at Glovertown; special niece and nephew Kira and Jonathan Grandy; special friend Sandra Warren and her pet "Toby". (February 7, 1941 - October 13, 2007)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin peninsula Health Care Centre on Saturday, October 13, 2007, Shirley Fox of Grand Bank age 66 years. Predeceased by mother and father Annie and Frederick Walters and sisters Amelia and Georgina. She leaves to mourn husband Elmer and son Roy at Grand Bank; sisters Ruth Sheppard at Fortune and Marie Etheridge (Richie) at Labrador; brother Les Walters (Linda) at Salt Pond, Burin; mother-in-law Eva Welsh at Grand Bank; nephews Marvin Welsh, Barry Welsh and Bill Welsh. GRANDY, Mattie Thelma - 93, of Kingston, formerly of Halifax, passed away Friday, October 5, 2007 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Garnish, NL, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas and Lucy (Day) Walters and is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mattie enjoyed walking, knitting and crocheting. She appreciated the help and company of her many friends and neighbours. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who always delighted in the visits from family members. She is survived by daughter, Margaret Thelma (Wayne) McCallum, Bible Hill; sons, Bruce (Myrna Gail) Kingston; William "Bill" (Josephine), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Cynthia, Michael, Anthony, Lisa, Robert, Wade, Aaron,Ryan and great-grandchildren, Brent, Zachary, Sydney and Samantha. She was predeceased by husband Philip "George", sister Nellie Taylor, brothers, Eugene Walters and William Walters. Visitation was held 2-4 pm Monday, October 8, 2007 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, (902)825-3448, where the funeral service was held 11:00 am, Tuesday October 9, 2007. Rev. Passed peacefully away at her home in Marystown on October 9, 2007 Caroline Hodder of Creston South in her 82nd year. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care, Burin on October 3, 2007, Leah Frances Hodder of Creston South in her 87th year. Predeceased by husband Walter, son-in-law Reg Lockyer, granddaughter Debbie Kirby, grandson Rodney Hodder, sisters Minnie Clarke, Selina Cleal, and brothers Charles Hooper and Stephen Hooper. Leaving to mourn her loving son Ralph (Vera) of Creston South; daughters: Elizabeth Lockyer, Winterland; Elsie (Sam Hodder) of Creston South; Evelyn (Neil Kirby) of Collins Cove; Beulah (Simeon Tucker) of Creston South, special granddaughter Brenda Hodder, 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. HODDER, Lily Myrtle Olga (nee Brown)
(April 14, 1921 - October 17, 2007)

Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family at Hoyles Escasoni, a strong, independent lady, loving wife, wonderful mother and inspiring grandmother, Olga Hodder, age 86 years, of St. John's. Predeceased by her husband Raymond of Creston South, sister Winnifred (Stanfield), brothers Everett, Al, Eric, Doug, Jack and Cyril Brown and good friend and sister-in-law Isobel Brown. Leaving to mourn with fond and cherished memories, a large family; children: Ronald (Stephanie), Marie Vardy (Cal), Jim (Carolyn), Yvonne Dawe (Jack), and Dan (Joanne Hanrahan); grandchildren: Chris, Rod, Pamela, Veronica, Ian, Joshua, Rachel, Leah, Ray, Adam, Melissa, David and Billy; eight great-grandchildren who always brought a smile to her face. Also left with fond memories sister Ruby Perry (Ches) and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends in St. John's, Corner Brook, Creston South and the United States. Special thanks to staff and doctors of 2 North and 3 West and East Escasoni for their wonderful care and loving manner during Olga's time with them. Passed peacefully away at the US Memorial Health Care Centre St. Lawrence on Friday, October 5, 2007, Rosetta Kelland of Grand Bank, age 77 years. Predeceased by parents Bernard and Mary Foote; son Bill. grandson Joey; and grand-daughter Judy. She leaves to mourn: husband Eli at Grand Bank; 7 sons Reg (Sueann) at Paradise, Jack (Trif) at Grand Bank, Wayne (Brenda) at Grand Bank, Earl (Sharon) at Grand Bank, Gary (Joan) at Mount Pearl, Henry (Cathy) at Grand Bank and randy (Janice) at Mount Pearl; 4 daughters Judy (Wally Stone) at Grand Bank, Patsy (Melvin Cox) at Grand Bank, Eileen (Wilson Kearley) at Fortune, and Lorraine (Keith Cooper) at Green's Harbour; daughter-in-law Betty Kelland at Grand Bank; 22 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Richard Foote (Mae) at Grand Bank and Bill Foote (Linda) at Gander; 2 sisters Martha (Joe Hillier) at Fortune and Mary (Ed Skinner) at Grand Bank. He leaves to mourn three daughters Beverley Brooks (Glynn) at Grand Bank; Vera Myles (Edward) at Frenchman's Cove; Trudy Loveless (Geoff) at Burin; four sons Sterling (Lavina) at Grand Bank, Clifford (Marlene) at Fortune; Ford (Donna) at Grand Falls; Tony (Tammy) at Lunenburg, nova Scotia; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother Norman (Marion) at Seal Cove; five sisters Dulcie Loveless (Garfield) at Seal Cove; Hilda Loveless (Clayton) at Seal Cove; Margaret Rideout (Allan) at Seal Cove; Helen Langdon at Seal Cove; Mary Winsor (Lorne) at Grand Falls. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Majors Ross and Doreen Grandy from the Salvation Army, Seal Cove, Fortune Bay on Friday, October 5th a 2 pm. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Seal Cove. Music was provided by the Salvation Army String Band, Seal Cove. Pall Bearers were: Sterling Loveless, Clifford Loveless, Ford Loveless, Tony Loveless, Sheldon Loveless and Glenn Brooks. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank: "Where Dedicated People Care."

Leaving to mourn husband Columbus, father Howard Lambe, daughters Amanda and husband Wayne Manning of Cold Lake, AB. Alicia and boyfriend Ray Guilleminot of Lawn and Allison and boyfriend Jeremy Brenton of Lawn; sister Christina and husband Ernest Drake of Lawn, Joanne Strang of Lawn, Sharon and husband Jim Drake of Lawn, Jackie and husband Wayne Drake of St. Lawrence, Dana and husband Todd Drake of Lawn, Connie and husband Charles Fitzpatrick of Lawn and Anne-Marie and husband Otto Tarrant of Lawn; brothers Gordon Lambe and wife Meline of Lawn and Howie Lambe and wife Bonnie of Lawn; sisters-in-law Creusa Roul of Lawn and Laurella Stacey and husband Ted of St. Lawrence; brothers-in-law Tom Roul and wife Elsie of Brampton, Randy Roul and wife Merle of Brampton and John Roul and wife Darlene of Gander plus a large circle of other family and friends. predeceased by her mom Alice Lambe. Passed peacefully away at the U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre in St. Lawrence Tuesday October 16, 2007, Dora Tarrant of St. Lawrence in her 83rd year. Predeceased by husband Joseph; parents William and Martha Fitzpatrick; brothers William and Ignatius; sisters Martha, Elizabeth and Agnes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughters Florence Tarrant of Halifax, Agnes Marie Tarrant (Harling Park) of Hong Kong, and Donna Tarrant of Dalian, China; sisters Mae Fitzpatrick at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, Moira Slaney of St. Lawrence and Florence Dyett at Pearl House, Mount Pearl; grandchild Cole James Park of Hong Kong; special niece Elizabeth Ford, nee Lake, (husband Albert); great niece Stephanie Ford; great-nephew Sean Ford plus a large circle of relatives and friends.Funeral mass took place at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church October 18th at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Mt.
