ANTLE, Clayton John
March 8, 1932 - October 3, 2003

Passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care on October 3rd Clayton Antle of Mortier in his 71st year. Predeceased by father Felix, mother Johanna, brothers Edward and Felix and sister Pauline. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Carmel; son Gary of Mortier; daughters Pauline (Glen Kirby) of Mortier; Brenda (Don Brewer) of Ottawa and Joan (Craig Hollett) of St. John's; grandchildren Lyndsey, Courtney (Gary), Bradley (Samantha), Jason (Pauline) and Miranda (Brenda); brother Verner (Myrle) Antle; sister Sheila (Tom Donahue) and sister in law Adelaide (Felix Antle) plus a large circle of other family and friends. Sister Theresa officiated funeral service from St. Patrick's Parish Church on October 8th with interment following at RC Cemetery, Fox Cove. Pallbearers were Tom Coady, Tom Roff, Terry Beaton, Dominic Lambe, Pius Antle and Pat Kavanagh and crossbearer Kandis Stoddard-Brushett. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home. "WE CARE."

AYLWARD, Maude
Passed peacefully away at the Leonard A. Miller Centre on Tuesday, September 30, 2003, Maude Aylward, in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon in 2000. Leaving to mourn with treasured memories her 10 children: sons: Brian (Gail) of St. John’s, Gordon (Sonny)( Joan Marie) of St. John’s, Ron (Dorothy) of Marystown; daughters: Patricia Kieley of St. John’s, Barbara Aylward of St. John’s, Joan Upshall (Willis) of Whitbourne, Margaret Healey (Stephen) of Goose Bay, Judy Gorich (John) of North Carolina, and Gwen Maguire of Torbay. Lovingly remembered by her 26 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren as well as many other friends and relatives, especially Fintan and Ann Aylward, Margaret Aylward, Madelyn Cotter and Frances Aylward. Rested at Caul’s Funeral Home with visitation of Tuesday, Sept. 30, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1st, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Funeral Mass was held at Pius X Church on Thursday, October 2 at 9:45 a.m. Cremation followed.

BARRON, Patrick
Passed peacefully away Oct. 4 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Patrick Barron of Rushoon. He was 63 years old. Predeceased by William Lake. Leaving to mourn his loving mother Margaret. Also leaving to mourn sister Shirley Lane (husband Sam) and family; brothers Raymond Lake (wife Irene) and family, Peter Lake (wife Nora) and family, Arch Lake (wife Alice) and family, Jim Lake (wife Bonnie) and family and John Lake; 15 great-nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Carm Whiffen, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Steve Murrin conducted funeral mass at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, Rushoon Tuesday, October 7. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Rushoon. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Jim Lake, Arch Lake, Shannon Lake, Peter Lake, Gus Lane and Raymond Lake. BRAKE, Regina M.
Passed peacefully away Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Regina M. Brake of Marystown. She was 67 years old. Predeceased by husband Pius. Left to mourn are daughters Ramonda (husband Neville Walsh) of Toronto, Ontario and Nicole (husband Derek Fudge) of Marystown. Also leaving to mourn sisters Bride Hennebury (husband late Lester), Essie Keane (Dick), Mary Ledwith (Peter), Marg Isaacs (Reg), Helen Fitzpatrick (Art) and Vera Myles (Rick); brothers Joe Murray (Priscilla), Tom Murray (friend Cathy Bobowski, predeceased by wife Doreen), John Murray (Mireille), Frank Murray (Anna) Ray Murray (Pat), Gerard Murray (Chantal), Larry Murray (Gladys), Mike Murray (Norma), Tim Murray (Gladys) Jim Murray (Cathy) and Gord Murray (Marjorie); grandson Robert, a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Pallbearers were Joe Murray, Jim Murray, Mike Murray, Gord Murray, Larry Murray and Tim Murray. Cross bearer was Tom Murray.

FARRELL, Mary Ann
Passed suddenly away at her home Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, Mary Ann Farrell of Little Bay. She was 78 years old. Predeceased by husband Valentine in 1975. Left to mourn are sons Valentine Jr. (wife Joan) of Torbay and Don (wife Eleanor) of Gander; daughters Susanna (husband Kevin Glavine) of Marystown and Mary Myrtle (husband James Brushett) of Little Bay. Also leaving to mourn sisters Violet Kilfoy, Bridget Kilfoy and Hannah Ryan; brothers Stan (Florence) and Edward (Isabelle); 11 grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown Saturday, Oct. 18. Interment was at Roman Catholic Cemetery, Little Bay. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Junior Farrell, Johnny Farrell, Ivan Kilfoy, Adam Glavine, Kevin Glavine and Jimmy Brushett. Cross bearer was Evan Farrell.

FITZPATRICK, Michael
Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Saturday, Oct. 11, Michael Fitzpatrick of Marystown, formerly of Bay du Nord, in his 88th year. Predeceased by brothers William, Reginald, Austin, Thomas and sister Bridget Farrell. Leaving to mourn are his loving family of nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Marion Fitzpatrick (Grand Falls-Windsor) and his many dear friends. Funeral Liturgy was held from Carnell's Chapel, St. John's Tuesday, October 14. Interment was at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery St. John's. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Pallbearers were Justin Brenton, Glen Hodder, Mark Kennedy, Wade Hodder, Donald Fitzpatrick and Augustine Fitzpatrick. Cross bearer was Amanda Kennedy.

KING, Aubrey
Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Thursday, October 9/03, Aubrey King of Grand Bank in his 79th year. He was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy, WW11. He leaves to mourn - devoted wife Ann of Grand Bank - 2 daughters - Marie (Gord) Hickman of Burin and Sharon (John) Griffin of St. John's - 2 sons - Berrick (Elizabeth) King of Marystown and Jim (Joanne) King of Grand Bank - 9 grandchildren - 3 great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Ray Case on Saturday, October 11/03 at 2 p.m. from Warren's Funeral Home. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Grand Bank. Organist was Betty Rogers. Pallbearers were: sons - Berrick King, Jim King; sons-in-law - Gordon Hickman, John Griffin, grandsons - Steven King, David King. Funeral arrangements by Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank. "Where dedicated people care."

LUNDRIGAN, Grace Marion
Passed away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on October 3rd Grace Marion Lundrigan in her 71st year. Predeceased by mother Marjorie, father Robert and son Richard. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories husband Richard; sons Eric (Marjorie), Robert (Karen), Richard (Alisa) all of Little St. Lawrence and Carey and finance Julie; daughters Mabel (John McLachlan) of Salt Pond, Marion (Peter Roul) of Little St. Lawrence, Laura (Dan Andrews), Donna (Troy Landry), Diane (Frank Renz) all of Ontario; 16 grandchildren; brothers Walter Mayo (Eliza), Herbert Mayo (Netta) and Calvin Mayo (Theresa) all of Creston South; sisters Mabel (Clyde Coles) of Ontario, Judy (Al Robichaud) and Vera (William Mayo) both of North Bay plus a large circle of other family and friends. Father Puddister officiated funeral mass from St. Thomas Aquinas Parish Church, St. Lawrence on October 8th with interment following at Mount Cecilia Cemetery, St. Lawrence. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE."

MAYO, Maude Hilda
Passed away at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Sept. 28th, 2003, Maude Hilda Mayo of Creston South, NL in her 88th year. Predeceased by husband – Joseph; son, Curtis; brother, William. Leaving to mourn: Sons: Joseph Crewe (wife Mary) of Harbour Mille; Edgar Mayo of Calgary, Alb. Step-son: Cecil Mayo of Halifax. Step-daughter: Rebecca Martin (husband Augustus Martin) of Black Duck Cove, NL. Sister: Jessie Blackmore – Halifax. Four grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral Services were conducted by Rev. Oscar Elms at Calgary United Church in Creston South, NL on October 1st at 2:30 p.m. Interment was at Calgary United Cemetery in Creston South. Donations may be made to Calgary United Church, Creston South, NL Pall bearers were: James Hooper, James Martin, Wade Pardy, Frank Wiscombe, Gerald Barter, and Steven Pike. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, Catherine (Kate) Parsons of Marystown. She was 50 years old. Predeceased by father Celestine Power. Left to mourn are son Leon (wife Jacelyn) of Winnipeg, Manitoba; daughter Serina and mother Magdalene of Marystown. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Monica (Morgan Hannam) and Magdelene (Chester Crocker); brothers Tom (Mary Power), John (Joan Power), Anthony Power and Wayne (Cindy); one grandchild and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown Saturday, Oct. 25. Cremation followed. Passed peacefully away at U.S. Memorial Hospital, St. Lawrence, NL on Oct 20th, 2003, Ethel Pike of St. Lawrence in her 94th year. Predeceased by husband Malcolm, son Carman, granddaughter Pamela, grandson Brian Farrell and son-in-law Fred Farrell. Leaving to mourn Children: Malcolm (wife Joan) of Toronto, Les (wife Audrey) of British Columbia, Albert (wife Helen) of St. Lawrence, Ruth (husband Doug) of Toronto, Dorothy, Toronto; Ralph (wife Margaret) of Burin, Grace (husband Harry) of Toronto, Ruby (husband Carlson) of Burin, Emily (husband Michael) of Toronto, Lorne (wife Madeline) of St. Lawrence, Kevin (friend Daisey) of St. Lawrence; Sister: Clara Lawrence in English Harbour West; 27 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral Services were conducted by Rev. Berdina Ford at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in St. Lawrence on Oct. 23rd at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at Anglican Cemetery in St. Lawrence. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre after a short illness, Gertrude W. Power of Little Bay. She was 82 years old. Predeceased by husband Leo J; parents Ernest and Cecilia Walsh; daughters Cecilia Murphy and Mary Power; sister Loretta Grant; brother Moses Walsh; son-in-law Garry Brake and grandson Moses Power Jr. Left to mourn are sons Mose (wife Genny) of Holyrood, Leo (wife Lucia) and Ernest Power, both of Surrey B.C.; daughters Mary (husband Eugene Whaling), Joan (husband Jerry Mezenberg) of Stratford, Ontario and Edna Brake of Little Bay. Also leaving to mourn sisters Ernestine (Claude Trambly), Leona Fleming and Cecilia (Stewart McInne); brother Ernest (Marjorie Walsh); sister-in-laws Sr. Madeline Power, Dorothy Power, Patricia Hanrahan, Eileen Simms, Roseanne Vardy and families; special daughter-in-law Joan Power; brothers-in-law Al Grant, Gerald, Maurice, George, Albert Power and families; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. ROGERS, Frederick
Passed away at U.S. Memorial Hospital, St. Lawrence, NL, on Sept. 27, 2003, Frederick Rogers of Creston South, NL in his 89th year. Predeceased by wives – Edna & Beulah, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 granddaughter Winniebell Emberley. Leaving to mourn sons: Reuben (wife Violet) of Creston South; Gerald (wife Donna) of Cape Ray. Daughters: Caroline (husband Roland Stuckless) of Deer Lake; Eileen (husband William Emberley of Creston South. Sister Rita Farewell at Mount Margaret Manor, St. Lawrence. Sisters-in-law Pearl Rogers, Creston South; Martha Farewell, Creston South; Minnie Farewell, Creston South and Olive Clarke at Clarkes Beach. Brother-in-law Norman Farewell and wife Alma at St. John’s. Thirteen grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Robert Peddle at St. Michaels Anglican Church in Creston South on Sept. 29th at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at St. Michaels Anglican Church Cemetery in Creston South. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Michaels Anglican Cemetery Fund. Pall bearers were: Reuben Rogers, Gerald Rogers, Andy Rogers, Wilf Emberley, Wayne Rogers, Grant Stuckless. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, Flavia Turpin of St. Lawrence. Predeceased by husband William in 1994 and sister Melinda in 1995. Left to mourn are son Tony (wife Pam) of Lawn; daughters Jeanien (husband Ian Edwards) of Manuels and Donna (husband Steve Marshall) of Logy Bay. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Audrey (Claude Goyer), Levina Anthony, Marie Strang, Marjorie (Tom Cooper) and Lorraine Fitzpatrick; brothers Bill (Claire) Fitzpatrick, brother-in-law Gerald Doyle. Father Regis Kamela conducted funeral mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, St. Lawrence Saturday, Oct. 25. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Bill Fitzpatrick, Alex Strang, Jim Cooper, Gerald Doyle, Tom Cooper and Todd Lambe. Cross bearer was Tony Turpin.
