Passed peacefully away at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on May 2, 2005 Selena Anstey of Marystown in her 80th year. Predeceased by husband Garfield. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: sisters Sarah Hodder of North Harbour, Isabelle (John Farewell); brother Josiah Hodder (Jessie) of Rock Hr.; sister-in-laws Captain Jeanette (Kenneth Crews), and Annie Grandy of Grand Bank plus a large circle of other family and friends. Rev. Robert Peddle officiated funeral service on May 4th from St. Peter's Church, Rock Hr. with interment following at Anglican Cemetery, Rock Hr. Pallbearers - Jeff Smith, Tim Hodder, Raymond Hodder, John Hodder, Arthur Brown and Sharon Hillier. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE".

September 6, 1919 - April 30, 2005

Passed peacefully away at his residence on April 30, 2005 Ewart Beazley of Big Salmonier in his 85th year. Predeceased by parents Gabriel and Julie; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Elizabeth; son David (Janice) of Fort Francis, Ontario; daughter Linda (Les Walter) of Big Salmonier; grandsons Grey (Aimee), Shane (Lauren), David (Debbie); 2 great-grandchildren; sister Caroline Brushett plus a large circle of other family and friends. Rev. Jean Lane officiated funeral service on May 3rd from Hope United Church, Lewin's Cove followed by cremation. Leaving to mourn, sons: Melvin of Marystown, Walter (wife Alene) of Marystown, Harvey (wife Betty) of Marystown, Austin (wife Rose) of Marystown, Leslie (friend Debbie) of Marystown, Samuel of Marystown, Merrill (wife Audrey) of Marystown; daughters: Greta (husband Winston Beck) of Toronto, Judy (husband Bruce Hotton) of Toronto, Ruby (husband Calvin Crocker) of Halifax; sisters: Gladys Farewell - Little Bay, Ruby - Ontario, and Evelyn Bailey - Pennsylvania, USA; brothers: Almer Hodder - Creston South, Malcolm Hodder (wife Elaine) British Columbia, Austin Hodder (wife Jerrie) Ontario, and Stephen- Ontario; 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Passed away suddenly at the Grand Bank Health Care Center, Grand Bank on May 13th, George A. Hickman of Grand Bank, age 85 years. Predeceased by wife Harriett, parents Henry and Elizabeth Hickman, brothers Ronald and Chester. Leaving to mourn 1 daughter: Phyllis Davis (Keith) South River, 3 sons: Sim (Judy), Max (Louise), Woody (Betty), all at Grand Bank, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Majors Frank & Rita Pittman from the Salvation Army Citadel on Monday, May 16th with interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Passed suddenly away at the Lewis Home, St. Mary's Bay on April 22, 2005, Marilyn Hodder formerly of St. Lawrence in her 47th year. Predeceased by parents Lester and Eileen, sister Jean, brother Loyla. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories brother Randell (Chris) of Ontario, Glen (Jean) of Burin, Gus of B.C., David of B.C., Gary (Debbie) of St. Lawrence; nephews Steven and Dexter; nieces Stephanie and Jenna, plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Frank Puddister officiated the funeral mass on April 25th from St. Thomas Aquinas Church, St. Lawrence with interment following at Mount Cecilia Cemetery, St. Lawrence. HOLLETT, Norman Sr.
Passed peacefully away May 2, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, Norman Hollett Sr. of Lewin's Cove. He was 98 years old. Predeceased by wife Annie. Left to mourn are sons Don (wife Vivian) of Salmonier, Bill (wife Jessie) of Grand Beach, Ladner (wife Marie) of Salmonier, Gordon (wife Georgina), Paul (wife Margaret), Junior (wife Marion) and Mitchell (wife Brenda) all of Lewin's Cove; daughters Ruby Isaacs of Salmonier, Pam Hughes of Platts Burg, New York, Shirley Jerrow of Toronto and Barbara Armstrong (husband Thomas) of Toronto. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Bertha Wiscombe, home care worker Priscilla Isaacs, brother Walter Hollett and a large number of grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Reverend Jean Lane conducted funeral services at Hope United Church, Lewin's Cove Thursday, May 5 at 2 p.m. with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Lewin's Cove. Predeceased by his father Gerard, mother Gertrude and brother Kenneth. Passed suddenly away Wednesday, May 11 at his home in Terrenceville, George Mitchell. He was 91 years old. Predeceased by brothers Patrick and John; sisters Gladys, Irene and Alice; parents William and Elizabeth. Passed peacefully away May 11 at the Miller Centre, John R. Myles Sr. of Terrenceville. He was 82 years old. Passed away tragically at Marystown on Feb. 6th, 2005 Edward Mark Osbourne of Winterland, formerly of Grand Bank in his 35th year.
