Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Saturday, April 24, 2004, Richard Aleksandrowicz of Terrenceville. He was 48 years old. Left to mourn are wife Catherine, son Richard of St. John's, step-son Carl Crowley and family of Ontario, step-daughter Lisa (husband Wayne) and family of Parker's Cove. Also leaving to mourn are sister Kristine Ryall of St. John's, brother Fred Aleksandrowicz of Ontario and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Jeff Kolonel conducted the funeral service at White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown Tuesday, April 27. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes.

Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Interfaith Home Wednesday, April 28, 2004 Alvina Bartlett of Grand Bank; aged 68 years. Predeceased by husbands Lewis Bartlett and Allan Vallis; mother and father Garland and Hazel Vallis. Left to mourn are daughters Glenda Burton (Calvin) of Grand Bank and Mildred Hillier (Oliver) of St. John's; sons Cyril (Dulcie) and Garland (Caroline) of Grand Bank; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn sisters Grace Shaw (Gerry) at Nova Scotia and Ernestine Poole at Milltown, Bay d'Espoir; brother Angus Vallis (Norma) at Harbour Breton and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held Friday, April 30 at 2 p.m. from St. Alban's Anglican Church, Grand Bank with interment at St.Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Grand Bank. Officiating clergy was Reverend Michael Lee; organist was Karen Li. Pallbearers were Sam Barnes, Seward Bartlett, George Dolimount, Michael Grandy, Carl Hillier, Kevin Hillier, Jim Purchase and Dean Vallis. Passed suddenly away April 30, 2004 at the US Memorial Hospital, Veronica M. Bennett of Lawn. She was 65 years old. Predeceased by daughter Rose Marie. Left to mourn are sons James (wife Ruth) of Lawn, Colin (wife Beverly) of St. John's and Tony (wife Wendy) of Ottawa; daughters Pamela (husband Tony Turpin) of Lawn, Sylvia (husband Clyde Edwards) of Lawn and Rose (Perry Quirke) of St. John's. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Lorraine Strang and Susan Lundrigan; brothers Ed Edwards and Anthony Edwards; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Frank Puddister conducted funeral mass at Holy Name of Jesus, Lawn, Monday, May 3, with interment at Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lawn. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Logan Bennett, Tony Turpin, Donny Lambe, Clyde Edwards, Dustin Edwards and Brian Crant. Passed away suddenly at Grand Bank, Wednesday, April 21, 2004 Scott D. Bungay aged 35 years. Predeceased by mother Margaret and his grandparents. Left to mourn are father Jack (Amy), Corey and Angela, brother Brian (Bernice), sister Roxanne Roberts (Ken), Benjamin and Nicholas and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service took place from the United Church, Grand Bank, Saturday, April 24 with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Grand Bank. Officiating clergy were Reverend Raymond Case and Reverend Chris Andrews. Organist was Betty Rogers. Pallbearers were Clarence Brooks, William Tibbo, Randell Pope, Carl Bungay, Gerald Bungay and Kevin Snook. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank.

Passed peacefully away at G.B. Cross Hospital, Clarenville, NL on May 11, 2004 Charles William (Charlie) Clarke of Baine Harbour, NL in his 81st year. Predeceased by father - Capt. Edward Clarke, mother - Annie Clarke and sister - Ida Harris. He was a World War 11 Veteran, Royal Navy. Leaving to mourn: Sisters Mabel and husband, William Bickford, Bell Island and Stella Clarke, Blue Crest Home, Grand Bank. Brother: Frank Clarke Sr. of Baine Harbour; Special nephew Frank and wife Pam of Rushoon, nieces and nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Charles Harris at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Baine Harbour, NL on May 14 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery in Baine Harbour, NL In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mark's Anglican Church, Baine Harbour, NL Pallbearers were: Frank Clarke Jr., Eddie Clarke, Edward Whittle, Austin Whittle, Harvey Reid, Maxwell White. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Geoff Lomond of Peninsula Funeral Home Ltd., Creston South.

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Friday, April 23, 2004, Perry I. Drake of Grand Bank, aged 36 years. Predeceased by mother Irene Drake, grandparents Patrick and Ida Drake, grandfather Philip Price and uncle Cyril Price. Left to mourn are his wife Michelle, son Parker at Grand Bank, father Isaac (Phoebe) at Grand Bank, sister Paula at St. John's, grandmother Gladys Price at Grand Bank, father-in-law and mother-in-law Walter and Dinah Matthews, sister-in-law Dominique Matthews (Trevor) at Grand Bank and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held Monday, April 26 from the Salvation Army Citadel in Grand Bank with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Officiating clergy were Majors Frank and Rita Pittman. Music was provided by David Noseworthy. Pallbearers were Neil Moore, Troy Savoury, Wade Savoury, Craig Rideout, Paul Harris and Ernest Hollett. Predeceased by mother Mary Ann Fewer, father James Hayes, daughter Annie Catherine, brothers John and Patrick. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Monday, May 3, 2004, Chesley Herridge of Fortune, aged 79 years. Predeceased by parents George and Hannah Herridge, brother Clayton Herridge and sister Mabel Phillips. Left to mourn are wife Nina; daughters Joan Felix (Al) at Ottawa and Judy Osmond (Keith) of Grand Bank; sons William (Isabelle) of Winnipeg and David (Joan) of Labrador City; granddaughter Kim Panek (husband Joe) and son Zachery at Mississauga, Ontario. Also leaving to mourn seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister Esther Giles at Swift Current; brother Gordon Herridge (Betty) at Fortune, and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
