BROWN, Thomas Frederick
Passed peacefully away at his residence on May 14th, Thomas Brown Jr. of Burin in his 55th year. Predeceased by Parents Mary and Thomas. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Shirley; son Ronnie (Nicole) of Calgary; daughter Michele (Claude Butler) of Burin; grandchildren Keshia, Andrew, Shauna and Zachary; sisters Patricia (Graham) Meta, Rose (Richard) and Marion (George); brothers Philip (Emily), Fred (Agnes), Alex (Shirley) and Stan plus a large circle of other family and friends. Father Charles Groakery officiated funeral Mass on May 17th from St. Patrick's RC Parish Church with internment following at RC Cemetery, Salt Pond. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE." Pallbearers were Randy Kelly, Gerald Coady, Gary Kelly, Stan Brown, Fred Brown and Phil Brown. Cross Bearer was Andrew Kelly.

CLARKE, Chesley
Passed away suddenly May 1, at his home, Chesley Clarke of Little Bay East. He was 58 years old. Predeceased by mother Edith, father Simeon, brothers Stanley, Samuel and Gerald. Left to mourn are sisters Doris Armstrong, Blanche Silva of Ontario, Janet Cross all of Ontario and Margaret (Lawrence) of Evinger, Indianapolis; brothers Thomas (Lucy) of Little Bay East, Elias of Terrenceville and Don (Susan) of Ontario; nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. Oscar Elms conducted funeral service at Salem United Church, Little Bay East, Sunday May 4. Internment was at Salem United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Herman Bolt, Jeffrey Clarke, Howard Dominaux, Raymond Dominaux, Earl Thornhill and Bill Bungay.

DICKS, William Joseph
Passed peacefully away May 19, at St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's, William Joseph Dicks of Rushoon. He was 72 years old. Predeceased by son Craig, infant son, sisters Ellen Elizabeth, Marie Carmel and parents William and Violet. Left to mourn are Monnie; sons Bill (wife Bernie) of Mount Pearl and Corey of Marystown; daughters Carol Ann Mason of Mount Pearl, Yvonne Loughlin (husband Garry) of Mount Pearl and Marie of Marystown. Also leaving to mourn sisters Geraldine Brown, Anna Green (Ray), Isabelle Norman (Charl) and Deloris Hann (Jack); brother Celestine (wife Anne); 11 grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Steve Murrin conducted funeral Mass at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Rushoon, Thursday, May 22. Internment was at Roman Catholic Cemetery, Rushoon. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were William Joseph Patrick Dicks 111 (son), Corey Dicks (son), Celestine Dicks (brother), Ray Greene Sr. (brother-in-law), Gregory Lake (nephew) and Charles Dicks (cousin). Cross bearer was William Joseph Patrick Dicks 1V (grandson).

FLANNIGAN, Leanna
Passed peacefully away May 4 at her home in Labrador City, Leanna Flannigan, formerly of Lawn. She was 43 years old. Left to mourn are her loving husband, David; son Mitchell (fiancée) Angela of St. John's, daughter Tanya of Labrador City, precious grandchild Jessica, mother and father Edith and James Tarrant, seven sisters, five brothers and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father John Costello conducted funeral Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Lawn Thursday, May 8. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Isaac Tarrant, Kevin Tarrant, Guy Tarrant, Aubrey Tarrant, Conrad Flannigan and Patrick Flannigan. Cross bearer was Jimmy Tarrant.

HARDING, Albert George
Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on May 18th Albert George Harding of Epworth in his 92nd year. Predeceased by wife Annie, parents John and Elizabeth, son-in-law Boyd Moulton, sisters Elizabeth and Hattie and brothers Isaac, Raymond and Abram. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughter Rita Moulton of Epworth, grandson Carl Moulton (Jewel); granddaughters Patricia Ceaser (John) and Barbara McDonald (Douglas); great-grandchildren Kyle Ceaser, Jessie McDonald and Caitlin Moulton; sister-in-law Verlie Harding plus other family and friends. Rev. Jean Lane officiated funeral service from Epworth United Church on May 20th with internment following at UC Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE." Pallbearers were Leroy Baker, Gerald Moulton, Lyndon Moulton, George Mayo, Vince Mullett and Bill Paul.

HILLIER, Donald
Passed peacefully away May 10, 2003, Donald Hillier of Fortune. He was 50 years old. Left to mourn are wife Lydia; parents Elias and Violet Hillier; sons Michael (Bonny) of Halifax, Keith (Lori) of New Brunswick and Rick (Jennifer) of Halifax; sister Daphne (Leonard) Bonnell; brothers Aubrey, Lloyd (Melinda), Ken (Mary) and Keith (Michelle); three grandchildren Megan, Ryan and Zachary. Reverend Pollard conducted the funeral service at the Anglican Church in Fortune, May 13. Internment was at the Anglican Cemetery, Fortune. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Fortune. Pallbearers were Ken Hillier, Charles Savoury, Edward Hllier, Leonard Bonnell, Lloyd Price and Alec Reid.

Passed peacefully away at her residence in Point May Saturday, May 24, Madonna M. Hillier, aged 54 years. Predeceased by parents Patrick and Theresa Stacey, sister Yvonne and brother-in-law Thomas Wells. Left to mourn are Husband Frank; brothers Rene (Mary), Dennis (Jeanette), Gerard (Hazel), Paul (Celeste), all at Point May, Patrick (Joyce) of Fortune and Brian (Geneva) of Labrador City; sisters Mary Myles (Sam) of Frenchman's Cove, Suzanne Wells (Robert) of Toronto, Diane Denorine (Brahm) of Brampton-Ontario, Bridget Lévesque, Jean Grandy (Gary) and Sheila Bungay (Sandy) all of Grand Bank; nine sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a large circle of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Special thank you to the caregivers Hazel, Barbara and Rose; nurses Eileen, Tracey and Sister Maureen Lowler. HODDER, Bernice M
Passed peacefully away May 8, 2003, at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, Bernice M. Hodder of St. Bernard's. She was 84 years old. Predeceased by husband Bill in 1993. Left to mourn are sons Doug, Bill, Chris, Barry, Frank and Ren; daughters Lucy, Sheila and Mary; 27 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Jeff Kolonel conducted the funeral service and Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in St. Bernard's. Sat., May 10. Internment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard's. Passed peacefully away May 26 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Clarence Hodder of Salmonier. He was 77 years old. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Monday, May 19, Maurice Joseph Hodge of Lord's Cove. He was 66 years old. Left to mourn are his wife Lucy of Lord's Cove; daughter Colleen (Wayne) of Cape Broyle; sons Jim, Ross (Melanie) and Jeffrey (Laura-Ann) of Edmonton, Alberta; sisters Winnifred, Lucy, Ann-Marie, Cecelia, Veronica and Precilla; brother John and Prosper; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away May 27 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, after a short illness, Mrs. Philomena Lambe of Marystown. She was 84 years old. Predeceased by husband Harry and son Joe. Left to mourn are sons Ken of British Columbia, Harry (wife Sharon) of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Rich (wife Ruth) of St. John's, Brian (wife Linda) of St. John's and Larry (wife Bonnie) of Marystown; daughters Joan (husband Bill Coady) of Marystown, Sue (Roy Keating) of Porter's Lake, N.S., Bridget (husband Phil Hanrahan) of Marystown, Florence (husband Dan Walsh) of Marystown and Mary (husband Tom Power) of Marystown; 36 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Ray Earle conducted funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown Saturday, May 31. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Marystown. Passed peacefully away May 23 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, Gordon Miller of Rushoon. He was 65 years old. Predeceased by father Jerome and brother Phonse. Passed peacefully away Sunday, May 4, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre George Parrott of St. Bernard's. He was 87 years old. Predeceased by wife Mary. Left to mourn are his son Sam of St. Bernard's, daughter Theresa Johnson of Harbour Breton and three grandchildren. Father Jeff Kolonel conducted the funeral Mass from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in St. Bernard's Tuesday, May 6. Internment was in the R.C. Cemetery at St. Bernard's. Passed away suddenly at his residence in Fortune Monday, May 12, William Scott Thorne. He was 33 years old.
