Passed suddenly away at his home in English Harbour East on March 12, 2006, Roy Bolt in his 71st year. Predeceased by son Gordon, mother Theresa, father Charles, sister Ada and brother Gordon. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Margaret, sons Sonny (Tiffiny) of English Harbour, Rod (Della) and Terry (Debbie) of St. John's, daughters Carolann Byrd (IWill) of St. John's and Kim of Toronto, daughter-in-law Melvie and sister Carrie McDoodle, brothers Ron (Regina), Jerome (Madonna and Lorne Laurette), eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Fr. Steve Courtney conducted funeral Mass at St. Ann's Roman Catholic church in English Harbour East on Friday, March 17, 2006. Interment was at Roman Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ernie Bold, Lorne Bolt, Whyman Hackett, Mark Dooley, Elroy Mitchell and Jim Hackett. Crossbearer was Timothy Bolt. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home in Marystown.

BURKE, Robert Joseph
December 15, 1935 - February 27, 2006

Passed away suddenly at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on February 27, 2006, Robert Burke of Salmonier in his 70th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Alice; sons: Thomas and special friend Dorothy of St. Lawrence, John and wife Daphne of Winterland and Jeffrey and wife Bertha of Marystown; daughters: Betty and husband Wayne Myles of Burin Bay Arm, Theresa and husband Alvin Cluett of Wabush, Debbie and husband Harold Brown of Mortier, Sandra and special friend Leo Dober of Burin Bay Arm and Sarah and husband Dale Moulton of Winterland; twelve grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters: Melinda Turner and Theresa Coady of St. John's and brothers: John and Henry of St. Lawrence plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral Mass was officiated by Father Charlie Kelly on March 3rd from St. Patrick's R.C. Parish Church with interment following at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fox Cove. Pallbearers were sons: Tom, John and Jeff Burke, sons-in-law Wayne Myles, Harold Brown and Dale Moulton. Crossbearer was Kevin Burke. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin.

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on March 22, 2006, Leo Coombs Sr. of Terrenceville in his 78th year. Predeceased by parents Sarah Ann and John; brothers Mike, Austin, John, William and Frank; sister Julia and daughter Patricia. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Alice; sons Leo (Betty) and Hubert (Barbara) both of Terrenceville; daughters Theresa Deveaux (Tommy) of Terrenceville, Shirley Collier of AB, Irene Drake (Ray) of Marystown, Alice Cox (deceased Larry) of AB, Sharon Hartinger (Greg) of N.B., Joan Coombs (Don Thorne) of Marystown, Bertha Coombs (deceased David) of Quebec and Deborah Whittle (Tim) of AB; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Alice Byrd (Freeman) and Edith Hackett (Jack) plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral Mass was officiated by Father Charlie Kelly from St. Joseph's RC Church, Terrenceville on March 24th with cremation following. Passed peacefully away with her family by her side at the Queen Elizabeth 2nd Health Care Centre, Halifax, Nova Scotia on Saturday, March 18, 2006, Jennifer (Spencer) Drake of Grand Bank in her 37th year. Predeceased by grandparents Reuben and Winifred Forsey, and Byron and Valetta Spencer; and parents-in-law Peter and Adelaide Drake. Leaving to mourn with precious and loving memories her husband Peter, two sons Joshua and Brandon; father and mother Barry and Sally Spencer of Fortune; brother Barry Jr. and wife Susan of Topsail; Special friends Kim Buffett of Grand Bank, Denise King of St. John's, Donna Kearley of Florida, Tara Meadhearst and Diane Todd of Calgary. Also a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Rev. Chris Andrews from the United Church Fortune on Wednesday, March 22nd at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Saint Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lord's Cove. Organist was Linda Collier. Pallbearers were: Collin Buffett, Bob Dolimount, Dan Austin, Christopher Strickland, Luke Edwards and Wade Drake. Cross Bearer was Kim Buffett. Fr. Regis Kamela conducted funeral Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic church in St. Lawrence on Thursday, March 16, 2006. Interment was at Mount Cecilia Cemetery in St. Lawrence. GRANDY, Deneen Collette
Passed peacefully away at James L. West Centre Hospice House in Fort Worth, Texas on Sunday, March 19, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Deneen was 37 years old. Beloved daughter of Shirley Grandy and George Grandy (Doreen) of Grand Bank. Forever loved and mourned by her boyfriend Rod Gruber of Arlington, Texas, three sisters Tammy Hunt (Allan), Donna Cluett (Harvey), Colleen King (Darin) and her brothers Todd (Edna), Troy (Janice), Travis (Jennifer) and Jamie, her nieces, nephews and her other relatives and a large circle of friends in Newfoundland and Texas. Deneen's Memorial Service will be held April 1st, 2 pm at the Salvation Army Citadel in Grand Bank, visitation with family and friends at the Salvation Army Youth Hall following Committal. Donations may be made to the family.

Passed peacefully away at the Grand Bank Health Care Centre on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 Caleb W. Green of Grand Bank, age 65 years. Predeceased by mother and father Frances and Frederick Green; sister Mary and brother Scott. Leaving to mourn: wife Rose; daughter Frances at Ontario; sons Bill (Nicole) at Grand Bank; Geoff (Trudy) at St. Anthony; grandchildren Zachary, Rebecca and Zoe; sisters Rita Blake (Jim) at Botwood, Susie Grandy at Grand Bank, Margaret Boland (Max) at Grand Bank, Edith Winsor at Grand Bank, and Ethel Cuff (Cyril) at Lewisporte; and brother George at Grand Bank. Passed away at her residence in Grand Bank on Thursday, February 23, 2006, surrounded by her children Gladys L. Hardy formerly of Jersey Harbour, Fortune Bay age 77 years. Predeceased by husband Alex, daughter Rayelene, grandson Christopher. Leaving to mourn are son Tom, daughters Caroline Vallis (Garland); Ruby, Barbara, all of Grand Bank; Cheryl Degruchy (Wayne) at Kelligrews, Yvonne Linegar (Stewart) at St. John's; six grandchildren: Thomas, Tiffany, Travis, Kayla, Laura, and Hardy, one sister Bernice Bennett at Grand Bank and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away with her family at her side, at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, on Sunday, March 5, 2006, Dinah Belle Snook (nee Grandy) of Grand Bank, in her 78th year. Predeceased by: mother Maria Grandy (Follett), father Hubert W. Grandy, and two sisters, Berdena Grandy and Vivian Pierce (Grandy). She leaves to mourn: her husband of 55 years, Frank; four daughters: Winnie Tibbo (Wayne), Marilyn (Cecil Clements), Vivian Myles (Jack), and Patsy Price (Glenn): 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: one brother John Grandy of Toronto, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman from the Salvation Army, Grand Bank on Thursday, March 9th at 2 pm. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Music was provided by the Salvation Army Band and the String Band. Pallbearers were: John Francis, Roy Grandy, Murdock Hiscock, Jim Douglas, Winston Grandy and Phil Baker. The Snook family extends special thanks to the professional staff of the Burin Peninsula Health Care and St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot he care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank.

Passed peacefully away at the Grand Bank Health Care Centre on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, Cyril R. Vallis, of Grand Bank, age 54 years. Predeceased by parents Lewis and Alvina Bartlett, and mother-in-law Meta Forsey. He leaves to mourn: wife Dulcie, daughter Marlene West (Keith); grandsons Zachary and Ethan at Fort McMurray, Alberta; son Dean (Angela); granddaughter Millie at Kilbride; brother Garland Vallis (Caroline) at Grand Bank; sisters Glenda Burton (Calvin) at Grand Bank, Mildred Hillier (Oliver) at the Goulds; father-in-law Andrew Forsey, and a large circle of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Rev. Michael Li from St. Alban's Anglican Church, Grand Bank on Friday, March 10th at 2 pm. Interment followed at St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Grand Bank. Organist was Karen Li. Pallbearers were: David Steward, Garfield Simms, Thomas Simms, Daryl Forsey, Everett Forsey, and Eric Stacey. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot he care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank, "Where Dedicated People Care."

Passed peacefully away at his home in Marystown, March 5, 2006, Dominic Walsh in his 56th year. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Walsh. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Mary Ann; sons Greg (Lorelei) of Marystown, Shawn (Vicki) of Medicine Hat, Alberta and Cory of Victoria, B.C.; sisters Carol Ann (Neil Kelly) of Medicine Hat and Linda Burbridge of Mount Pearl; brothers: Joseph (Sally) of Marystown, Kevin (Joanne) of Niagara Falls, Kenny (Monica) of Medicine Hat, Brian and Gary of Marystown; grandchildren: Keshia and Brianna. Also leaving to mourn two close friends: Vince Molloy and Frank Myles, plus a large circle of other relatives and friends.Fr. Charlie Kelly conducted Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic church in Marystown, Wednesday, March 8th. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Eugene Devereaux, Randy Brenton, Brian Walsh, Howard Walsh, Philip Baker and Tom Reid. Crossbearer was Keshia Byrde. Passed away at his residence on March 26, 2006, Norman White of Port au Bras in his 81st year. Predeceased by father William, mother Elizabeth and sister Mae. Rev.
