BAKER, Theresa
Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre June 3, 2006, Theresa Baker of Marystown in her 82nd year. Predeceased by husband Joseph in 1999. Leaving to mourn her loving children sons Patrick (Grainne), Raymond (Sheila), John (Bernice) and Jerome (Maxine), Martin (Wanda), all of Marystown, Joseph (Dorothy) of Labrador City, Gerard (Edwina) and William (Mary Ann) both of Marystown; daughters Ann Marie Baker of Corner Brook, Donna-Mary (Eugene Walsh) of Marystown, Mary Lynn (Joseph Paonessa) of St. Catherine's, Ontario, Susanna of Marystown and Nancy (Mario Vardy) of New Market, (sic) Ontario. Also leaving to mourn sisters Philomena Walsh and Susan Furiotta; niece Catherine Walsh, 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown Tuesday, June 6th. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Marystown. pallbearers were her sons: Pat, Ray, john, Jerome, martin,Joe, Gerard and Bill; daughters Annie Marie, Donna-Mary, Mary Lynn and Susanna. Crossbearer was her daughter Nancy. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown.

DENTY, Charles
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial hospital, Clarenville on Friday, June 9, 2006, Charles Denty, aged 86 years. Formerly of Boat Harbour West. Predeceased by parents, six brothers and one sister. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Marjorie of 62 years; daughters Carol (Roy Weir), Little Bay island and Lillian (Verdon Milley), South Brook; son Fred (Phyllis) Clarenville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three half brothers, five half sisters and a large circle of family and friend. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held Sunday, June 11, 2006 from Memorial united Church, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial united Church, Clarenville or a charity of ones choice.

DIBBON, John R.
September 16, 1939 - June 14, 2006

Passed suddenly away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Burin on June 14, 2006, John R. Dibbon of Port au Bras in his 66th year Predeceased by parents Ida and Henry. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Georgina; daughter Jacqui (Finance Jason); sisters: Alice (Don), Sheila (John), and Clara; nephews: Dion, Gary, John, Rick, Allen, Wayne and Keith; nieces: Cindy and Wendy plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service was officiated by Rev. Berdina Ford from St. Andrew's Church, Port au Bras on June 19th with interment following at St. Andrew's Cemetery, Port au Bras. Pallbearers were Richard Dibbon, Bert Bennett, Bruce Isaacs, Nath Osbourne, Jason Brockerville and Cyril Dodge. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE."

EMBERLEY, Igol
Passed away suddenly in Grand Bank on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, Igol Emberley of Grand Bank, age 66 years. Predeceased by wife Relia, parents Fred and Lydia Emberley, brother Walt and nephew David. Leaving to mourn: 2 sons Chris at Fort McMurray, AB and Andrew (friend Annette) at Grand Bank; 3 sisters Blanche Tibbo (Buff) at Sherwood Park, AB; Bernice Dodge (Albert) at Labrador City; Hilda Penny (Keith) at Wabush; 2 brothers Milcolm (sic) (Henrietta) at Port Perry, ON; Clarence (Diane) at Yellowknife, NWT; sister-in-law Ferne at Timber Ridger (sic) BC. Special people Uncle Gary, Aunt Ernie, Randy and Charlie Emberley. Also a large circle of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman from the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank on Monday, June 19th at 2 p.m. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Music was provided by the Salvation Army Band. pallbearers were Harry Clements, Dave Noseworthy, Sam hillier, Willis Loveless, Jack Cumbden and Stephen Hiscock. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank "Where Dedicated People Care."

EVOY, Joseph Thomas
Passed away peacefully on June 25, 2006, Joseph Thomas Evoy of Marystown in his 55th year. Mr. Evoy was predeceased by mother Dorothy and father Thomas, also brother David. Leaving to mourn: wife Carmelita, daughters Cindy (Ed) of Fort McMurray, Alberta; Kelly Dunphy (Jason) of Hamilton, Ontario; Jo-anne Sullivan (Chris) of Hartland, Ontario; Terri-lynn (Brad) of St. John's. Also leaving to mourn: sisters Josephine Cheeseman (Bern), Mary Clarke, Cecilia George (Terry); brothers Bernard, John, Winston (Jo-anne); four grandchildren Brittany, Kiera, Jordyn and Amber. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted the funeral service at Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Marystown, on Thursday, June 28, 2006. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Marystown. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes in Marystown. Pallbearers were Edward Hynes, Christopher Sullivan, Vincent Brake, Jason Dunphy, Bradley Wall and Edward Dunphy, crossbearer was Glen Brake. Funeral arrangements entrusted to White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown.

Passed suddenly away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Complex on June 30, 2006, Jean Harding of Burin Bay Arm in her 66th year. Predeceased by parents Dinah and Augustus Hillier, siblings Edgar, Polly, Eva and Millie. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories husband Howard, son David of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; daughter Glennys (Conroy) of Brampton, Ontario; granddaughter Sabrina; great-granddaughter Faith: grandsons Justin, Matthew, Mark; brother John Hillier (Chrissie) of Halifax, NS; sisters Lillian Bonnell of Marystown, Ruth Frank of Halifax, NS, Etta Hillier of Ontario, Clara Tibbs of St. John's, Mabel Bolt (Charles) of Grand Bank, Sheila Lock of Corner Brook, Violet Hann of Richmond Hill, Ontario and Emma Hunt (Ray) of Corner Brook plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service was officiated by Reverend Susan White from Bethany United Church, Burin Bay Arm on July 4th with cremation following. Pallbearers were David Harding, Justin Harding, Jim Harding, Guy W. Hollett, Peter Slade and Clyde Rose. funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE."

KEEPING, William J.
Passed peacefully away at the U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre, St. Lawrence on Saturday, June 3, 2006, William J. Keeping of Fortune, age 77 years. Predeceased by wife, Ruby; father and mother, Benjamin and Mary Keeping; step-mother, Myrtle Keeping. He leaves to mourn tow sons: Jordan (Ethel), George (Gail), all at Fortune; five grandchildren, three sisters; Rosie Miller at Spaniard's Bay, Jessie Buffett (Peter) Fortune, Georgina Burfitt (George) Grand Bank; five brothers, Walter (Mary) Grand Bank, Charles (Brenda) Fortune, Rev. Edward (Joyce) St. John's, Kenneth (Fronie) Fortune, George (Bonnie) Fortune; also, a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. James Pollard on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 from All Saints Anglican Church, Fortune. Interment followed in All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Fortune. Organist was Henrietta Pope. Pallbearers were George Keeping, Charles keeping, Walter Keeping, Peter Buffett, Hubert Rose, John Ben Hillier. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral home, Grand Bank, "Where Dedicated People Care."

LAKE, Brooklyn Hope
Passed peacefully away at the Janeway Children's Hospital June 21, 2006, Brooklyn Hope Lake. Brooklyn was six days old. Leaving to mourn her loving parents Lori Ann Lambe and Todd Lake and her sister Kaylen. Also left to mourn are grandparents Diane and Morgan Walters and Martha and James Lake, four uncles and three aunts. Donations may be made to the family. Father Francis Roache conducted the funeral mass at Christ the King Roman Catholic church in Rushoon Saturday, June 24th. Interment was at the R.C. Cemetery in Rushoon. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes.

Passed peacefully away at the U.S. Memorial Hospital June 16, 2006, Elizabeth C. Lake of Rushoon in her 94th year. Predeceased by husband John Lake, daughter Beatrice Murphy, son Aiden, grandchildren Frankie, Mary and Sammy Mulrooney; Reggie Lake, Heather Silver and Lisa Marie Lake, daughters-in-law Kathleen, Monnie and Marie. Leaving to mourn sons Gerard (Mary) of Rushoon, Henry (Mary) and Dennis (Loretta), both of St. John's, Jack (Bertha) of Jean De Baie and Tom of Rushoon; daughters Mercedes (Tony Silver) of Mount Pearl, Madonna (Don Mulrooney) of Jerseyside, Martha (James Lake) of Rushoon, Nora (Fred Mulrooney) of Point Verde, Regina (Dermot Hawco), Maureen (James Cheeseman) and Lynette (Pius Cheeseman) all of Rushoon. Also leaving to mourn son-in-law Fred Murphy of Southern Harbour, 73 grandchildren, 87 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Ken Walsh conducted funeral mass at Christ the King, Roman Catholic church in Rushoon Monday, June 19th. interment was at Roman Catholic Cemetery in Rushoon. Pallbearers were Jeffrey Cheeseman, Pius Cheeseman, Bradley Cheeseman, Scott Lake, Brian Lake, Michael Cheeseman, Jerry Cheeseman, Henry Lake and Johnny Lake. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes.

Passed peacefully away at the St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on June 5, 2006, Annie Lambe of Lord's Cove in her 84th year. Predeceased by husband Samuel and granddaughter Lyndsey. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Winston (Marlene), Roche, Gary (Cindy), Dominic (Jacquie); daughters Eileen Walsh, Selina Harnett, Theresa Carey (Gerry), Barbara Lambe, Gwen Antle (Leo Durnford) and Lynette Hennessey (Gary); grandchildren Gary, Derek,Mike, Christina, Cynthia, Gwennie, Kenneth, Janice, Stephen, Danny, Jonathan, Katie, Sammy, Lyndsey, Courtney, Annie and Maggie; great-grandchildren: Jewel, Myles, Duncan and Gillian; sisters-in-law Emma Harnett and Frances Lambe; brothers-in-law Michael Slaney and Gilbert Lambe plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral Mass was officiated by Father Regis Kamela from St. Elizabeth's RC Parish Church, Lord's Cove on June 8th with interment following at RC Cemetery, Lord's Cove. Pallbearers were her sons: Winston, Roche, Gary and Dominic and grandsons Michael Walsh and Derek Lambe. Crossbearer was her son-in-law Gerry Carey. Passed peacefully away at her home in Fortune June 16, 2006, Janie Piercey of Fortune in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Roy. Leaving to mourn her son Ronald (Millie) of Toronto; sisters Evelyn and Sadie (George), both of Nova Scotia; brothers Roy, Doug, Darrin and Ronnie; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev.Lewis Crewe conducted funeral service at Fortune United Church Sunday, June 18. Interment was at Fortune United Cemetery. Passed away suddenly at his home in St. Lawrence June 2, 2006, Hedley Allan Pike in his 62nd year. Predeceased by father Robert Pike and brother Joseph. Leaving to mourn his loving mother Reta Pike of St. Lawrence, sisters Janet (Randy) and Delsy (Kevin) both of St. Lawrence; brothers Alfred (Wilomena) of Toronto, Bill (Winnie) of St. Lawrence and Giles (Kay) of Burin; special friend Mary of St. Lawrence and her children Freddie, Jamie, Martha and Tammy; sister-in-law Ann Pike; seven nephews and three nieces plus a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed away after a courageous battle at the Health Sciences Complex in St. John's, June 1, 2006, Charles "Charlie" Leonard Rideout of Marystown, in his 57th year. Predeceased by mother Mildred, father Leonard, brother Jim and sister Theresa. leaving to mourn with fond memories are sisters Melinda (Wil) Hunt, Dorothy (Maurice) Paullot, Elsie (John) Parsons, Carolyn (Andrian) Graham, Amelia (Dennis) Kelly and Mildred (Frank) Power, sister-in-law Violet; brothers Hubert (Martha), Bill (Joanne) and Fred (Jean); special cousin and friend Celeste Mitchell and a large number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Also left to mourn is his extended family at Sacred Heart Academy. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic church in Marystown, Monday, June 5th with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Frenchman's Cove. Pallbearers were Dustin Rideout, Jamie Rideout, Fred Rideout, Hubert Rideout, William Rideout, Kathy Rideout, Jim Rideout and William Rideout, Jr. Crossbearer was Adrian Rideout. Donations may be made to a memorial fund that will be set up in Charlie's memory. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Alice; sons David (Christine) of Creston South, Darrell (Colleen) of Salt Pond; daughters Kimberley Riggs (Troy Drake) of Fox Cove; grandchildren Kaitlin, Dylan, Chelsea, Logan and Dawson; sisters Diane Parsons of mount Pearl, Doreen Spencer (Lee) of Bull's Cove, Dale Riggs (Ern Foote) of Paradise and Paulette Riggs of Bull's Cove, brothers Roland Riggs (Pat) of Marystown, Basil Riggs (Kay) of Red Harbour and Frazer Riggs (June) of Ottawa plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service was officiated by Rev. Berdina Ford from holy Trinity Church, Ship Cove on June 29th with interment following at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hodder's Point. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin."WE CARE."

SAUNDERS, Wilson
Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Inter-faith home, Grand Bank, on Tuesday, June 20 2006, Wilson Saunders of Fortune, age 56 years. Predeceased by father Adolphus and brother Opal. Leaving to mourn with precious and loving memories wife Mary at Fortune, daughter Laura Ayers (Bob) at Fortune, sons Jason (Tracey) at Grand Bank, and Chris at Fortune, four grandchildren Anthony, Alexander, Zachariah and Cole, his mother Maud Saunders at La Scie, five brothers Winston, Ivan, Harris, Clyde and Lewis, two sisters Laura and Bernice. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Captains Anthony and Beverley Dart-Stokes on Friday, June 23rd at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Fortune with interment in Salvation Army Cemetery, Fortune. Music was provided by Tom Cumben. Pallbearers were: Laura Ayers, Jason Saunders, Chris Saunders, Anthony Kearley, Charles Grandy, Clyde Saunders. Donations may be made in his memory to the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank.
