Passed peacefully away Wednesday, May 26 at The U.S. Memorial Hospital, Frances J. Antle of Mortier. She was 94 years old. Predeceased husband Dennis, daughter Maureen and granddaughter Darlene Paul. Left to mourn are sons Robert (wife Mary) of St. John's, Vince (wife Bridget), Wayne of Mortier and Derm (wife Laura) of Washington, D.C.; daughter Denisine (husband Fred Brenton) of Burin, son-in-law Emile Walsh. Also leaving to mourn sister-in-law and close friend Lizzie Lundrigan of Salmonier, 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral services at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Burin, Monday, May 30 with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fox Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Burin. Pallbearers were Rob Antle, Barry Antle, Shane Antle, Wayne Antle, Dennis Antle and Bob Walsh. Cross bearer was Brian Antle.

BECK, Edgar Orlando
Passed peacefully away at U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre, St. Lawrence on May 29, 2005, Edgar Orlando Beck of St. Lawrence in his 73rd year. Leaving to mourn: wife Ivy. Sons: Don (wife Emily) of British Columbia; daughters: Donna of St. Lawrence; Cathy (friend Mel Taylor) of Ontario; sisters: Violet and husband David Roberts of Grand Falls-Windsor; 4 grandchildren: Scott, Leeanne, Cynthia, and Preston, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Berdina Ford at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in St. Lawrence on June 02, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. Interment was at the Anglican Cemetery in St. Lawrence. Donations to his memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Pallbearers were Bud Giovanni, Walter Edwards, Ray Beck, Gus Haskell, Brian Haskell, and Joseph Little. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Geoff Lomond of Peninsula Funeral Home Ltd., Creston South.

CHEEKE, Vincent
Passed peacefully away Sunday, May 29 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Vincent Cheeke Sr. of Marystown. He was 79 years old. Predeceased by father Edward and mother Mercedes; sisters Bridget and Susanne; brother Bernard, William and Edward; son Maurice and daughter Marie. Left to mourn are wife Marie; sons Edward (wife Glenda) of Cape Breton, Bernard (Sharon), of Lawn, Vincent Jr. (wife Doris) of Marystown, Walter (Mary) of Marystown, Remegius (wife Jennifer) of Cambridge, Ontario; daughters Mercedes (husband Howard) of Port au Bras, Margaret (husband Harvey) of Burin, Evelyn (husband Bruce) of Fort McMurray and Bridget (husband Eric) of Saskatoon. Also leaving to mourn are 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Charlie Kelly conducted funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Marystown Wednesday, June 1 at 10 a.m. with interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown,. Pallbearers were Edward Cheeke, Bernard Cheeke, Vincent Cheeke Jr., Walter Cheeke, Remegius Cheeke and Brian Cheeke. Cross bearer was Dwayne Evans.

COLLINS, Anna Mary
Passed peacefully away at the US Memorial Health Care Centre, St. Lawrence on Sunday, June 12th Anna Mary Collins of Allan's Island, Lamaline, age 94 years. Predeceased by her parents William and Lucy Stacey; husband William and grandchildren Mark Pearson, Jeffrey Jones and Baby Ben Dominie. Leaving to mourn are daughters Laura Pearson, Lucy Dray (Frank), Patricia White (Sam), Maureen Power (George), Bernie Strickland (Ron), and Kay Jones (Felix); 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass was conducted by Father Frank Puddister from St. Joseph's Church, Allan's Island on Wednesday, June 15th, at 11 a.m. Interment followed at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Allan's Island. Music was provided by sister Maureen Lawlor and Rick Power, vocal by Collette Dominie, Reflection Song by Bertha Fitzpatrick and Yvonne Roul. Pallbearers were Bill Strickland, Ron Strickland, Michael Power, Darrell Power, Jeremy Jones and Wayne Pearson. Cross bearer was David Strickland. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank "Where dedicated people care."

DODGE, Sandra
Passed peacefully away June 8, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Sandra Dodge of Winterland. She was 54 years old. Predeceased by her parents Leslie and Esther. Left to mourn are husband John, son Allan (wife Sherri) of Winterland and grandson Alex. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Nellie (Herbert), Flora (James) and Joan (Ed); brothers Lorne (June) Melvin (Marie) and Chris (Mona); special nephew Marshall, brother-in-law Dave (Maureen) sisters-in-law Ruth (Charles), Leah (Dave), and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Jean Lane conducted funeral service Saturday, June 11 at Grace United Church, Winterland with interment at the Grace United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot he care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Clarence Senior, Terry Moulton, Dwayne Kenway, John Gover, John Loughlin and Fred Collins.

Passed peacefully away June 14 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Stan Farrell of Little Bay. He was 84 years old. Predeceased by parents John Patrick and Hannah Farrell, brother Ronald Jack, Will and sister Mary Ann. Left to mourn are wife Florence; sons Ron (Clara) of Houston, BC, Stan (Carol) of Prince Rupert, BC, John (Brenda) of Little Bay, Neil of Marystown, Terry and Kelvin (Kathy) of Mississauga and Fabian (Dee) of St. Steven, New Brunswick; daughters Martha (David Mcintyre) of Ottawa, Ont., Anita (Reg Cole) of Fermuse, Daphne of Mississauga, Hannah (Cliff Hatcher) of Mississauga and Florence (Kevin Duggan) of Georgetown, Ont. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Violet Kilfoy of Little Bay, Bridget Kilfoy of Marystown and Hannah Ryan of St. John's; brother Edward Farrell (Isabelle) of Little Bay, 24 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown, Friday, June 17 with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Little Bay. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Ron Farrell, Stan Farrell, John Farrell, Neil Farrell, Terry Farrell and Kelvin Farrell. Cross bearer was Fabian Farrell.

HACKETT, Catherine F.
Passed peacefully away June 18, at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Catherine F. Hackett of St. Bernard's. She was 92 years old. Predeceased by husband Jerome, sons Charlie and Clarence, and grandson Lloyd. Left to mourn are sons Jerome (wife Mary Francis), Manuel (wife Phyllis) and Bill (wife Margaret) all of St. Bernard's; daughters Pearl (husband Kevin Johnston) of St. Bernard's and Marjorie (husband George Hynes) of Marystown. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Anne Hynes of Jacques Fontaine, 36 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Jeff Kolonel conducted the funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, St. Bernard's, Monday, June 20 with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard's. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Jerry Hynes, Cyril Johnston, Toby Hackett, Bradley Hackett, Troy Hackett and Rod Hackett. Cross bearer was Cindi Campbell.

Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Hospital St. John's on Monday, May 30th, 2005 Reginald R. King of Lamaline, age 79 years. Predeceased by parents Thomas & Margaret King, two sisters Adelaide King, Lucy Cake, one brother Gerald King. He leaves to mourn wife Bernadette, two sons John (Jean), Robert (Sue), Donald (Madonna) one daughter Margaret (James), eight grandchildren Philip (Karen), John Jr. (Kerri Lynn), Blair (Lorna), Chad, Scott (Jennifer) Tina (Colin), Tracy, James Jr., two great-grandchildren Nolan and Adrianna, one sister Mary O'Gay (Harry) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. James Pollard conducted funeral service from St. Mary's Anglican Church Lamaline on Thursday June 2nd, 2005. With interment in St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery Lamaline. Organist was Susan Lovell, pallbearers were Sam King, Scott King, Philip King, Robert King, Edwin Cale, Keith Cake. Funeral arrangement entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home Grand Bank where dedicated people care.

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on June 1st, 2005 George Lambe of Lawn in his 64th year.  Predeceased by parents - Anne and Isaac; brother Isaac Jr.; sister-in-law Mary. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Josephine; sons Rodney of Lawn, Sam (Julie) of Lawn, Ross (Marlene) of St. John's; daughter Kate (Carmen) of Lawn;  grandchildren Sammy, Cody, Carter, Brandon, Matthew and Colby; special nieces Ashley and Amy; brothers Cecil, Paul (Mary), Bob (Sharon), Pad (Mary) Harvey (Yvonne), Jerome (Thelma); sisters Edith (Jimmy), Louise (Ike), Mary, Anne, Essie plus a large circle of other family and friends. MITCHELL, George
Passed suddenly away Wednesday, May 11 at his home in Terrenceville, George Mitchell. He was 91 years old. Predeceased by brothers Patrick and John; sisters Gladys, Irene and Alice; parents William and Elizabeth. Left to mourn are wife Mary; daughters Rita of Terrenceville and Theresa (husband Tom) of Labrador City; granddaughters Verna (Pierce) of Terrenceville, Paula (Sheldon) of London, Ontario, Lana (Dion) of Fort McMurray and Krista of Labrador City; grandson Tommy (Shiloe) of Fort McMurray. Also leaving to mourn sisters Theresa Coombs of Terrenceville, Elizabeth Myles of Terrenceville and Ester Cox of Sackville and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at his residence in Lawn on May 30th Frederick Pike of Lawn in his 70th year. Predeceased by wife Maude; brother Harry; sisters Sarah and Mary. Passed away suddenly June 12 at her home in Little Bay, Maude Power. She was 61 years old. Passed peacefully away at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on June 7, 2005, Caroline Smith of Red Harbour in her 92nd year. Predeceased by husband John J., Son Scott, daughter Eileen, grandson, Rodney, great-grandson, Corey, sons-in-law, Bertram and Willis Butler and daughter -in-law Eleanor Smith. Leaving to mourn: sons Austin (Viola) of Edmonton, AB., Clarence (wife Shirley) of Red Harbour. Daughters: Amy Butler of Bain Harbour, Alice Butler of Burin. Brother, James Peach of Foxtrap. 24 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Oscar Elms at Wesley United Church in Red Harbour on June 9 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at United Church Cemetery in Red Harbour. Passed peacefully away at Blue Crest Inter-faith Home, Grand Bank on Tuesday, May 24th, Vera B. Snook of Grand Bank, age 77 years. Predeceased by husband Maurice; parents Manuel and Elsie Pittman, and brother Manuel Pittman Jr. Leaving to mourn are son Bill (Colleen) at St. John's; and sister Blanche Hollett at Grand Bank. Funeral Service was conducted by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman from Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Thursday, May 26th, at 2 p.m. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Left to mourn daughters: Lori White (Paul) at Grand Bank, Bessy Harper at Moncton, NB; sons George (Madeline) at Point May, Wilson Carroll at Ont., 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters Sarah Hiscock at Fortune, Lillian Aryers at Burin, Lucy Caines at Blue Crest Home, Grand Bank. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Captains Anthony & Beverley Dart-Stokes from the Salvation Army Citadel, Fortune on Thursday, June 16th, 2005, with interment in Salvation Army Cemetery Fortune. Music by David Noftall & Winston Matchem, Duet by Dinah Caines & Glenda Bowles. Pallbearers were grandsons, Caleb White and Robert Carroll; son-in-law Paul White; nephews: Rennie Stacey, Tony Caines & Johnny Caines; nieces Marie Grandy & Jackie Brady. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank, where we believe in serving others as we ourselves would like to be served.
