AYERS, Lillian Beatrice
(September 14, 1932 - July 21, 2007)

Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Saturday, July 21, 2007, Lillian B. Ayers of Fortune, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents Arch and Bertha Thorne; sister Bertha; brothers George, Ben and Arch Jr. and husband George. Leaving to mourn sisters Sarah Hiscock at Fortune and Lucy Caines at the Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank. Funeral Service was conducted by Captain Charlene Hillier from the Salvation Army Citadel Fortune at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 23rd. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Fortune. Music was provided by Claude Dunne and CarolAnn Randell. Pallbearers were: Paul White, Laura White, Marie Grandy, Jackie Brady, George Carroll and Rennie Stacey. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Fortune. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank: "Where Dedicated People Care."

CLARKE, Christopher Richard
Beloved son of Rita Clarke of Brooks, passed away suddenly on July 3, 2007 at the age of 25 years. Born in Grand Bank, Newfoundland on September 24, 1981, Chris completed his schooling at John Burke High School in Grand Bank. He had resided in Brooks since 2001 and was currently employed with Eagle Well Service. He loved to play golf, pool and poker. Chris will be lovingly remembered as a loving father; for his good sense of humour; for his outgoing, friendly and caring nature; for being a hard worker and for having strong family values. He was predeceased by his father Richard on November 7, 2006. Chris is survived by his loving family, son Nathan Clarke, mother Rita, brother Michael and sister Crystal Matthews and her husband Shawn. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 9th from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Theiss officiated. CLARKE, Emily Laura
Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin, on July 16, 2007, Emily Laura Clarke of Little Bay East in her 63rd year. Leaving to mourn her loving sons Rex (Tammi) of Victoria, BC and Troy (Melanie) of Ontario, sister Elizabeth Hiscock, Grand Bank, four grandchildren Kyle, Kristen, Zachary and Kaitlyn and a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Angus.Donations in her memory may be made to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Chemo Unit. Memorial Service was conducted by Rev. COLLINS, Charlotte Margaret
Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre Thursday, January 11, 2007, in the presence of her loving family, Charlotte Margaret Collins, formerly of Point May in her 72nd year. predeceased by her husband William Collins, sister Beatrice Hewitt and brother Raphael Stacey. Left with cherished memories are her sons Ronald and Danny (Rhonda); daughters Rowena (Alan Huber), Gail (Peter Harrison) and Cathy Francis; grandchildren Shannon Kaytor, Brittany and Haleigh Huber, Carley and Melanie Harrison, William and Kaitlin Francis, and Devon and Colby Collins; great-grandchildren Jackson and Zoë Kaytor; sisters Mable Kleener and Madeline Drake. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In accordance with her wish, cremation had taken place. Inurnment of ashes took place from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown Thursday, July 12. EDWARDS, Sylvester
Passed peacefully away at the U.S. memorial Health Care Centre Sunday, July 22, 2007, Sylvester Edwards of Lawn in his 72nd year. Predeceased by daughter Susan; brothers Peter and Irvin; sisters Lena Martin, Evelyn Norway and Susan McKenna. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Kate; sons Frank (Rosella) of Lawn, David (Kim) of Portugal Cove, Scott (Lilly) of St. John`s, Sylvester Jr. (Margaret) of Lawn and Christopher (Amanda) of Edmonton; daughters Linda (Leonard) Fitzpatrick of Lawn and Connie (Expedite) Drake of Lawn; sisters Ellen Mary Kearney, Martha Edwards and Blanche Billard; brothers Chris Edwards, Andy Edwards and Mike Edwards; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild,plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral Mass took place from holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic church in Lawn Tuesday, July 24th. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lawn. Passed peacefully away at the St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on July 19, 2007, Winnie Green, formerly of Tack's Beach age 84 years. HANNEM, Ernestine Margaret
(1904 - 2007)

passed peacefully away at the U.S. Memorial Hospital, St. Lawrence on July 10, 2007, Ernestine Hannem of Burin age 102 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories daughters Bernice and husband Henry Brenton and Noreen and husband Leonard Mallay of Marystown; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husband Robert; grandson Wayne; son-in-law Henry Loder; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Father Theodore O'Connor officiated mass on July 13th from St. Patrick's Parish Church, Burin with interment following at R.C. Cemetery, Salt Pond. Passed peacefully away at the U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre in St. Lawrence, on July 31, 2007, Hayward Seymore Hodder of Creston North in his 92nd year. Leaving to mourn his loving sons Earl (Edna) of Creston north, Gerald (Carrie) of Sherwood Park, AB, daughters Emily (Bill Taylor) of Creston South, Lydia (Jim Mallay) of Marystown, brother Byron Hodder (Eunice) of Creston North, 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his wife Alice, sons Ronald, brothers Sam, Wilson, Clyde, John, Stanley, Raymond and sister Lydia. Donations in his memory may be made to the Creston North United Church Memorial Fund. HODDER, Leslie Roger
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at The Scarborough General Hospital on Tuesday, July 2, 2007, at age 54, loving husband and best friend of Donna and devoted father of Chad. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Eliza Hodder. Les will be sadly missed by his sisters: Vivian Ingram (Wes), Frances Howse (Wilson), Olive Ingram, Linda Herbert (Garry Glover), Marilyn Hodder, Katherine Grishaber (Brian), Dallas Franklin (Michael Reyes), Donna Woods (Doug) and brothers: Will (Louise), Norm (Donna). Les will be remembered by his loving aunts and their families, Mary Jane Farewell in Creston South, Lydia Appleby in Burin Bay Arm, Betty Wiscombe of Ontario and Joyce Gerred (Al) of Ontario. A memorial service was held at the Pine Hills Visitation Chapel, Scarborough on Friday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m.

Passed suddenly away Sunday, July 29, 2007, Rodney Gordon Ralph Hodder of Creston South in his 35th year. Predeceased by grandfathers Walter Hodder and Ernest Francis. Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Interfaith Home, Grand Bank on Monday, July 23, 2007, Elizabeth (Betty) J. Woodland of Grand Bank, age 72 years. Funeral service was conducted by CSM Kathy Bungay from The Salvation Army Grand Bank at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25th. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Music was provided by David Noseworthy and Herbert Dunford. Pallbearers were: Jack Cumben, Cyril Parsons, Cecil Dicks, Yvonne Barter, Colleen Stansbury, Beverly Follett, Helena Breon and Shirley Strickland. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand bank: “Where Dedicated People Care.”
