Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on June
22nd,
Lyndsey Antle of Marystown in her 22nd year. Predeceased
by grandfathers Clayton Antle and Samuel Lambe, and step-grandfather James Durnford.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories mother Gwen; father Gary; stepfather
Leo; sister Courtney; grandmothers Annie Lambe and Carmel Antle, plus a large
circle of other family and friends. Funeral Mass was officiated by Father Charlie
Kelly from Sacred Heart Parish Church, Marystown on June 27th with
interment following at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fox Cove. Pallbearers were Deon
Matthews, Tommy Antle, Bradley Kirby, Curtis Walsh, Andrew Mounton and Stephen
Warren. Cross Bearer was Tim Eltahan. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to

BAKER, Margaret
Passed suddenly away July 4, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula
Health Care Centre, Margaret Baker of Harbour Mille. She was 69 years old.
Predeceased by husband Felix, sons Randell and Samuel. Left to mourn are sons
Arthur (wife Betty), Ernest (wife Lisa) of Bay L'Argent, William (wife Shirley)
of Salt Pond, daughters Mary (husband Albert Marshall) of Pool's Cove, Susie
(husband Gordon Saint) of St. Bernard's, Joan (husband Gerry Hynes) of St.
Bernard's, Ethel (husband Larry Grandy) of Garnish. Also leaving to mourn sister
Mary of Cambridge, Ontario, stepbrothers Edward of Cape Ray, Douglas of Nova
Scotia, 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a large circle of other
relatives and friends. Reverend Charlie Harris conducted funeral mass at St.
Mary's Anglican Church, Harbour Mille, Wednesday, July 6 with interment at
the St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Mille. Funeral arrangements were
entrusted tot he care of White Dove Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Scott Baker,
Edwards Baker, Terrence Baker, George Baker, Chesley Tibbo and Leroy Baker.

BRINTON, Charles J.
Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear, NL on June
22, 2005, Charles J. Brinton of Marystown in his 66th year. Leaving
to mourn, wife Evelyn Marie. Sons: Roger (wife Jeanette) of St. John's. Daughters:
Rose (husband Rev. Byron Barter) of Foxtrap. Brothers: William and wife Alice
Brinton of Marystown. Grandson Matthew Barter, and a large circle of relatives
and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Father Charlie Kelly and assisted
by Rev. Byron Barter & Capt.
Laverne Fudge at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown on June 24,
2005 at 10 a.m. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Garnish. Donations
to his memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Pallbearers were: Howard
Mallay, John Mallay, Anthony Kelly, Brian Mallay, James Mallay, and John Hanrahan.
Cross bearer was his grandson Matthew Barter. Funeral arrangements entrusted

CLARKE, Dorothy Matilda (nee Turpin)
Dorothy Matilda Clarke (nee Turpin) died at the U.S. Memorial Health
Centre, St. Lawrence June 29 at age 93. Born in Little St.
Lawrence, she was the daughter of Alphonsus Turpin and Frances Walsh. She was
predeceased by her husband Archibald, and her daughters Laura and Delores.
Affectionately known as "Aunt Doll", she
was the oldest members of her community and the last surviving member of
her family. Left to mourn are daughters Margaret Aylward, Meadowvale, N.S.
and Donna (Leroy) Kendell, Gander; sons Peter of Halifax, NS, Alphonsus
(Bud) (Theresa) of Bird Cove, Kevin (Rosalynd) of Brookfield, NS, Adrian
(Gloria) Churchill Falls and Brendan (Lise) of Ottawa, Ontario, 25 grandchildren
and 23 great-grandchildren. In her younger years Aunt Doll was a teacher.
After her marriage she ran a General Store for several years. She was widely
traveled as she visited her family each winter in several provinces, returning
to her home in early spring. She enjoyed spring, summer and early fall
in her home where she entertained many visitors, family and friends. She
was well known for her hospitality and one could always drop in for a cup
of tea and a bun. She loved a game of cards, was an excellent knitter and
avid gardener in her later years. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas
Aquinas Church and an active member of St. Anne's Sodality. Aunt Doll supported
the charity bazaars with her home-knit socks, which she continued to knit
until her recent illness. Aunt Doll was a strong independent woman, who
possessed a deep faith. She will be sadly missed by her family and her
wide circle of friends. Funeral was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic
Church Monday, July 4, with burial at Mount Cecilia Cemetery. Funeral arrangements
were entrusted to White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Donations, in her memory,
may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Passed away suddenly at his residence in Grand Bank on Friday,
July 15, 2005 John Douglas, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents James and
Eva Douglas; brothers: Wesley and Aaron. Leaving to mourn is one sister Una
Courage (Levi) at Bull's Cove, Burin; tow brothers: James (Verna) at Prince
George, BC., Kenneth (Joan) at Lower Sackville, NS: cousins: Una Stacey (Kenneth)

(George) and family at Grand Bank, Kenneth Bungay (Gladys) and family at Fortune,
Mrs. Ada Bungay at Fortune, Mrs. Emily Bungay at Saint John, NB., Mrs. Elizabeth
McGraw and family at Grand Prairie, AB. Also a large circle of relatives and
friends. Funeral service was conducted by Captains Anthony and Beverley Dart
Stokes from the Salvation Army Citadel, Fortune on Sunday, July 17, 2005 with
interment in Salvation Army Cemetery, Fortune. Music provided by David Noftall

FOOTE, Rita
Passed peacefully away July 15, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula Health
Care Centre, Rita Foote of Parker's Cove. She was 82 years old. Predeceased
by husband John. Left to mourn are sons: John (wife Helen) and Gerard of Parker's

GRANDY, Samuel James
Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Inter-Faith
Home, Grand Bank on Saturday, July 2, 2005, Samuel James Grandy of
Grand Bank, age 82 years. Predeceased by his parents George and Selina Grandy;
son Gordon; brothers Jimmy and Simeon; and sisters Annie, Harriett and Emily.
He leaves to mourn his wife Dulcie; daughter Geneva Rideout (Fred Nurse)
at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; sons, Tom (Gladys) at Grand Bank, John (Sharon)
at Grand Bank and Roy (Denise) at Grand Bank; and daughter-in-law Amy Grandy
(Jack Bungay) at Grand Bank; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, also
a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted
at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank
by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman. Music was provided by the Salvation Army
Bank and David Noseworthy, Herbert Dunford and George Grandy. A tribute was
given by nephew Eric Grandy, and a vocal by nephew George Grandy, and Scripture
Reading by daughter-in-law Amy Grandy. Pallbearers were: Eric Grandy, Albert
Peach, Sim Hickman, Garfield Hickman, Deanne Grandy, and Annette Price. Funeral
arrangements were by Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank, "Where Dedicated People

Passed suddenly away Michael Jarvis of Lawn. He was 52 years
old. Predeceased by father David, brothers Julian and Brian. Left to mourn

Passed peacefully away June 27 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Herman
Mullins of Rencontre East. He was 76 years old. Predeceased by parents, two

NOSEWORTHY, Alice Lillian
Died tragically as the result of a car accident,
on July 2, 2005 in her 81st year, alongside her granddaughter
Johanna. Predeceased by her husband James R. (Jim) retired RNC, in 1988. Leaving
to mourn with loving memories her children, Bob (Louise) of Mount Pearl, Sandra
Sullivan (Rick) of Dartmouth, N.S., Phil (Velda) of Mount Pearl, randy (Marilyn)
of Mount Pearl, Reuben (Barbara) of Garnish. Grandchildren Allison (Fiancé Mark),
Julie, Sheri-Lynn, Dawn, Jeffrey, Kimberley, Danny and Michael. sister Norma
Benson and sister-in-law Margaret Tipple of Mount Pearl. Brothers-in-law Hubert
(Mona) of Chapel Arm and Eliol (Sharon) of Kingston, Ont., as well as many
other relatives and friends, especially those of the 50 plus club and St. George's
Court. Celebration of life was at St. Augustine's church, Elizabeth Avenue,
St. John's on July 7th and interment followed from the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount

Theresa Turpinof St. Lawrence in her 65th year. Predeceased
by parents Ellen and Richard Briand and brother Richard Brian. Leaving to mourn
