ANTLE, Lyndsey Anne
January 20, 1953 - June 22, 2005

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on June 22nd, Lyndsey Antle of Marystown in her 22nd year. Predeceased by grandfathers Clayton Antle and Samuel Lambe, and step-grandfather James Durnford. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories mother Gwen; father Gary; stepfather Leo; sister Courtney; grandmothers Annie Lambe and Carmel Antle, plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral Mass was officiated by Father Charlie Kelly from Sacred Heart Parish Church, Marystown on June 27th with interment following at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fox Cove. Pallbearers were Deon Matthews, Tommy Antle, Bradley Kirby, Curtis Walsh, Andrew Mounton and Stephen Warren. Cross Bearer was Tim Eltahan. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE."

BAKER, Margaret
Passed suddenly away July 4, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Margaret Baker of Harbour Mille. She was 69 years old. Predeceased by husband Felix, sons Randell and Samuel. Left to mourn are sons Arthur (wife Betty), Ernest (wife Lisa) of Bay L'Argent, William (wife Shirley) of Salt Pond, daughters Mary (husband Albert Marshall) of Pool's Cove, Susie (husband Gordon Saint) of St. Bernard's, Joan (husband Gerry Hynes) of St. Bernard's, Ethel (husband Larry Grandy) of Garnish. Also leaving to mourn sister Mary of Cambridge, Ontario, stepbrothers Edward of Cape Ray, Douglas of Nova Scotia, 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Charlie Harris conducted funeral mass at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Harbour Mille, Wednesday, July 6 with interment at the St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Mille. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot he care of White Dove Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Scott Baker, Edwards Baker, Terrence Baker, George Baker, Chesley Tibbo and Leroy Baker.

BRINTON, Charles J.
Passed peacefully away at Carbonear General Hospital, Carbonear, NL on June 22, 2005, Charles J. Brinton of Marystown in his 66th year. Leaving to mourn, wife Evelyn Marie. Sons: Roger (wife Jeanette) of St. John's. Daughters: Rose (husband Rev. Byron Barter) of Foxtrap. Brothers: William and wife Alice Brinton of Marystown. Grandson Matthew Barter, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Father Charlie Kelly and assisted by Rev. Byron Barter & Capt. Laverne Fudge at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown on June 24, 2005 at 10 a.m. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Garnish. Donations to his memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Pallbearers were: Howard Mallay, John Mallay, Anthony Kelly, Brian Mallay, James Mallay, and John Hanrahan. Cross bearer was his grandson Matthew Barter. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Geoff Lomond of Peninsula Funeral Home Ltd., Creston South.

CLARKE, Dorothy Matilda (nee Turpin)
Dorothy Matilda Clarke (nee Turpin)
died at the U.S. Memorial Health Centre, St. Lawrence June 29 at age 93. Born in Little St. Lawrence, she was the daughter of Alphonsus Turpin and Frances Walsh. She was predeceased by her husband Archibald, and her daughters Laura and Delores. Affectionately known as "Aunt Doll", she was the oldest members of her community and the last surviving member of her family. Left to mourn are daughters Margaret Aylward, Meadowvale, N.S. and Donna (Leroy) Kendell, Gander; sons Peter of Halifax, NS, Alphonsus (Bud) (Theresa) of Bird Cove, Kevin (Rosalynd) of Brookfield, NS, Adrian (Gloria) Churchill Falls and Brendan (Lise) of Ottawa, Ontario, 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In her younger years Aunt Doll was a teacher. After her marriage she ran a General Store for several years. She was widely traveled as she visited her family each winter in several provinces, returning to her home in early spring. She enjoyed spring, summer and early fall in her home where she entertained many visitors, family and friends. She was well known for her hospitality and one could always drop in for a cup of tea and a bun. She loved a game of cards, was an excellent knitter and avid gardener in her later years. She was a devoted member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and an active member of St. Anne's Sodality. Aunt Doll supported the charity bazaars with her home-knit socks, which she continued to knit until her recent illness. Aunt Doll was a strong independent woman, who possessed a deep faith. She will be sadly missed by her family and her wide circle of friends. Funeral was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church Monday, July 4, with burial at Mount Cecilia Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Donations, in her memory, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

DOUGLAS, John
Passed away suddenly at his residence in Grand Bank on Friday, July 15, 2005 John Douglas, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents James and Eva Douglas; brothers: Wesley and Aaron. Leaving to mourn is one sister Una Courage (Levi) at Bull's Cove, Burin; tow brothers: James (Verna) at Prince George, BC., Kenneth (Joan) at Lower Sackville, NS: cousins: Una Stacey (Kenneth) and family at Point May, Harry and David Bungay at Fortune, Lillian Keeping (George) and family at Grand Bank, Kenneth Bungay (Gladys) and family at Fortune, Mrs. Ada Bungay at Fortune, Mrs. Emily Bungay at Saint John, NB., Mrs. Elizabeth McGraw and family at Grand Prairie, AB. Also a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Captains Anthony and Beverley Dart Stokes from the Salvation Army Citadel, Fortune on Sunday, July 17, 2005 with interment in Salvation Army Cemetery, Fortune. Music provided by David Noftall and Winston Mahchem. Pallbearers were: Harvey Courage, Levi Courage, Randy Courage, Kenneth Stacey, David Matthews and Kenneth Bungay. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank where we believe in serving others as we would like to be served.

FOOTE, Rita
Passed peacefully away July 15, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Rita Foote of Parker's Cove. She was 82 years old. Predeceased by husband John. Left to mourn are sons: John (wife Helen) and Gerard of Parker's Cove. Also leaving to mourn are sister Melinda Murphy of Parker's Cove; brothers Clayton Synard (Urusla) and Fred Bernadine); two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Jeff Kolonel conducted funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic church, Parker's Cove Monday, July 18 with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Parker's Cove. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot he care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Pallbearers were Justin Murphy, Dennis Murphy, David Synard, Samuel Synard, Gerry Murphy and Ronald Picco. Cross bearer was Tony Synard.

GRANDY, Samuel James
Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Inter-Faith Home, Grand Bank on Saturday, July 2, 2005, Samuel James Grandy of Grand Bank, age 82 years. Predeceased by his parents George and Selina Grandy; son Gordon; brothers Jimmy and Simeon; and sisters Annie, Harriett and Emily. He leaves to mourn his wife Dulcie; daughter Geneva Rideout (Fred Nurse) at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia; sons, Tom (Gladys) at Grand Bank, John (Sharon) at Grand Bank and Roy (Denise) at Grand Bank; and daughter-in-law Amy Grandy (Jack Bungay) at Grand Bank; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 from the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman. Music was provided by the Salvation Army Bank and David Noseworthy, Herbert Dunford and George Grandy. A tribute was given by nephew Eric Grandy, and a vocal by nephew George Grandy, and Scripture Reading by daughter-in-law Amy Grandy. Pallbearers were: Eric Grandy, Albert Peach, Sim Hickman, Garfield Hickman, Deanne Grandy, and Annette Price. Funeral arrangements were by Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank, "Where Dedicated People Care."

JARVIS, Michael
Passed suddenly away Michael Jarvis of Lawn. He was 52 years old. Predeceased by father David, brothers Julian and Brian. Left to mourn are his loving mom Margaret. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Marguerite O'Driscoll (Thomas), Marion Aylward (Magella), Alfreda Brockerville (John), Theresa Jarvis (Jack), Pauline Edwards (Wade), Sharon Clifford (Jim), brothers Fred (Mary), David Jr. (Nancy), Randy (Tenesh) and Mario and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Frank Puddister conducted funeral mass at Holy Name of Jesus, Lawn, Saturday, July 16, 2005 with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lawn. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot he care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Mario Jarvis, Adam Brockerville, Fred Jarvis, Jack Browne, David O'Driscoll and Wade Edwards. Crossbearer was Randy Jarvis.

MULLINS, Herman
Passed peacefully away June 27 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Herman Mullins of Rencontre East. He was 76 years old. Predeceased by parents, two sisters and one brother. Left to mourn are wife Catherine; daughters Marilyn of St. John's, Glenda of Halifax, Carol of Halifax, Elaine (husband George Fiander) of Hermitage and Kim (husband Neil Ollerhead) of St. John's. Also leaving to mourn are sister Freda of Lewin's Cove, brother Don of Lark Harbour, grandchildren Matthew, Billy and Karla; great-grandchildren Jarod, Kaitlin and Jodi and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Simms conducted funeral services at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Rencontre East, Friday, July 1 with interment at St. Stephen's Anglican Cemetery, Rencontre East. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Tom Caines, Gordon Caines, Chris Dyke, Andy Giovannini, Ashley Giovannini and Tony Giovannini.

NOSEWORTHY, Alice Lillian
Died tragically as the result of a car accident, on July 2, 2005 in her 81st year, alongside her granddaughter Johanna. Predeceased by her husband James R. (Jim) retired RNC, in 1988. Leaving to mourn with loving memories her children, Bob (Louise) of Mount Pearl, Sandra Sullivan (Rick) of Dartmouth, N.S., Phil (Velda) of Mount Pearl, randy (Marilyn) of Mount Pearl, Reuben (Barbara) of Garnish. Grandchildren Allison (Fiancé Mark), Julie, Sheri-Lynn, Dawn, Jeffrey, Kimberley, Danny and Michael. sister Norma Benson and sister-in-law Margaret Tipple of Mount Pearl. Brothers-in-law Hubert (Mona) of Chapel Arm and Eliol (Sharon) of Kingston, Ont., as well as many other relatives and friends, especially those of the 50 plus club and St. George's Court. Celebration of life was at St. Augustine's church, Elizabeth Avenue, St. John's on July 7th and interment followed from the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road, St. John's. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Shriner's Patient Fund or a charity of one's choice.

NOSEWORTHY, Johanna Amy Lillian
Died tragically as the result of a car accident at the young age of 18, alongside her grandmother, Alice Lillian Noseworthy, on July 2, 2005. Leaving to mourn with great sadness, her parents Barbara and Reuben Noseworthy, brother Michael of Garnish. Grandparents Walt and Inez Stanley of George's Brook. Uncles: Bob Noseworthy (Louise) of Mount Pearl, Phil Noseworthy (Velda) of Mount Pearl, Randy Noseworthy (Marilyn) of Mount Pearl; Aunts: Sandra Sullivan (Rick) of Dartmouth, N.S., Linda Blackmore (Albert) of George's Brook; Cousins: Allison Noseworthy, Julie Noseworthy, Jeffrey Noseworthy, Kimberley Noseworthy, Sheri-Lynn Penney, Dawn Noseworthy, Danny Noseworthy, Walter Blackmore, Steven Blackmore and Richard Blackmore as well as many other relatives and friends. Mr. Oscar Elms and Mr. Austin March officiated Funeral Service at Garnish. donations in her memory may be made to Burin Health Care Foundation or Garnish Playground. Pallbearers were Danny Noseworthy, Jeffrey Noseworthy, Walter Blackmore, Seven Noseworthy, Richard Blackmore and Quinton Day.

Passed suddenly away at his home in Burin Bay on July 5, 2005 Edward Ian Paul, age 41 years. Predeceased by wife Darlene, parents Teddy and Dorothy and brothers George and Wallace. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sisters Ruth Paul of Burin Bay, Maxine and husband (Randy Browne) of Spaniard's Bay, Cindy and husband (Shawn Stapleton) of Marystown; brothers Donald and wife (Ethel) of Burin Bay, Collier (Bill) and wife (Janice) of Lewin's Cove, Ralph and wife (Donna) of Burin Bay, Clyde and wife (Corina) of Burin Bay Arm, Bradley and wife (Leta) of Burin Bay, Mother and Father-in-law Denisine and Fred Brenton plus a large circle of other family and friends. Mr. Oscar Elms officiated funeral service on July 9 from Zion United Church, Collin's Cove with interment following at RC Cemetery, Salt Pond. POWER, Ida
Passed peacefully away July 4, 2005 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Ida Power of Marystown. She was 61 years old. Left to mourn are husband Frank, sons Frank (Glenda) of St. John's, David (Francine) of Marystown, Dennis of Marystown, Stephen (Alice) St. John's, daughters Tracy (husband Ron Hunter) of St. John's. Also leaving to mourn sisters Anne, Elizabeth and Joan and brother Jerry, five grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown, Saturday, July 9 with interment at the Sacred heart Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Jerry Quinlan, Ron Hunter, David Power, Stephen Power, Frank Power and Dennis Power. Crossbearers were Joshua and Lucas Power.

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Sunday, July 17, 2005 Beatrice M. Price of Grand Bank age 64 years. Predeceased by parents Chesley and Frances Price. Left to mourn are five sisters: Elizabeth Keeping (Freeman) at Burlington, ON, Alfreda Monster (Albert) at Red Deer, AB., Dora Coombs (William) at Grand Bank, Maude Matthews (Claude) at St. John's, Lorraine Griffin (Brian) at Isle au Morte; three brothers: Albert (Elsie) at Grand Bank, Joe (Audrey) at Milltown, Bay D'Espoir, Chesley (Amy) at Grand Bank, also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Michael Li on Wednesday, July 20, 2005, 2 p.m. from St. Alban's Anglican Church, Grand Bank, interment at St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery. Organist was Karen Li; Pallbearers were: Clinton Grandy, Glen Price, Rick Stone, Chris Stone, James Monster and Albert Hillier. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank where we believe in serving others as we would like to be served.

TURPIN, Theresa
February 25, 1940 - June 15, 2005

Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on June 15th, Theresa Turpinof St. Lawrence in her 65th year. Predeceased by parents Ellen and Richard Briand and brother Richard Brian. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories husband Phil; sons Richard of Outer Cove and Tim (Andrea) of St. Lawrence; daughter Mary Ellen (Juan) of Outer Cove; one granddaughter; four grandsons; sister Ann-Marie (Ernest Turpin) of St. Lawrence; plus a large circle of other family and friends. Father Frank Puddister officiated the funeral Mass on June 18th from St. Thomas Aquinas R.C. Church, St. Lawrence with interment following at Mount Cecilia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony Champdiozeau, John Slaney, Dennis Turpin, John Hynes, Edward Turpin and Ross Tarrant. Cross Bearer was Edward Kelly. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE."
