BAKER, Carlson Eugene
Passed peacefully away at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on July 10, 2004, Carlson Eugene Baker of Epworth, NL in his 59th year. Predeceased by parents Margaret and Scott Baker, brother John. Leaving to mourn brother Leroy (wife Phyllis) of Epworth; sisters Sylvia (husband Sam Moulton) of Burin Bay, Suzanne (husband Austin Smith) of St. John's; sister-in-law Gertie Baker of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; homecare givers Yvonne and Eric Legge, Burin Bay Arm; homecare workers Janice, Barbara, Hattie and Angelia; 6 nephews, 3 nieces and a large circle of relative and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jean Lane at Epworth United Church in Epworth on July 12, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at United Church Cemetery in Epworth, NL. Donations to his memory may be made to Epworth United Church Cemetery Fund. Pallbearers were nephews - Kim Moulton, John Baker, Kevin Smith, Scott Baker, Craig Smith, and Deon Yates. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Geoff Lomond of Peninsula Funeral Home Ltd., Creston South.

FIZZARD, Melvin Michael
Passed away suddenly at his home in Grand Le Pierre, NL on July 14th, 2004, Melvin Michael Fizzard of Grand Le Pierre in his 46th year. Predeceased by special grandfather Charles Kearley, father-in-law John Feltham and brother-in-law Harold Hynes. Leaving to mourn wife of 23 years Neta; sons: Lucas (wife Jackie) of Mount Pearl, NL; parents: Rev. Edward Fizzard and Irene of Grand Le pierre, NL; sisters: Marilyn Hynes of Grand Le Pierre, NL, Sandra (husband Tom Coombs) of Labrador City; Donna of Grand Le Pierre, Patricia of Orangeville, Ont., Roxanne (husband Vince Hancott) of Calgary, Alb; brothers: Eric of Labrador City, Roger (wife Marlene) of Grand Le Pierre; sisters-in-law: Audrey (George Collins), Dover; Pat (George Feltham) Gambo; Helen (James May), Dover; Rita (Frank Humby) Gander; Cavelle (Abe Pritchett), Dover; brothers-in-law: Charley Feltham, Mississauga, Ont; Ross, Dover, B. Bay; mother-in-law Naomi Feltham, Dover; very special aunt Leana Kearley, Grand Le Pierre; 2 special grandchildren Brooklyn and Abigail and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Fr. D. Barrett and Fr. G. Ollerhead at St. Thomas Anglican Church in Grand Le Pierre on July 18th. at 1:00 p.m. Interment was at Church Cemetery in Grand Le Pierre. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Family. Pallbearers were Andrew Fizzard, Tom Coombs, Don Fizzard, Abe Pritchett, Howard Labour, Calvin Byrd, Crossbearer: Stanley Byrd. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Geoff Lomond of Peninsula Funeral Home Ltd., Creston South.

Seymour J. Hiscock
, 64 of Fortune passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Saturday, July 10, 2004. Predeceased by father Willis and son Gary. He leaves to mourn wife Sarah; 4 daughters Patsy (Earl), Jackie (Danny), Lorna (Tony) and Penny (Loyola); 4 granddaughters Danielle, Heather, Gina and Holly. Mother Hazel MacDonald, step-father Cyril; 3 brothers Murdock (Grace), Lorne (Ella), Willis (Linda), 3 sisters Dinah (Cecil), Wavey (Fred), Winnie (George); nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Capts. Anthony and Beverley Stokes from the Salvation Army Citadel, Fortune, on Tuesday, July 13 at 2 p.m. Interment in Salvation Army Cemetery, music by David Noftall and Winston Matchem. Pallbearers were Tom Douglas, Junior King, George Riggs, Clarence Lake, Eric Piercey, Cyril Bonnell, Ron Thornhill and Dennis Laihton. Funeral arrangements by Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank where we believe in serving others as we ourselves would like to be served.

HOLLETT, Austin (Ross)
November 11, 1919 - June 24, 2004

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Thursday, June 24, 2004, Austin (Ross) Hollett of Burin in his 84th year. Predeceased by parents Stephen and Rosie Hollett, brother-in-law Curtis Barnes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Thelma, son Curtis of Labrador City; daughters Beryl (Henry Crant) of Labrador City, Dorothy (Joseph Baker) of Labrador City; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sister Martha Barnes of Clarenville. Rev. Susan White officiated the funeral service on June 26th from Zion United Church, Collin's Cove, with interment following at Zion United Cemetery, Collin's Cove. Pallbearers were Keith Powers, Keith Adams, Merle Darby, Leo Lundrigan, William Duffney, Gary Higgins. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE."

POWER, Richard
Richard Power
passed away on July 14, 2004 at his home in Marystown at the age of 58. he was predeceased by his parents Annie and Joseph Power, sister Elizabeth and brother Joseph. Left to mourn are his son Wayne (Ronnie) of Ontario and daughter Shery (Gerard Pickett) of Nova Scotia. Also left to mourn his sister Marion Adams (Kurt) of Marystown, brothers James (Josephine), Leonard (Betty) and Joseph (Margaret), all of Marystown; along with 5 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Father Charlie Kelly at Sacred Heart in Marystown on July 16. Interment was at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery in Marystown. Pallbearers were Vince Power, Dave Power, John Power, Rupert Pittman, Joseph Pittman and Vincent Antle, with Raymond Power as the cross bearer. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of the White Dove Funeral Home in Marystown.

ROUL, Kathleen
On July 11, 2004, Kathleen Roul, 83, of Lawn passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre. She was predeceased by her daughter Anna Mary (Ernest Drake) husband and father of her two children Edward Roul and husband Joseph Drake. Left to mourn are her three sons, William (Eileen) of Placentia, Freeman (Esther) of Lawn, and Robert of Lawn; and seven daughters, Mercedes (Paul) of Little St. Lawrence, Laura (Cyril) of Marystown, Eileen (Carl) of Lewin's Cove, Ellan (Jim) of Lawn, Madeline (Edwards) of Lawn, Sue (Andy) of Toronto and Kathy of Lawn; sisters Sal and Loretta and brothers Martin, Pad and Bill, as well as 45 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Frank Puddister conducted funeral services at the Holy Name of Jesus in Lawn on Tuesday, July 13, 2004. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery at Mount St. Anne's in Lawn. Pallbearers were Boyd Edwards, Mark Stacey, Jimmy Rogers, Bill Clarke, Eddy Roul and Geoff Tarrant with Keith Drake as cross bearer.

SAVOURY, Gordon G.
Passed suddenly away at Grand Bank Health Care Centre on Monday, June 28, 2004, Gordon G. Savoury of Grand Bank. Age 52 years. Predeceased by father Jeffrey, mother Edna, brother Arthur, father-in-law, Alvin Hyde, brother-in-law Roger Hyde and sister-in-law Amy Ledrew. Left to mourn are wife Helen, son Gordon (Nora), Katilyn, Derek, sisters Sheila Savoury, Pool's Cove, Karen Richards (Robert) of Edmonton, mother-in-law Emily Hyde of Grand Bank, brother-in-law Eddie Hyde (Meta) of Grand Bank, sister-in-law Edna Smith (Albert) of Grand Bank, sister-in-law Juanita Rose (Gordie) of Grand Bank, sister-in-law Marie Hyde of Terrenceville, brother-in-law Roy Ledrew of Comfort Cove, special friends Marilyn and Howard Thornhill of Fortune, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman on July 1 at 2 p.m. from Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank, with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery. Music provided by Herbert Dunford. Pallbearers were Wayne Savoury, Alex Hatcher, Henry Kelland, Henry Trimm, Jerry Barnes and George Keeping. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank. "Where dedicated people care."

TURPIN, Florence May
Passed peacefully away at the Trent Valley Lodge on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 Florence May Turpin (formerly of St. Lawrence) in her 92nd. year. Daughter of the late Henry and Emily Turpin. Beloved wife to Alfred Turpin. Dear mother of Josephine (Jo) Bootland and her husband Raymond of Whitby, Susan Finch and her husband Robert of St. John's, Sheila Christianson and her husband Ted of Trenton, Mary Low and her husband Denis of Trenton, Adolph and wife Joyce of New Lowell and Robert Turpin of North West Territories. Predeceased by sisters Lillian and Jessica and brothers Jerome and Cecil. Ever remembered by 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Funeral mass took place from St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 7 with Father Frank Puddister. Interment was at the Mount Cecilia Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown.
