APPLEBY, Donald
(July 26, 1935 - January 4, 2007)

Passed suddenly away at his residence on January 4, 2007, Donald Appleby of Lewin's Cove in his 71st year. Leaving to mourn Ruth Appleby; daughters Barbara (Jim Mullett) of Lewin's Cove, Noreen (Don Parsons) of Lewin's Cove, Diane (Ernest Clarke) of Lewin's Cove, Ella Warren (Melvin) of Creston South, Linda Appleby of Lewin's Cove, Bernice Appleby (Ian) of BC and Cathy Appleby (Phil) of BC; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Grace (Harold Noel) of Clarenville, Maw Gannon of NS and Laura Tibert of NS plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service was officiated by Majors Sandra and Gary Ward from Serenity Chapel, on January 8th with interment following at Salvation Army Cemetery, Big Salmonier. Pallbearers were Russell Inkpen, Fred Hawse, Wayne Isaacs, Harold Noel, Karl Hollett and Theodore Inkpen. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin "WE CARE." BARNES, Susie Jane
(May 30, 1908 - January 1, 2007)

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Monday, January 1, 2007, Susie Jane Barnes of Harbour Mille, age 98 years. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Sarah Jane Pardy; husband Roy; daughter Lucy; and grandson Thomas. Leaving to mourn: sons: Arthur (Josephine) at Harbour Mille; Reginald (Barbara) at Halifax, Nova Scotia; Stanley (Marie) at Clarenville; daughter Marion Scott (Cecil) at Little Harbour East; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; sister Hilda Barnes at Blue Crest Nursing Home, Grand Bank. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Charlie Harris on Thursday at 1 p.m. from St. Mary's Church, Harbour Mille. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Harbour Mille. Donations may be made to St. Mary's Anglican Church, harbour Mille. Organist was Mary Brown. Pallbearers were: Freeman Barnes, Fred Wall, Bert Wall, Harrison Barnes, Steven Barnes, Larry Barnes. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral home, Grand Bank. Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on January 2, 2007, Elizabeth Beazley of Big Salmonier in her 82nd year. Predeceased by husband Ewart; parents William and Beatrice Beazley and her brother William Beazley. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories son David and wife Janice of Fort Frances, Ontario; daughter Linda and husband Les Walters of Great Salmonier; grandsons Greg Beazley and wife Aimee of Fort Frances, Ontario, David Walters of London, Ontario, David Walters of London, Ontario; Shane Beazley and wife Lauren of Calgary, AB; great-grandchildren Carlee Rae and Braeden; sister Beatrice MacKeen of Kentville, NS; brother George Beazley of Halifax, NS; step-sister Caroline and husband Donald Brushett of Halifax, NS and a very special friend Ann Wagg of Lewin's Cove plus a large circle of other family and friends. BRUSHETT, Douglas J.
Passed peacefully away at the Blue Crest Home January 31, 2007, Douglas J. Brushett of Bull's Cove, Burin in his 92nd year. Predeceased by wife Victoria and three sons - Charlie, Leonard and George. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories son Gordon (Evelyn) and daughters Jessie Abbott and Elsie (Cecil Kavanagh) all of Bull's Cove, Burin; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers George Brushett (Frances) and Donald Brushett (Caroline) plus a large circle of relatives and friends. COLLINS, Charlotte (nee Stacey)
Passed peacefully away at the L.A. Miller Centre on Thursday, January 11, 2007, in the presence of her loving family, Charlotte Collins, formerly of Point May, age 72 years. Predeceased by her husband Williams Collins, sister Beatrice Hewitt and brother Raphael Stacey. left with cherished memories, her sons Ronald, Danny (Rhonda); daughters: Rowena (Alan Huber), Gail (Peter Harrison) and Cathy Francis; 9 grandchildren: Shannon Kaytor; Brittany and Haleigh Huber; Carley and Melanie Harrison; William and Kaitlin Francis; and Devon and Colby Collins; great-grandchildren Jackson and Zoe Kaytor; sisters Mable Kleener and Madeline Drake. Sadly missed and fondly remembered by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Passed peacefully away at her daughter's home in Little Bay, January 31, 2007, Gladys Hodder Farewell, formerly of Creston South in her 87th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories son Allan Walsh of Ontario, daughters Shirley (John Farrell) of Little Bay, Evelyn Farrell of Little Bay, Norma (Russ Hollett) of Ontario and Mary (Richard Dibbon) of Port au Bras; sisters Evelyn Bailey in Pennsylvania and Ruby Barnes in Ontario; brothers Alymer Hodder in Creston South, Malcolm Hodder in British Columbia, Stephen and Henry Hodder in Ontario; 28 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, plus a large circle of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Father Ted O'Connor conducted Funeral mass Saturday, February 3 from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Marystown, followed by interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Little Bay. HALEY, Rita Mary
Passed peacefully away at Agnes Pratt Nursing Home (Southview Wing) in her 83rd year surrounded by her loving family Rita Mary Haley (nee Clarke) May 16, 1923 - January 15, 2007, beloved wife of James M. Haley (predeceased 1971). Daughter of Ignatius and Mary Clarke (Mildred). Predeceased by sisters Catherine Tarrant and Agnes Doyle and brother Joseph Clarke. Cherish mother of Barbara (John Lambe), Eric (Melita Edwards), Cathy (George Roberts), James (Diane Moreau), Bernadette (Ron Lafreniere), Beth (Gordon Critch), Celeste (Wayne Norman), Brian (Carol Vanttinen) and Zena. Will be deeply missed by her 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and family and friends. Rested at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, St. John's on Tuesday, January 16 from 7 - 9 p.m. Rested at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, St. Lawrence on Wednesday January 17, 7 - 9 p.m. and Thursday, January 18, from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday January 19, 2007 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in St. Lawrence at 10 a.m. Interment was held at the R.C. Cemetery, St. Lawrence. Flowers were gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Agnes Pratt Home. The following poem* written by her daughter Cathy, clearly expresses the feeling of love and respect we all have for our mother. Passed peacefully away at the Grand Bank Community Health Care Centre on Friday, January 26, 2007, Mary C. Rose of Grand Bank, age 91 years. Predeceased by parents William and Mildred Jensen; husbands Clyde John Rose and John Rose and brother Thomas Jensen. She leaves to mourn: daughter Mildred Watts (Earl) at Grand Bank; son Raymond Clyde Rose (Jean) at Gander; step-son Jack Rose (Anita) at Halifax; step-daughter Sandra Boutquin at Toronto; brother Arch Jensen at North Sydney; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Rev. Michael Li on Monday, January 209th at 11 am from Saint Alban's Anglican Church, Grand Bank. Interment followed at Saint Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Grand Bank. Passed peacefully away at her residence in Grand Bank on Saturday, January 20, 2007, Hilda Warren, age 79 years. Predeceased by husband Harold; son Gerald; sisters Ada and Jessie. Leaving to mourn; 6 sons William (Rita), Paul (Rita), Roy (Dianne), David (Ada), Don (Rita), all at Grand Bank; Gary (RaeLynn) at Nova Scotia; 2 daughters Lucy Hodder (Maurice) at St. Bernard's, and Cathy Stacey (Ben) at Grand Bank; 29 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral Service was conducted by Rev. Lewis Crewe on Monday, January 22nd at 2 pm from the United Church, Grand Bank. Organist was Betty Rogers. Pallbearers were: William Warren, Paul Warren, Roy Warren, Dave Warren, Gary Warren and Don Warren. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank; "Where Dedicated People Care." Donations in her memory may be made to the Grand Bank United Church.
