Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Wednesday, December 1, 2004, Ernest Antle of Mortier, in his 83rd year. Predeceased by parents John and Mary, brothers Ambrose, Patrick, Jack, Edward, Nick, Mike and Leo, sister Mary. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Mary; brother Joey of Fox Cove, plus a large circle of other family and friends. Father Charlie Kelly officiated the funeral mass on December 3rd from St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Burin, with interment following at R.C. Cemetery, Fox Cove. Pallbearers - Pius Antle, Charlie Antle, Martin Antle, Leon Antle, Celestine Antle, Howard Ducey. Cross bearer - Leo Antle. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "WE CARE."

AUGUSTUS, Ronald
May 23, 1932 - December 5, 2004

Passed suddenly away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Sunday, December 5, 2004, Ronald Augustus in his 72nd year. Predeceased by wife Netta. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Terry (Julie); daughter Sharon (Bill Noseworthy); grandchildren Greg, Michael, Kyle and Stephanie; great-grandson Andrew; brother George plus a large circle of other family and friends. Father Charlie Kelly officiated funeral mass on December 8th from St. Patrick's RC Church, Burin with Rev. Berdina Ford interring ashes at Holy Trinity Anglican cemetery, Hodder's Point. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin "WE CARE."

BANFIELD, Triffenia
Passed peacefully away at her home Tuesday, December 8, 2004, Triffenia Banfield of Bay L'Argent. She was 69 years old. Left to mourn are husband Bertram; sons Melvin (wife Marion) of Mount Pearl and Max (wife Nancy) of Bay L'Argent; daughter Wanda of Mount Pearl; four grandchildren; Jennifer, Meghan, Travis and Tyler and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Charlie Harris conducted funeral service at St. Hilda's Anglican Church, Bay L'Argent Saturday, December 11th with interment at the St. Hilda's Anglican Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Henry Banfield, Frank Banfield, Lloyd Banfield, Fred Banfield, James Bungay and Norman Pope.

BARNES, Bessie A.
Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, on Saturday, December 4, 2004, Bessie A. Barnes of Grand Bank, age 74 years. Predeceased by parents Fred and Lillian Barnes, sisters Effie Skinner and Sadie Barnes. She leaves to mourn one son, Craig (Barbara) Grand Bank, two grandchildren Andrew and Matthew Barnes, one sister Mary McMullin (Edison) Glace Bay, N.S. Three brothers, Fred (Pauline) Buchans, Angus (Frances) St. John's, Jerry (Georgie) Grand Bank. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman from the Salvation Army Citadel, Grand Bank on Tuesday, December 7th, 2 p.m. with interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery Grand Bank. Music provided by David Noseworthy. Pallbearers were Arthur Bartlett, Larry Osmond, Harold John Snook, Lloyd Kendell, Clyde Savoury, Stan Osmond. Funeral arrangement entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, "Where dedicated people care."

Passed peacefully away November 26, 2004 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Edward Cheeke of Marystown. He was 70 years old. Predeceased by mother Mercedes, father Edward, sisters Bride Farrell, Susanna Farrell, brothers Bern Cheeke and Bill Cheeke. Left to mourn are wife Donalda, sons Gary (wife Jeanne) of New Market, Ont., Brian (wife Roberta) of Marystown, Glenn (wife Kimberley) of Goulds, Dwayne of Richmond Hill, Ont., daughters Linda (husband Greg Pinsent) of Goulds, Barbara (Derek Hammond) of Paradise, Cindy (Brian Mallay) of Marystown and Bonnie of Mount Pearl. Also leaving to mourn are brothers Vince (Marie) of Marsytown, 13 grandchildren, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted the funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown, Monday, November 29 with interment at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Pallbearers were Gary Cheeke, Brian Cheeke, Glenn Cheeke, Bryan Cheeke Jr., Vince Cheeke, Terrence Fitzpatrick. Cross bearer was Bradley Cheeke.

Passed away December 11, 2004, baby Kaitlyn Haley Elizabeth Dunphy at the Janeway Hospital in St. John's. Left to mourn are parents Jeff Dunphy and Kristen Kelly. Passed peacefully away at the US Memorial Hospital, St. Lawrence, on December 17, 2004, Winifred Evans of Port au Bras, in her 86th year. Predeceased by husband Simeon, son Jerry, grandchildren Wendy, Adam and Andi-Marie. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Merrill (Madge), Howard (Mercedes) Randell (Cathy), Reg (Norma) Fred (Lynn), all of Burin; daughters Hannah (Wilson Taylor) of St. John's, Laura (Jim Hodder) of Burin, Rosie (William Moulton) of Burin, Jessie (Andy Power) of Burin; daughter-in-law Donna Moulton of St. John's, 30 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers Levi Pardy (Sophie) of St. John's, Merrill (Margaret) of Harbour Mille, Jim (Ethel) of Harbour Mille, Tom of Alberta, plus a large circle of other family and friends. Rev. Berdina Ford officiated funeral service on December 20, 2004 from St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Port au Bras with interment following at Anglican Cemetery, Port au Bras. FOX, Leslie R.
Passed peacefully away at the U.S. Memorial Health Care Centre, St. Lawrence, on Thursday, December 9, 2004, Leslie R. Fox of Grand Bank, age 62 years. Predeceased by parents William and Clara Fox, brothers Max, Larry and William. Leaving to mourn are wife Jane, two daughters Rhonda Fox and Ruth Fox at Toronto, one son Dan (Lisa) at Saskatchewan; two grandchildren Zayna and Abigayle; sister Eva Welsh at Grand Bank; brother Elmer Fox at Grand Bank. Also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Raymond Case from Grand Bank United Church on Sunday, December 12th, 2 p.m. with interment in the United Church Cemetery, Grand Bank. Organist was Betty Rose. Pallbearers were Marvin Welsh, Gary Emberley, Cecil Harris, Roy Fox, Ron Fox, Jim Francis. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home, Grand Bank. "Where dedicated people care."

Passed peacefully away at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on December 10, 2004 Gladys Maude Legge of Burin Bay Arm, Burin in her 79th year. Predeceased by husband Fredrick Hooper, sons Willis, Alfred, James Hooper and Alex Legge; granddaughter Lisa Jane Hodder. Leaving to mourn husband Berton Legge, Burin Bay Arm; sons Clarence Hooper (wife Ellen Rose) of Creston South, George Hooper (wife Annette) of Rainbow Lake, AB, Arthur Hooper of British Columbia, Dave Hooper (wife Rose) of Lewin's Cove, Hughie Legge (wife Joan) of Burin Bay Arm, Danny Legge of Burin Bay Arm; stepson John Withers (wife Jane) of Rock Harbour, daughters Isabella (husband Alfred Jarvis) of Winterland, Ann (husband Cecil Hodder) of Fort McMurray, AB., Janice (husband William Paul) of Lewin's Cove, Jessie (husband John Cheeseman) of Shoal Point, Yvonne (husband Eric Legge) of Burin Bay Arm, Harriet (husband Wayne Farrell) of Marystown; daughters-in-law Edith Legge (friend Kevin) of Burin Bay Arm and Millicent Hooper of Creston South; 48 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, Alex Dodge, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Captains Darren & Wendy Boone and Rev. Susan White at the Salvation Army Citadel in Creston South on December 13th at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery in Creston South. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army Memorial Fund. Pallbearers were: Grandsons: Thomas Farrell, Patrick Legge, John Cheeseman Jr., Eric Legge Jr., Scott Rose, Henry Hooper, Kerry Hooper and great-grandson Andrew Smith. Passed peacefully away December 12, 2004 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre Bernard Kelly of Marystown. He was 70 years old. Predeceased by brothers George and John, sisters Betty and Helen and parents Bernard and Mary. Left to mourn are wife Helen; sons Brian, Glen (Joanne), Keith (Tracey), Perry (Charlene) Wade (Shanna) all of Marystown. Bernard (Gina) of Corner Brook and Cory (Tammy) of Brantford, Ontario; daughters Gertie (Wayne) and Mary Lynn (Tony) of Marystown; grandchildren April, Allison, Jamie, Bernard, Kesha, Jillian, Olivia, Christian, Justine, Haley, Maria, Cora-lee, Mackenzie, Joey, Matthew and Sammy; great-grandchild James Wayne. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Madonna Paul of Badger, twin sister May Mercer of Badger and Marcella Fiblekorne of Alaska; brother Cecil of Spanish Room and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown, Tuesday, December 14th with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Homes, Marystown. Pallbearers were Brian Kelly, Glen Kelly, Keith Kelly, Bernard Kelly, Perry Kelly and Wade Kelly. Crossbearer was Corey Kelly.

Passed peacefully away November 30, 2004 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Peter Ledwith of Marystown. He was 71 years old. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Elizabeth, sisters Ann and Mary, brother Tom and sister-in-law Regina Brake. Left to mourn are his loving wife Mary; brothers John (Marjorie), James and Bill Ledwith, all of Brockland, New York. Also leaving to mourn are brothers-in-law Tom (friend Cathy), Joe (Priscilla), John (Mirreile), Tim (Gladys) Frank (Anna), Gord (Marjorie), Mike (Norma) Jim (Cathy), Ray (Pat), Larry (Gladys) and Gerard (Chantall); sisters-in-law Bride Hennebury, Essie (Dick Kean), Marg (Reg Isaacs), Helen (Art Fitzpatrick) and Vera (Rick Myles). Passed peacefully away November 29, 2004 at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre, Calvin Powell of Burin. He was 80 years old. Predeceased by his parents. Reverend Oscar Elms conducted the funeral service at United Church, Creston North, Wednesday, December 1 with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Happy Adventure. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Michael Legge, Lorne King, Derek Walters, Craig Mercer, Jason Pittman and Charlie Saunders.

Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre December 5, 2004, Phoebe Rose of Fortune. She was 79 years old. Predeceased by husband Isaac. Left to mourn are sons Carl (wife Shirley) of Grand Bank and Melvin (Madge) of Fortune; daughter Marion (husband Joe Donnelly) of Topsail. Also leaving to mourn are sister-in-law Susie Rose of Gaultois and Annie Harris of Hermitage, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend Jim Pollard conducted funeral services at All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Fortune. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home, Fortune. Pallbearers were Susan Rose, Jennifer Donnelly, Harvey Rose, Paul Bishop, Joe Donnelly and Earl Rose.

Passed away suddenly at her residence in Grand bank on Sunday, November 28, 2004, Mary T. Stacey, age 64 years. Predeceased by parents Susie and George Robert Thorne, sisters Annie and Carrie. Leaving to mourn are husband John, two daughters, Michelle Lucas (David) Brooks, Alberta; Rose Miller, St. Catherine's, Ont., six sons, Calvin Stacey (Roxanne), Grand Bank, John Stacey, Grand Bank, Nelson Stacey, Fortune, Gary Stacey, Point May, Barry Stacey, St. Lawrence, Gerald Stacey (Louise) Brooks, Alberta; fifteen grandchildren, six sisters Sheila (Tony), St. John's, Muriel (Wayne), Grand Falls-Windsor, Roseann and Betty, St. John's, Margaret (Richard), Toronto, Edna, Toronto, also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Majors Frank and Rita Pittman from the Salvation Army Citadel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1st with interment in the Salvation Army Cemetery, Grand Bank. Music was provided by David Noseworthy and Herbert Dunford. Pallbearers were sons Calvin, Nelson, Garry, Barry, Gerald, and son-in-law David Lucas. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Warren's Funeral Home "Where dedicated people care."

Passed suddenly away November 30, 2004, Dale Gerard Tobin of Epworth. He was 36 years old. Left to mourn are wife Bonnie, son Ben, daughters Mahalia and Andrianna, parents Bernard and Theresa Tobin at Gaskiers, parents-in-law Joseph and Flora Manning of Epworth.
