Passed peacefully away at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre,
Burin on March 22, 2005, Rita M. Brown of Marystown in her
77th year. Leaving to mourn husband George, sons: Winston (wife Elizabeth of
Mount Pearl), Keith wife Betty of Rock Harbour, Wade of Mount Pearl, Basil
wife Gerri of St. John's, Colin wife Linda of Valleyview, AB, Allister of Mount
Pearl. Daughter: Gloria of Valleyview, AB. Brother, John J. Hodder at Halifax,
9 grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral Services
were conducted by Rev. Robert Peddle at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Rock
Harbour, on March 24, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Interment was at Anglican Cemetery in
Rock Harbour. Donations in her memory may be made to Burin Peninsula Health
Care Foundation - DDR Project. Pallbearers were: Winston Brown, Keith Brown,
Basil Brown, Allister Brown, Rodney Brown and Brent Brown. Funeral arrangements

Passed peacefully away April 7, 2005, at his home in Marystown,
Joseph P. Edwards. He was 94 years old. Predeceased by wife Blanche, sisters
Elizabeth and Minnie, mother Elizabeth, father Vincent, daughter Elizabeth and
great-grandchild Erin. Left to mourn are sons Vincent (wife June) of Port aux
Basques, Bernard (wife Janet) of St. John's, Alfred (wife Evelyn) of Labrador
City, Jim (wife Jenny) of Sydney, N.S., Joe (wife Pauline) of Marystown, John
(wife Yvonne) of Marystown, Andy (wife Lorraine) of Marystown and Larry (wife
Sheila) of Burin; daughters Marie (husband Dennis Bell) of Montreal, Emily (husband
Bill Withers) of Marystown and Marion (husband Arch Adams) of Burin. Also leaving
to mourn sister Emily Kennedy of Ontario, 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren
and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Craig conducted funeral
mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown Saturday, April 9 with
interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted tot
he care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Pallbearers were Andrew Edwards
Jr., Rick Edwards, David Edwards, Scott Edwards, Craig Edwards and Paul Edwards.

Passed peacefully away Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Burin
Peninsula Health Care Centre, Anastasia Farrell of Little Bay. She was 85.
Predeceased by husband Jack, sister Mary Jo and great-grandson Tyrone. Left
to mourn are sons Dominic (Donna), Kenneth (Violet), Adrian (Debbie), all of
Little Bay, Howard (Marge) of Marystown and Kevin (Marilyn) of Lawn; daughters
Susanna (Dave) of Burin, Helen (Levi), Kathleen (Barry) and Mary Jo (Tom) of
Jean De Baie, and Georgina (Robert) of Epworth. Also leaving to mourn are sister
Hannah Emberley of Rushoon; brothers Adrian Hanrahan of Marystown, Patrick
Hanrahan of St. John's and John Hanrahan of Little Bay; 28 grandchildren, 18
great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father
Charlie Kelly conducted funeral Mass at the Sacred Heart Church, Marystown,
Tuesday, Mar. 22 with interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Little Bay.

Marystown. Pallbearers were Tom Molloy, Barry Hickman, Levi Scott, Joe Walsh,
Robert Mitchell and Dave Drake. Cross bearer was Gladys Hickman.

Gillingham of Creston North in his 71st year. Predeceased
by parents Jeanette and Sydney, stepfather Andrew Lane, brother Harold. Leaving
to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Ellen; sons Whylie (Imelda) of

Passed peacefully away April 6, 2005, Jane Hillier of Fortune.
She was 71 years old. Left to mourn are husband Clyde Hillier Sr; sons Roland

daughters Roseanne (Mario), Dolores (Fred), Geraldine (Mike), Roma (Fred),

St. John's on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, Thomas G. Newport of
Garnish, age 60 years. Predeceased by his parents Eunice Newport and Ivy Marsh.
Leaving to mourn his very special family of North 3A at the Waterford Hospital,
sisters Irene, Nina (Lorne) Welsh and Margaret (Frank) Penney; brothers Ray

PATTEN, Charles
Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, Charles
Norman Paten, age 79. Celebrating his life are his wife Susan and
children: Robert (Nancy), John (Debbie), Margaret and Jane (Thomas). Left
with beautiful, treasured memories are his much loved grandchildren; Allan,
Anna, Stephanie, Juleah, Susan and Catherine. Also left to mourn are his
brother Chesley (Kay) and sister Jane in Toronto. Cremation has taken place.
Relatives and friends were able to visit the family at Carnell's Funeral
Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Wednesday, March 30th, from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday,
March 31st, from 10-12, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service
was held at St. Thomas' Anglican Church Friday, April 01, at 11:00 a.m. Flowers

Passed peacefully away Sunday, April 3, 2005 at the Salvation
Army Glenbrook Lodge in St. John's, Dinah Snook formerly of Fortune, aged 97
years. Predeceased by husband William, daughter Rose MacPhee and son John.
Left to mourn are her children Maria Woodland, June Inder (Jim) of St. John's,
Jane Wojciechowski (Jim) of Buffalo, New York, George (Winnie) of Quebec, Bruce
(Joan) of Fortune and Roy of New Glasgow, N.S., son-in-law Alfred MacPhee (Carol)
of Clarenville, 13 beloved grandchildren, 17 cherished great-grandchildren
and one adored great-great-grandson, several nieces and nephews who were very
special to her, roommate Marjorie Peddle and the staff and residents of Glenbrook
Lodge, other relatives and many friends. Funeral service was held Wednesday,
April 6, at 1 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel, Fortune with interment
following at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Fortune. Donations in her memory

friends. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Raymond Case from the Grand
Bank United Church on Monday, March 28, 2005. Interment followed in the United
