Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, August 28, 2017, Cheryl Hodder of Shoal Harbour, aged 50 years. Left with fond and loving memories are her parents Robert and Marvella; sons Vincent (Hailey) and Kyle (Shannon); grandsons Xavier and Jaden; sisters Brenda, Darlene and Christine (Ian); brothers Terry (Janet) and Bobby (Jaclyn); grandmother Jessie Blundon; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Shoal Harbour United Church with interment at United Cemetery, Palmer's Lane Shoal Harbour. In her memory donations may be made to Shoal Harbour United Church.

Predeceased by her husband Leander; parents Albert John and Murial Brooking. Left with fond and loving memories her son Walter John; sister-in-law Lillian Miller (Giles); brother-in-law Harold (Lorraine); aunt Joan Brooking; nieces & nephews; cousins and friends. Rested at Bethany United Church, Harcourt. Funeral service took place on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Bethany United Church, Harcourt with interment at United Cemetery, Harcourt.

Passed away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, August 25, 2017, Philip Veitch aged 79 years of Clarenville, formerly of Buchans. Predeceased by his wife Mary; parents Kathleen and Cyril; brother Paul and sisters Madeleine and Ann. Left with fond and loving memories are his daughter Denise (Bruce Didham); son Stephen (Bonnie Moss-Veitch); brother Cyril (Rose); five grandchildren Katie, Michael, Shayna, Rhea and Daniel; four great-grandchildren Eliza, Lincoln, Nathaniel and Elias and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral mass took place on Monday, August 28, 2017. Predeceased by her son Justin; parents Charlie and Annabelle Palmer and brothers Randy and Roger Palmer. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Colin of Medicine Hat, AB; grandchildren Ghaiel, Quinton, Amaya and Liam; sisters Judy (Ray), Lois (Garland), Marie (Gerald) and Roxanne (Howard); brothers Austin (Frances), Irving (Betty), Kevin (Judy), Dean (Rose) and Darren (Lisa); and a large circle of family and friends. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Mabel Hibbs of 57 years; daughter Angela Pond (Craig), Milton; sons Hubert (Jeanette), Milton, Dwight (Cindy), Clarenville and Keith (Debbie), Milton; grandchildren Joey, Amanda, Megan, Britney, Nikita, Nicole, Robert, Sara, Cassidy and Ryan; great grandchildren Tyler, Faith, Zachary, Cody, Jesse, Hayley, Blake, Yvonne, Oceanna, Maverick and Taylor; step-sister Miriam Keough, Plate Cove; sisters-in-law Bernice Ivany, Milton and Beulah Ivany, Clarenville; and a large circle of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, surrounded by her loving family, Bessie Bailey of Harcourt, aged 96 years. Last surviving member of her immediate family. Predeceased by her husband David Bailey Sr.; grandson Kevin Bailey and parents Gertie and George Ivany. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters Maxine (Boyd Vincent), Truro, NS and Laverne (Austin Pelley), Harcourt; son David (Netta), Harcourt; grandchildren Rob, Shelley, Greg, David, Sheri, Joanne and Tammy; great grandchildren Colby, Callie, Nathaniel, Christopher, Meaghan, Chris, Evan, Nathan, Natasha and Robyn; great great grandson Odyn; and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a second mother to Cavelle, Kathleen, Eleanor, Alvin, Calvin, Tina, Debbie, Linda, Daphne, and Ivan. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Passed peacefully away at Dr. Albert O'Mahony Manor in Clarenville on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, Ross Pike of Charleston in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his parents Aurora and Alfred Pike; sisters & brothers Marjorie, Hilda, Chesley and Bert; great granddaughter Denika Adams. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Louisa of 72 years; daughters Arlene Adams (William) and Clara Green (Robert); sons Fraser (Norma), Douglas (Gertrude), Everett (Margaret) and Darrell (Eileen); 20 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sisters Shirley Fry and Violet Quinton; brothers Colin, Clarence, Angus (Bessie) and Garland (Gladys); and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the United Church, Lethbridge with interment at United Cemetery, Charleston. Karl Douglas Barrington

It is with great sadness the family shares the sudden passing, of Karl Douglas Barrington of Black River, aged 60 years, at his home on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Predeceased by his father Howard and nephew Kurtis. Treasuring fond and loving memories his Mom (Ruby) and sisters Beverley (Gerald), Yvonne, Shirley, and Janet (Brad); son Douglas (Rebecka); grandchildren Alauna, Lukas, Travis and Kendra; niece Amanda and nephew Dennis and their families. Also, a real good friend to him and the family Roy Lethbridge, and a large circle of relatives and friends. As per his wishes cremation arrangements entrusted to Fewer's Funeral Home has taken place.

VARDY, Arthur Russell

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on September 11, 2017 surrounded by his family and wife, Doris, of 65 years, Arthur Russell Vardy, age 88 of Hickman's Harbour. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. Predeceased by his parents Reuben and Amelia Vardy; son Tex Sherwood; brothers Austin, Edwin, Ralph; sister Phyllis Badcock; brothers-in-law Fred Butler and Arch Badcock; sisters-in-law Clair Vardy and Marjorie Vardy. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his wife Doris; sons Wade (Debbie), Dennis (Amy), David (Donna), Rodney (Mary); daughters Maxine Simmons, Bernice Vardy, Kimberley Hansford (Chris), Dianne Duffett (Wayne), and Sherry Alexander; twenty grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
