Owen Junior Hiscock
Born: December 14th, 1937
Passed on: August 28th, 2011

Passed peacefully away surrounded by loving family at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, Newfoundland. Predeceased by parents Frank and May (Morgan) Hiscock. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife of 50 years Lorraine (Porter), son Paul (Margaret), daughters Lynn Hiscock, Janice (Ian) Davidson, and Heather (Joe) Dunford, sisters Lena (Cecil) Noftall and Victoria (Hubert) Ridgeley, grandchildren Sarah and Michael Hiscock, Gregory and Bradley Wicks, Morgan, Mya and Evan Davidson, Isaac and Owen Dunford, brother-in-laws Bruce Porter, Ron (Josephine) Porter, sister-in-laws Verna (Nelson) White and Marilyn (Richard Baker) Porter. At Owen's request, cremation took place. The funeral service was held at St Mary's Anglican Church at 2PM, Wednesday August 31st. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Daffodil Place, St. John's.

Passed peacefully away at the Pentecostal Seniors Nursing Home, Clarkes Beach on Thursday, August 25, 2011, Jane Dowden of Arnold's Cove, formerly of Tack's Beach, in her 91st year. Predeceased by husband Humphries; parents Albert and Dorothy Green; brothers Heber and Malcolm; son-in-law Clarence Guy. Left with fond and loving memories her daughters Phyllis Guy, Ettie Slade (Berkley), Jeanette Peach (Melvin) and Marilyn Frampton (Thomas); sister Doris Zimmerman; sister-in-law Matilda Green; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Funeral service took place on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at St. Michael's All Angels Anglican Church with interment at Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove. In her memory donations may be made to St. Michael's All Angels Anglican Church or Pentecostal Seniors Home, Clarke's Beach.

We regret to announce the sudden passing of Sarah Hawe (nee- Spurrell), age 79, from Dunfield at the Bonavista Hospital, Bonavista, on August 29, 2011. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Susanna; brothers, Jerry, John and Ambrose; sisters, Rachel and Miriam. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are her sons, Alex (Tish) and Larry (Karen); sister, Amy; grandchildren, Dustin (Bonnie), Nichole (Kent), Bridget (Michael), Julian (Pam), Juanita (Charlie), Jason (Stephanie), Susan (Johnaton); great grandchildren, Kyle, Dylan and Ayden and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the Grace United Church, Dunfield from where the funeral service, officiated by Jocelyn Cook, took place on Friday, September 2, 2011 with interment following at the United Church Cemetery, Trinity. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, September 9, 2011, Eldon Whalen of Caplin Cove, aged 78 years. Predeceased by wife Pauline Bennett and son-in-law Wayne Tucker. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his children Norma Tucker, Karen Lambert (Samir Hammoud), Kay McNea, Jim (Lillian), Mike (Tracy), Wendy (Jeffery Spurrell) and Phillip; grandchildren Wally (Lisa), Andrew (Jill), Michael (Candace), Alex, Jana, Mackenzie and Brody; great grandchildren Tyler and Brady Osmond and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Hearts Ease. Funeral service took place on Monday, September 12, 2011 from the United Church, Caplin Cove with interment at United Cemetery, Caplin Cove. In his memory donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

Irene Grace (Collins)

It is with great sadness that the family of Irene Grace (Collins) announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on September 5, 2011 at the age of 76 years. She leaves to mourn son Brian Grace (Kelly). Grandchildren: Terriann and Taylor Grace, Lindsay Moorehouse, Karen Springstead (Tyson), great-grandchildren Kaylynn & Logan Moorehouse & Bentley Springstead. Sisters: Beulah Cooper (Harold), Voira Batt (Sam), Myra Joseph (Pat), Audrey Collins (Dr. P.K. Ganguly). Brother Terry Collins (Dot) & sister-in-law Betty Collins. Sixteen nieces and nephews. Thirteen great nieces and nephews. Special niece Audra Oxford & two special friends Bessie Reid & Pauline Hawkins. She is predeceased by her mother & father Hannah & Edgar Collins, and daughter Dot Moorehouse, brothers: Cecil & Raymond Collins and sister-in-law Rose Collins. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road Corner Brook, NL on Wednesday and Thursday the 7th and 8th of September, 2011 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm from where the funeral service will take place at Country Haven Chapel on Friday at 2 pm with Majors Calvin and Loretta Fudge officiating. Cremation to take place, interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers will be graciously accepted or donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Friday, September 23, 2011 Trudy Gosse of Clarenville, aged 46 years. Predeceased by her mother Ada Fisher. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Dennis of 12 years; his children Rachel (John) and their daughter Paige, Shannon (Dave) and their children Leah, Rachel and Ryan, Dennis (Trish) and their children Jackson and Kieran; her dad Ray (Jean); stepfather Ed Fisher; father-in-law Bob Gosse; brothers Paul Currie (Linda), Peter Currie (Judy), Tom Fisher; brother-in-law Gary Gosse (Shirley) and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral took place on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the United Church, Shoal Harbour with interment at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville.

Left with fond and loving memories her husband Ian of 35 years; sons Geoffrey (Lara) and Jonathan (Tanya); grandson Cohen; brother Tom West (Blanche); sister Sherry Hampton & Family and Betty Brake (Derrick) & Family; sister-in-law Sheena Best (Robert); aunts Mable West (guardian Mom) and Marie Hall; special friends Cathy & Charlie Marsh and a large circle of relatives and friends. William Alan Balsom

William Alan Balsom
, longtime resident of Clarenville, Newfoundland, passed away peacefully at Grande Prairie, Alberta on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the age of 70 years. Alan was born in Grand Falls, NL on March 3, 1941. He lived in Clarenville where he met and married the love of his life, Joan, on October 14, 1967, and raised three children. Alan and Joan moved to Grande Prairie in 1999 to be closer to their grandchildren. Alan will be sadly missed by his daughters Cynthia (Chris) Kulchyski of Grande Prairie, AB; Lisa Day of Edmonton, AB; grandchildren Tyler and Kia Day; Dylan and Amber Kulchyski. As well as many extended family and many friends. Alan was predeceased by his parents Emphriam and Blanche Balsom; wife Joan Balsom and son Stephen Balsom. Alan's warm hugs and funny stories will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. A memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Church in Grande Prairie, AB on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 2:00pm In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Masonic Higher Education Bursary.
