Mary Netha (Neta) Beck (nee Brinston)
Born: September 17th, 1925
Passed on: September 24th, 2015

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, one week after celebrating her 90th birthday, Neta Beck of Swift Current. Predeceased by her husband Calvin; brothers Earnest, Earl, Joseph, and Wallace; sisters Ada, Stella and Lillian. Left to celebrate a wonderful life lived is a wide circle of relatives and friends as well as staff and residents of Hilltop Manor in Arnold's Cove. Neta rested at the United Church, Swift Current. Funeral service took place at the United Church, Swift Current on Sunday, September 27, 2015 with interment at United Church Cemetery in Swift Current. At Neta's request, donations to Swift Current United Church will be gratefully received.

Violet Curtis

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, September 24, 2015, Violet Curtis of Portland, aged 89 years. Predeceased by husband Ernest; daughter Betty; son Wade; brothers Fred, Tom and Frank; sister Florence. Left with fond and loving memories her daughters Bonnie (Ron) and Joy; sons Jim and Bert (Carrie); eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers Caleb (Sadie) and Rex (Mariam); and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at United Church, Portland. Funeral service took place on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the United Church, Portland with interment at United Cemetery, Portland.

Jessie Alma Humby

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial hospital on Sept. 24th, 2015, Jessie Alma Humby at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by her husband Rex, brothers Thomas, Richard and Uriah. Sisters Blandina, Muriel, and Ethel Mae. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, son Alwyn (Kathy), daughter Marilyn (Jim), granddaughters Joanne (Jamie), Stephanie (Jason), great granddaughter Abigail, Chloe, William and Peyton and her many nieces and nephews. Rested at the United Church, Summerville, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Elsie Pottle, took place on Sunday, September 27, 2015 with interment following. Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Thursday, September 24, 2015, Robert Skiffington of Port Blandford, aged 79 years. Predeceased by parents Albert and Ruth; parents-in-law James and Winnie Leyden; and two sisters. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Gladys of 52 years; children Geraldine (Alan), Lloyd (Ivy) and Lorena (Don); grandchildren Thea, Jessica, Jonathan and Mackenzie; great granddaughter Jade; sisters Jane, Elsie and Rosie; brother Edward (Jackie) and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at the United Church, Port Blandford. Funeral service took place on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the United Church, Port Blandford with interment at the United Cemetery, Port Blandford. In his memory donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.

Brenda Joan Marsh

It is with great sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Brenda Joan Marsh, in the presence of her family, at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Monday, September 21, 2015, aged 61 years. Leaving to mourn her passing, her loving husband of 43 years, Wayne, her devoted children, daughter Tammy (Calvin Clarke), son Tim (Melanie) and three cherished granddaughters, Aryn, Mallory and Hope. Five brothers, Robert (Edna), Gordon (Mary), John (Evenlyn), Frank (Toni), and Eugene Ploughman (Debbie). Three sisters, Daphne Richard (Armand), Irene Ploughman (John Deagen), and Florence Vokey (Joseph). Also, a very large circle of family and friends. Brenda was pre-deceased by her parents, Frank and Bessie Ploughman, her oldest sister, Louise and a nephew, David. Memorial service took place at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Trinity on Friday, September 25, 2015. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville.

Angela Evelyn Effie Wells
Passed on: September 21st, 2015

It is with great sadness that the family of Angela Evelyn Effie Wells of Hillview, age 59, announces her passing on September 21, 2015 at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville. Angela passed peacefully away surrounded by the love of her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Leaving to mourn with many wonderful memories are her loving husband John, daughters Heather and Tiffany (Shawn), son Matthew (Anita) and cherished granddaughters Mya and Bria. Also left to mourn are her mother Hazel Stacey, sister Una Crocker (Wade), brothers Greg Stacey (Debbie), Grant Stacey (Valerie), Geoff Stacey (Christine), and Guy Stacey, as well as large circle of family and friends. Angela was predeceased by her father Eugene Stacey. Angela will live on though the lives of those who knew her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was a fun-loving woman with a zest for life, and valued every moment with family and friends. Thank you to family and friends who provided support during this difficult journey. Thank you to the physicians and nurses at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Clinic and the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. Angela rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville and Bethany United Church, Swift Current. Her funeral service took place on Thursday, September 24, 2015 with interment at the United Church Cemetery, Swift Current. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Angela's memory may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation or Discovery Health Care Foundation.

- Passed away unexpectedly at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, October 4, 2015, Monroe Greening of Clarenville aged 80 years. Predeceased by son Gary and his parents Elizabeth and George Greening. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Margaret of 60 years; children Timothy (Gloria), Harcourt, Gail Whalen (Garland), Clarenville and Dennis (Penny), Clarenville; grandchildren Shawn, Chelsea, Nathaniel, Mitchell (Sheena) and Robyn; great grandchildren Genieve, Hannah, Rachel, Elizabeth and Joel; sister Mima Pauley (Levi), Montreal, Quebec and Nettie Strong, Clarenville; nieces and nephews; and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service will take place 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Memorial United Church, Clarenville with cremation to follow. Violetta "Babs" Muriel Ivany (nee Janes)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Violetta "Babs" Muriel Ivany (nee Janes), of Kanata, ON originally of Clarenville, NL, at the age of 84. Predeceased by her beloved husband Garland Anderson Ivany. Loving mother of Doreen deMunnik, Gerald Ivany, Karen Currie (Kent), and grandmother of Joshua and Jodie deMunnik, Peter and Paul Ivany, and Rachel and Shannon Currie. Dear sister of Jack Janes (Ada). She will also be missed by extended family, nieces and nephews. Babs was a dedicated mother who loved social gatherings, travel, music and dance. Her spirit and love for life will be missed. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Ottawa, on Wednesday, October 7 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, October 8 at 1:00 pm. Interment Highland Park Cemetery. Those wishing may make a donation to the charity of their choice. Left with fond and loving memories his wife of 63 years; Elizabeth, their children; Beverley (Edward), Marie (Willis), David (Annette), Stella (Cam); brothers Robert (Marvella), Harvey (Nellie), Gordon, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a number of relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her loving daughter Cindy and her husband Carl Warfield of Clarenville, brothers: Les Chaulk (Mamie) of Charlottetown, Boyce Chaulk (Doreen) of ON; Melvin Chaulk (Ina) of ON; Jack Chaulk (Linda) of ON; Glen Chaulk (Enid) of Bay Roberts, sisters: Blanche Lafayette (Al) of Florida, Sue Ash of Gander, Phyllis Crocker (Dave) of Charlottetown, Judy Collins (Ray) of Kilbride, sister in law Jennie Chaulk of Charlottetown, nieces, nephews, plus a large circle of family and friends. Pre-deceased by her husband Calvin in July 2015, parents William and Hazel, brothers Dennis and Douglas Chaulk; brother in law Ches Ash. Funeral service was officiated by Pastor Jarvis from Emmanuel United Church, Charlottetown on Wednesday Oct. 21, 2015 with interment following at Community Cemetery Charlottetown. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shawn Phillip Hatcher of Cold Lake, AB announces his passing on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Edmonton, AB at the age of 44 years. Shawn is lovingly survived by his wife of three years: Amanda; step-daughter: Charlene Downton of Cold Lake, AB; parents: Gerald & Catherine Hatcher of Rose Blanche, NL; sister: Shawnda Hatcher of Chalk River, ON; two nephews: Jarrett and Tanner. Predeceased by her husband George and four infant sons. Left with fond and loving memories are her children, Ted (Lil), Wayne (Joan), Vic (Laura), Carl (Brenda), Dolly (Cam), Georgi (Mack); 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sisters Maude (Andy), Carrie, Lenora (Cyril); brothers Victor (Anita), Eric (Ethel), Clyde (Renate), Bram (Elsie) and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Hearts Ease. Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Anglican Church, Hodge's Cove, with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Hodge's Cove. Predeceased by his parents, Kesson and Annie Reid; step brothers, Hiram, Lawrence (Tryphie), Charlie (Ellie), Ken (Molly); step sister, Alice (Ross Smith) and sister, Sade (Wilfred Thomas). Leaving to mourn: his loving wife of 61 years, Marina; daughter, Rowena (Jerry Martin); son, Tony; grandchildren, Jeremy (Chantelle), Nicole (Matthew), Don (Brett), Allison (Tyler), Alex (Kara), Philip King (Chelsea)- Phillip became part of the family in 1987; great grandchildren, Emma and Liam; brother, Fred (Jean deceased); sister, Gladys Kendell (Malcolm deceased); nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended relatives and friends.
