COLE, Patricia - Passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), in the presence of her loving family, Patricia (Pat) Cole (nee Bartlett) of Clarenville, aged 61 years. Leaving to mourn her loving husband of 39 years, Cat; sons, Craig (Donna) and Todd (Jill); precious grand­children, Jordyn, Brady, Maggie and Laura; brother, Wes (Shirley); brother-in-law, Warren (Bet); a large number of other loving family members; and a large circle of friends. Rested at Power's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Clarenville, with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the ALS Society.

 

COOK, Roy - Passed peacefully away at Bonavista Cottage Hospital on Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, Roy Cook, aged 80 years. Predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Sophie Cook. Leaving to mourn with fond andloving memories his wife, Mary; son, Harold (Pauline); daughter, Sandra (Fraser); sister, Vi (Ed); grandsons, Stephen, Justin and Andrew. Funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at Christ Church, Port Rexton, with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton.

 

SHEA, Mary C., (nee Palliser) Oct. 4 1931 - Sept. 26 2006.

Passed peacefully away at home in Adeytown, Trinity Bay in the presence of her loving family, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Birkenhead, England. Former cottage hospi­tal nurse and midwife, retired Wal-Mart greeter and avid gardener. Predeceased by her father, William Palliser 1976; mother, Anastasia (Keegan) 1989; nephew Phillippe Auriol 1959; sister, Jean Auriol 1980; brother, Ron 1983; mother and father-in-law, Catherine (Hanlon) and Martin Shea 1979; eld­est son Peter 1997; husband, Gordon 1997. Celebrating her life with a wealth of beautiful memories of a remarkable woman, her loving family: Peter's wife, Madonna (Mickey), grandson Michael, granddaughter Erin; David (Joan Dicks); Catherine; Paul, Denise (Buglar), grandson Tomas; Anne, grandson Nicholas Over, granddaughter Catherine Over; Ronald; Julia, grandson Gabriel; extra special sons, Bruce and Brian; brother, Eddie, Sacha and family in Holland. Other relatives and friends in England, France and Newfoundland. A special thank you to caregiver Barbara Marsh for her wonderful care and concern and to nurse Shona Stoyles for her knowledge, kindness and support. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral mass was held 11 am on Friday, September 29th at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Clarenville. Interment followed at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

SEAWARD - Passed peacefully away after a lengthy battle with cancer, at the Miller Center, St. John's, on September 25, 2006, Allan James Seaward, age 61. Predeceased by parents Edgar and Olive, brother; Clayton (Junior), sisters; Marina Isabelle (infant), Vina Smith, father-in-law, Ulysses Lambert. Leaving to mourn and will be sadly missed by wife Verna, sons; Brandon and Jason, grandson Aaron, best buddy Penelope, sisters; Pearl Parrott (Tom, deceased), Vickie Bishop (Peter deceased), Rita Spurrell, Phylis Avery (Clayton), Ann Dodge (Jonah), Linda Kelly (Ernest), mother-in-law Lillian Lambert, sister-in-law Christine Seaward, nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation took place and Allan (Jim) was laid to rest at the Bethany United Church Cemetery, Southport on Sunday, October 1, 2006. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

KELLY - It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Curtis Garfield Kelly, age 84, from Petley, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on October 1, 2006. Predeceased by parents James and Lillian, sisters; Florence Marsh, Rita Penny, brothers; Undo and Lionel, wife, Wilma. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons; James (Elizabeth), Norman (Mae), Ross (Wanda), Scott (Debbie), Melvin (Loretta), daughters; Margaret (Leonard), Glenys (Sherman), Mary (Walter), Evelyn, Jean (George), Dulcie (Matthew), brother; Selvy, 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. Funeral service, officiated by Rev Vera Abbott, took place at the United Church, Britannia on October 4, 2006 with interment following.

REID, Clayton Wallace, age 64, formerly from Lady Cove, entered into eternal rest at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, in the loving care of his family on February 8, 2006. Predeceased by his parents, Wallace George and Rosalie Alice; sisters Viola Martin, Marjorie Reid; brother, Allen. Leaving to mourn family members, Ernest (Maud), Ronald (late Gertrude, Neman (Lilly), Amy (late Ronald Tobin), Elsie (Arnold Shuler), Ivy (Bramwey March), Minnie (Donald Bowering), Phyllis (Warren Pope), Wilfred (Llynnann), Medley (Evelyn), Linda (Allister Stone), Elizabeth (Calvin Smith), Richard (Cindy), Nellie (Michael Connolly). Also, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Cremation took place. A memorial service, officiated by Reverend Vera Abbott, took place at the United Church, Lady Cove on Friday, October 13, 2006. Clayton's ashes were laid to rest at the United Church Cemetery, Lady Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Trull "East Toronto" Funeral Home and Vardys Funeral Home, Random Island.

IVANY, Allan - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, Allan Ivany of Musgravetown, aged 80 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Dorothy of 54 years; daughters Marilyn (Eric Abbott), Paradise and Paula (Russell King), Musgravetown; sons Gary (Jocelyn), Musgravetown and Bradley (Arlene), Paradise; brothers Ray Ivany, USA and Donald Ivany (Rosie), Irishtown, NL; grandchildren Keith (Deanne), Shelley (Paul), Blake, Ashley, Travis, Joshua and Meghan; great-grandchildren Hannah, Kennedy, Andrea, Jessica and Sarah and a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitation took place at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held Friday, October 13, 2006 from Salvation Army Citadel, Musgravetown with interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

 

FROST, Mary (nee Baker) - March 12,1915—October 10,2006. Passed suddenly away at home in Hillview in the presence of her loving family. Predeceased by her loving husband Levi Milton Frost; parents William and Rachel Baker; sister Louise Piercey; brother Edmund and son David. Left to mourn; sons Rudolf (Rosalind), Raymond (Marie); daughters Marie (Marko) Turchuk, Gladys (Ross) Stoyles, Jeanette (Ronald) Martin; beloved sister Daisy Stoyles; brothers-in law Clayton (Joyce), Ernest (Vida); sisters-in-law Flora (Eli) Loder, Mary (Rex) Goobie, Roberta House (John Fogwell); 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and a large number of extended family and friends. Rested at Grace United Church, Hillview. Funeral service, officiated by Reverend Glenn Jarvis, took place on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 2:00 pm. Internment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Hillview. Donations to the United Church Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers greatly accepted. BAILEY, Edith May of Hickman's Harbor, formerly of Deer Harbour; passed away peacefully, in her 105th year, at the G.B. Cross Hospital, Clarenville, on October Leaving to mourn: son; Glen, sister-in-law Edith Marsh; nieces, nephews and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. Funeral service held on Thursday, October 12, at 2 p.m. in the United Church, Hickman's Harbour with interment following. Donations to her memory may be made to the United Church Memorial Fund, Hickman's Harbour.

Predeceased by parents, Harry and Mary Ryan and sister, Cheryl Murdock. Leaving to mourn her husband, George and children Kevin and Gloria, brothers, Eldon, Peter and Kevin, sisters, Frances and Elsie and other relatives and friends. A memorial service, officiated by Mr. Harry Templeman, was held on Saturday, October 14, at the United Church, Summerville. Winnifred's ashes will be laid to rest in New Brunswick on October 21, 2006. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.
