It is with saddened hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Wallace Penney, age 91, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on October 25, 2014. Predeceased by parents, William E. and Sarah Penney; wife, Harriet Mae; son, Kevin and infant son, Reginald Wayne. Leaving to mourn are his son, Gary; daughter, Jackie (John Harvey); daughter-in-law, Yvonne Collins; grandchildren, Krista, Mark, Brian, Jayde, Mitchel, Jennifer and Daniel; great grandchildren, Brianna and Isabella and other relatives and friends. Rested at the St. John the Divine Anglican Church, Cannings Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Isaac Hutchings, took place on October 28, 2014 with internment following. Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, November 6, 2014, Melvin Maidment of Milton, aged 74 years. Predeceased by his wife Marion. Left with fond and loving memories his children Joyce Green (Gary), Shoal Harbour, Scott (Karen), Clarenville, Carol Stringer (Scott) and David (Valerie), Shoal Harbour; granddaughter Nikita (Andrew); step-granddaughter Courtney (B.J.); step grandson Adam & family; sisters Marilyn Maier (Lee), Red Cliff, AB, Alvina Simmonds (Raymond), Shoal Harbour, Madeline Cooper (Dave), Clarenville, Daphne Wells, Linda Wells and Effie Greening (Randy), Shoal Harbour; brother Andy, Shoal Harbour; and a large circle of family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on November 9, 2014, Maxwell Stone, age 91 of Lower Lance Cove, Random Island. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Florence Stone and brother, Edward Stone. Max leaves to mourn his wife of 68 years, Phyllis Stone (nee Fost), and his children, Allister (Linda), Audrey (Phillip), Barry (Carole) and Beverley. He will be sadly missed by his brother Ross (June) , his sister Violet (Malcolm) and sister-in-law, Eleanor. Left with loving memories are his grandchildren Jennifer Whalen, Gregory Eustace, Jane Eustace, Allison Eustace, Brent Stone, Laura Stone and Joshua Stone, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Edwin of 57 years; daughters Joy, Darlene (Boyd), Tammy (Mike) and Paula (Edward); sons Chesley (Maisie) and Gerald (Verna); 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters Violet Peters; Doris King (Pearce), Jessie Skiffington and Mona Loder; brothers Walter Ricketts and Robert Ricketts (Karen); and a large circle of family and friends. Gordon Malcolm Bemister
Passed on: November 10th, 2014

Passed peacefully away on the morning of November 10, 2014, at the home of his daughter after a lengthy illness, Gordon Malcolm Bemister, aged 89 years. Predeceased by his parents, George and Harriett (nee Russell), by his brothers Rayfield, Rex and Thomas, by his sisters Helen and Alma, and by his infant son Gordon Jr. Leaving to mourn his wife of 66 years, Lillian (nee Jeans); his children: Donald (Rosemary, grandson Theodore Gordon, of Chapleau, Ontario), Christine and Paul; his sisters: Laura and Rhoda in Nova Scotia and Olga in Catalina; many nieces and nephews, and friends in Deep Bight where he spent many happy retirement years. In accordance with Gordon's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Committal service will be held at a future date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. Janet George
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet George (nee Smith) of Arnold's Cove, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her daughter Pamela and sister Linda Reid. Leaving to mourn her husband Eugene, daughter Robyn and son-in-law Taylor Langdon; granddaughter Tamara; parents Eli and Lillian Smith; siblings Jackie (Randy), Sharon (Mike), Candy (Brendan) and brother-in-law Harold Reid. Janet will also be sadly missed by Eugene's family, father and mother-in-law Fred and Isabel George; sister-in-law Linda (Reg) and brother-in-law Allan. Janet leaves behind many nieces and nephews who brought her great joy and will miss her dearly as well as a close circle of friends, especially Diane. Janet was always surrounded and supported by loving family and friends and will be greatly missed. Memorial service took place on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Passed away peacefully November 22, 2014 in the presence of his family Joseph Desmond Jesseau age 77. Predeceased by his parents Mollie and Jeremiah Jesseau, brother Jerry and sister in-law Gert. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Margaret (nee King), children Linda (Paul) O'Toole, Des (Connie) and Colleen. Grandsons, Matthew (Nahed) Piercy, Mark (Sandy) Piercy, Michael (Susan) Piercy, Jerry Jesseau, Mitchel (Julie) Gillingham, granddaughters Crystal, Heather (Josh) Barnes. Great grandchildren Taylor, Reid and Olivia Piercy, Taylor and Brooklyn Barnes and Maggie and Thomas Gillingham. Sisters Mary (Mick) Beresford, Donna (George) Tatarczuk. Brothers Kevin, Ray (Sydnee), Wayne (Sharon), Sean (Lily). Brother in-law Winston (Ann) King. A large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Visitation took place at Barrett's Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Sunday November 23rd, and on Monday November 24th from 2:00 -4:00 pm and 7:00 -9:00 pm. Funeral service to was held on Tuesday November 25th at 11:00 am at Barrett's Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Commentary. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Kyle Brandon Way of Shoal Harbour announces his passing on Tuesday Nov. 18, 2014 at the age of 22 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his parents Ann and Sheldon Way of Shoal Harbour; girlfriend Angy Hearn; grandparents Lewis and Marg Way of Bonavista and Grandmother Marjorie Blundon of Shoal Harbour, Aunts, Uncles and a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by his twin sister Katelyn, grandfather Stanley Blundon, Uncle Philip Blundon and Aunt Penney Eddy. Funeral service was officiated by Rev. R. Case from Memorial United Church, Clarenville on Saturday Nov. 22, 2014. Cremation has taken place. Pallbearers were: Mike Martin, Mark Pardy, Charlie Brinston, Lucas Ackerman, Garrett Strong and Julian Johnson. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundons Funeral Home - Shoal Harbour.

Beloved wife of the late Wilson Stewart Thompson. Loving mother of David of Napanee, Anne Alexandre (Gerald) of Langley, B.C. and Barb Gray (Peter) of Thornton. Cherished grandmother of Katie and Jaquie. Dear sister of the late Wallace Webber (Annie of Port Blandford, Nfld.), Della Pittman (late Abel) of Oriskany Falls, NY., and George Webber (Ginny) of Milton, Nfld. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. The family received friends at the Wartman Funeral Home "Napanee Chapel".
