Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on October 25, 2011, Rita Maud Penney (Brady), age 80 from Hickman's Harbour. Predeceased by parents, Alfred and Sarah Pippy; husbands, Arthur James Penney and Thomas Brady; brothers, Augustus and Joseph Pippy; sisters, Mahala Clarke, Elsie Penney and Alfreda Pippy. Leaving to mourn are her sons, Gilbert (Fern), Hayward (Anne), Terry (Loretta), Arthur (Tina) and David (Margaret); 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; brother, George Pippy (Charlotte); sisters, Jessie Vokey, Eliza Hodinnott, Ella Sceviour (Arthur), Lucy Miller, Rachel Clarke (Morris), Rubena Ivany (Harvey) and many other family and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. The funeral service, officiated by Major Phyllis Blundell-Colbourne and Captain Reid Colbourne, took place on Friday, October 28, 2011 from the Salvation Army, Hickman's Harbour with interment following.

Passed peacefully away at the Bonavista Hospital, Bonavista, on October 28, 2011, Martin Dooley, age 74, from Plate Cove. Predeceased by his parents, William and Annie Dooley and companion, Kathleen Power (2011). Leaving to mourn are his brothers, John (Isabelle), Patrick and Leonard (Stella); step children, Gerald (Dorothy), Stella (Leonard), Connie (Gordie), Edith, Jimmy (Margo), Irving, Craig (Kerry), Paul, Paula; 23 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and other family and friends. Rested at the Roman Catholic Church, Plate Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Father Brian Colbert, took place on Monday, October 31st, 2011 with interment following. We regret to announce the passing of Gertrude Frances Woolridge, age 81, from Dunfield at the Bonavista Hospital, on October 27, 2011. Predeceased by husband, Cyril, son, Vincent, daughter, Mabel Fowlow, brother, Tom Clarke and sisters, Mabel Johnson and Chattie Clarke. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are her brother, Raymond Clarke (Bride), daughter-in-law, Gertrude Woolridge, son-in-law, Ernest Fowlow, grandchildren, Beverley Leblanc (Rick), Morris Woolridge (Wanda Hurdle), Eugene Woolridge (Kimberley), Kenneth Woolridge (Lisa), great grandchildren and other family and friends. Predeceased by her father William and brother Craig. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Derek of 25 years; her faithful companion Prancer; mother Blanche Moss; a circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Brian Penney
Passed on: October 31st, 2011

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Brian Penney announces his passing after a very courageous battle with cancer on October 31, 2011 at the age of 55. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Sharon; children Jason, Crystal and Melissa; and a very special grandson Rylan whom pop adored. Also left to mourn brothers John (Sheila), Rex (Linda), Howard (June) and Tony (Bev); sister Dawn (Larry), brothers-in-law Raymond and Glenn (Janet); nephews and nieces Cheryl, Howard, Michael, Stephanie, Chris, Jacob, Julian, Joel, Vanessa and Brad. He will be sadly missed by his large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by parents Ernest and Emma; sisters Deborah and Jacqueline Penney. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Funeral service took place on Thursday, November 3, 2011 from the Salvation Army Citadel. Interment at the Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove. Predeceased by his mother, Viola (1996) and father, Abraham (1999). Luke leaves to mourn his wife and best friend of 44 years, Rowena, 2 daughters, Wannetta (Brian Hynes) and Teena (Calvin Green); 3 granddaughters, Allison and Breanna Hynes and Hannah Green; sister, Audrey Goulding; 2 brothers, Lawrence and Clifford (Eunice), nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends. Left with loving memories her daughters; Wanda Webster (Randell) and Marlene Brinston (Cam), grandchildren; Gillian Brinston-Kurschat (Michael), Jackie Look (Brian), Laurie Holloway (Maurice) and Christopher Brinston, great-grandchildren; Gabi, Charlie, Brianna, Jordyn, Sydney and Taydon; sisters; Jessie Froude, Ella Stanley (Alec), Frances Howells (Tom), brothers Lewis Pelley (Evelyn), Abel Pelley (Mary), sisters in law; Louise Pelley, Marguerite Dalton and Betty Hawman, many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. Albert O'Mahony Manor, Clarenville on Saturday November 12, 2011, Olive Pelley of George's Brook, aged 96 years. Predeceased by her husband Baxter; son Neil; sisters Mary, Beatrice, Ena, Charlotte, Lillian and Daisy; brothers George, Bob and Bert. Left with fond and loving memories are her daughters Jean (Wal), Sheila (Morris), Marion (Elim); son Alan (Doreen); daughter-in-law Effie; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; sister Pearl Carter and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held on Monday, November 14, 2011 from the United Church, Shoal Harbour with interment at the Milton - George's Brook Cemetery. Roland Heplet Blackmore

Roland Heplet Blackmore
of Stratford, in his 90th year, passed away peacefully Sunday November 6th at his residence in Stratford. He was born in Templeman, Newfoundland, son to the late John and Peninah Blackmore. Beloved husband of the late Muriel Blackmore whom he married September 17, 1949. Loving father of Grant and his wife Sandra and their children Josh and Meghan. Also survived by lifelong family friend Esther Robinson and many loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers George Blackmore and his wife Josephine, Frederick Blackmore and his wife Clara, Jacob Blackmore and his wife Dorothy, John Hann Blackmore, as well his sisters Bertha Sparkes and her husband Bertram, Dorothy Rose and her husband Thomas, Elizabeth Bursey and her husband Daniel, Dorcas Amari and her husband Vito, Letsie Bragg and her husband Walter. Roland was a Professional Engineer graduating from McGill University in 1947 and most recently was the Engineering Manager at Cooper-Bessemer in Stratford. Roland was an avid super senior golfer playing until a few months ago. Cremation will take place with burial in Sherbrooke, Quebec. Friends are invited to a reception at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford in the reception centre on Monday November 14, from 2-4 pm. Memories of Roland will be shared at 4 pm. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his daughter, Beverly (Barry) Keough; grandson, Jonathon Sinclair (Ashley and grandaughter, Emily); sisters, Anita (Hedley) Phillips, Janet (Lester) Lambert, Daphne (David) Oliver; brothers, Murlen (Sylvia) Sinclair, Michael (Betty) Sinclair and his best friend, Pricilla Day and good friends, Ben and Julie Blundon and a large circle of friends. John Adams from Bethany United Church, Swift Current on Thursday November 17, 2011 with internment following at United Church Cemetery. Norman is a former employee of Department of Highways as a grader operator with 37 years of service; member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 27 Clarenville; member of Royal Canadian Rangers; member of sponsoring committee of Clarenville Air Cadets 567 Random RCACS.
