GREENING, Esmaralda - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, October 29, 2006, Esmaralda Greening of Musgravetown, aged 76 years. Predeceased by brother Raymond Humby. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Frank of 59 years; daughter Diane (Ray), Wyoming, ON; sons Gordon (Evelyn), Musgravetown, Marvin (Evelyn), Labrador City and Gary (Trixie), Lumsden; sisters Linda (Albert Greening) and Charlotte (Allen Brown), both of Musgravetown; brother Gordon Humby (Violet), Morley's Siding; sister-in-law Florence Humby, Morley's Siding; grandchildren Suzette (Gerald), Jamie (Marlene), Steven (Christine), Daniel (Julie), Kelly (Brian), Kristen, Kim and Gabe; great-grandchildren Lauren, Drew, Emma and Maghan and a large circle of family and friends. GREGORY, Wilson - Passed peacefully away at the Miller Centre, St. John's on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, Wilson Gregory of Come By Chance, aged 56 years. Predeceased by parents Alfred and Beatrice Gregory and brother, Clem. HYNES, Ivan - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, Ivan Hynes of Clarenville, aged 73 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Rowena of 48 years; his children Debbie (Rick), Clarenville, David (Wanda), Grand Prairie, AB, Denise (Terry), Clarenville and Diane (John), Grand Prairie, AB; sisters Ruby Dick, Abbotsford, BC, Audrey Letts, Cochrane, ON and Betty Williams (Alex), Goulds; brothers Harry (Genevive) and Barry (Pauline), both of Clarenville; grandchildren James, Jillian (Michael), Christopher, Michael, Devon, Mitchell, Megan, Joshua and Jonathan; great-grandson Kaleb and a large circle of family and friends. SMITH, Cyril (1972-2006) - Passed away suddenly after a tragic accident on Monday, October 30, 2006, Cyril Smith of Swift Current, aged 34 years. Predeceased by infant brother Ricky (1968) brother Jeffrey (2004), grandparents Douglas and Miriam Smith. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his parents Fred and Lorraine Smith, Swift Current, brother Trevor (Katie), nephew Travis, Inuvik, NWT; sister-in-law Gail Smith, nieces, Melanie and Kristian, Spruce Grove, AB; grandparents Wes and Alice Eddy, Sibley's Cove and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service took place Friday November 3, 2006 from Bethany United Church, Swift Current, interment followed at United Church Cemetery.

CONNORS, Gregory Donald - Passed peacefully away at his residence on Friday October 27, 2006, Gregory Donald Connors of Tickle Cove, Bonavista Bay, aged 25 years. Predeceased by great-grandparents John and Mary Elizabeth Connors, grandfather Micheal Austin Connors, grandparents Philip and Catherine Kelly, Richard and Gladys Murphy. Leaving behind with most heartfelt memories, parents Sam and Cathy, brother Shawn, grandmother Sarah Connors and special friend Mark (Gander) and a large circle of aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Connors and Kelly families. Rested at Sacred Heart Church, Open Hall. Funeral service held on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 with interment at Open Hall cemetery. HICKS, Sophie (1916-2006) - We regret to announce the passing of Sophie Hicks of Bonavista, aged 90 years. Predeceased by her husband John Hicks. Leaving to mourn brothers Ack (Claudine) Abbott, Joseph Abbott, Mass, U.S.A., sisters Ruby Abbott, Una Abbott, Elizabeth Abbott and Meta Butler, Bonavista and also Hazel White. A large circle of nieces, nephews and relatives. Memorial service held on October 30, 2006 at Bonavista with interment at United Church Cemetery.

HOLLOWAY, Alonzo - Passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, November 1, 2006, Alonzo Holloway of Port Blandford, aged 65 years. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Martha and sister Verna Mullett. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Doris of 42 years; daughter Corena, sons Colin and Christopher and their families; mother-in-law Dulcie Holloway; brother Albert Holloway and family; grandchildren Amanda, Peyton, Brandie and Adrian; great-grandson Christian and a large circle of relatives and friends. HOLLETT, Lambert - Passed away suddenly at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, Lambert Hollett of Garden Cove, aged 67 years. Predeceased by father Garfield; sisters Marion and Jessie and brother Chesley. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Elvina of 42 years; daughters Beulah Hollett, Connie (Norman Giles) and Tammy (Randy Maye), all of Garden Cove; sons Brian (Tonia), Leroy Monique) and Dwayne, all of Garden Cove; mother, Alice Hollett, Foxtrap; sisters Beatrice (Hubert Butler), Seal Cove, Maude (Jack Temple), Sunnyside and Mary Jerome Paul), Badger; brother Freeman (Sheila), Arnold's Cove; grandchildren Kristen, Charmaine, Maxwell, Nicole, Cole, Sheena and Dean; mother-in- law, Mary Lockyer and a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. BROWN, John - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Brown of Salvage. This well-known family man and accordion player was born Nov. 4,1926 and died Nov. 7, 2006 at G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, NL. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Predeceased by his wife Irene (nee Ralph) 1984. Leaving to mourn his children, Donna Wheeler (Paul) Halifax, NS; Dianne Ash (Randy) Edmonton, AB; Glenn (Roxanne) Manuels, NL; Doris Brown, Placentia, NL and Margaret Hancock (Lewis) Clarenville, NL; grandchildren Kristen and Justin Wheeler, Chelsea and Shaylah Ash, Paige and Riley Brown and great-grandson Parker Wheeler. His very dear friend Mrs. Beryl Johnson. Also, other relatives and a large circle of friends. Remains rested at Squire's Funeral Home Eastport, NL. Funeral serv ices were held at St. Stephen's Church Salvage, Nov. 11, 2006. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Salvage, NL. STRONG, Wilfred (Whit) - Passed peacefully away at Dr. GB Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, November 16, 2006, Wilfred (Whit) Strong of Clarenville, aged 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Dot of 69 years; daughters Linda MacEwen (Monty), Goodwood, ON and Cindy Strong, Shoal Harbour; sons Leslie (late Frances), Burton, NB, Nick (Carol-Ann), Shoal Harbour and Merlin (Violet), Italy Cross, NS; two granddaughters, nine grandsons, one great-granddaughter, five great-grandsons and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held Sunday, November 19, 2006 from Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. DOMINEY, Ernest - We grieve the loss of husband, father and brother who passed away on November 6th at age 52 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba (formerly of Musgravetown). He'll be missed deeply by his wife of 29 years, Joyce (nee Chaffey), sons Steven (Sara) and Scott, sister Gertie (Gerald), aunt Gertie (Ted) Walters, parents-in-law Anetta and Dalman Chaffey, sister-in-law Kay (Dave), nephew David (Sue), nieces Angie and Jennifer, stepmother Eva Dominey and family and friends. Funeral service held on November 13th at Heritage United Church in Musgravetown.

AVERY, Audrey Gladys - Passed away suddenly in the presence of her family at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, November 8, 2006, Audrey Gladys Avery of Southport, aged 82 years. Predeceased by brother Fredrick James and parents Frank and Winnifred White. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband Silas of 61 years; children Marguerite (Edwin Seward), Gooseberry Cove, James (Alice), Hatchet Cove, Harvey (Joyce), Southport, Judy (Wilmore Jacobs), Dartmouth, NS and Cindy (Ron Smith), Gooseberry Cove; sister Ruby Boone, Lewisporte; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Power's Funeral Home, Little Heart Ease. Funeral service held Saturday, November 11, 2006 from United Church, Southport with interment at New United Cemetery, Southport.

WHITE, Raymond James - It is with great sadness the family of the late Raymond James White, age 77, from Princeton, announce his peaceful passing at the Health Science Complex, St. John's, on November 11, 2006. Predeceased by parents William and Elizabeth White and stepfather, Frank King; brothers; George, Frank and Stanley. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife of nearly 50 years, Clarice; children, Don (Gay), Glenda (Alan Thorne), Barry (Carol), Karen (Aubrey Rose), Scott; seven grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the Eventide Memorial Chapel, Charleston, from where the funeral service, officiated by Mr. Harry Templeman, took place on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 with interment following at the United Church Cemetery, Princeton. PIKE, Lillian Marjorie (nee Coombs) - Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on November 13, 2006, age 69 years. Predeceased by parents, Lawrence and Marion Coombs, sister and brother-in-law, Cavell and Clarence Winsor, brother, George Coombs. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her devoted and loving husband of 44 years, Clarence; son, Graham (Karen); grandson, Devin; granddaughters, Taylor and Ashley; sisters, Linda (Albert) Waye, Betty (Sterling) Benger, Lethbridge, NL, Christina (Robert) Bennett, St. John's; brother, Bert (Dinah) Combs, Corner Brook, special friends Emily Stares and Geraldine Bridal; also a large number of other nieces, great-nieces, nephews and great-nephews and other relatives and friends. ROONEY, David Richard (Dave) - August 13, 1937 - November 9, 2006 of St. John's and Lower Island Cove. In the presence of his wife and son while being held in a circle of love, Dave passed over. From 1972-1984, he served as Member of Parliament for the former riding of Bonavista-Trinity-Conception, which always remained a special place for him. This was especially true for the North Shore - his birthplace. Predeceased by parents Alexander and Ethel (Garland) Rooney, and sister Jennifer Kitchen. Left to celebrate his life, love, appreciation of music and sense of humor are his wife, partner and best friend Ruth, and his son and fishing buddy, David. Dave will also be remembered by his sister Carolyn (Maj. Barry Cockerline, Ret'd), Belleville, ON; brothers John (Shirley) and Jim (Maxine), brother-in-law Dr. Hubert Kitchen, all residing in St. John's. Also, several nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of other relatives, friends, and former colleagues throughout Newfoundland and Labrador and across Canada. Rested at Barrett's Funeral Home 328 Hamilton Ave. on Sunday and Monday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held from Barrett's Chapel on Tuesday November 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Interment followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. BUTLER, Carl George (Pat) - Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre in Grand Falls-Windsor, on November 10, 2006, Carl George (Pat) Butler. He was 74 years of age. Mr. Butler retired from the Canadian National Railways in 1988. Predeceased by father, W.H. Butler; mother, Lillian Butler; brothers, Jim and Bruce Butler; son, Randy. Left to mourn are wife, Marie; sons, Jim (Debbie), Michael (Karen) both of Grand Falls-Windsor; daughter-in-law, Phyllis (Bill) of Arnold's Cove; grandchildren, Melissa and Heather of Grand Falls-Windsor, Jason (Lisa), Natasha (Craig) of Whitby, ON; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Madison of Whitby, ON; cousin, Edna Butler; sister-in-law, Rose Butler both of Shoal Harbour and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Reverend R. Mercer conducted funeral services at the United Church in Shoal Harbour on Tuesday, November 14. Interment was at the United Church Cemetery, Shoal Harbour. DUFFETT, Lenfield "Len" - Passed peacefully away at home surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness, on Monday, October 30, 2006. Len, in his 51st year. Beloved husband of Karen. Devoted dad to Colin and Courtney. Dear brother of Victor (Julia), Edward (Linda), Maxine Whelan, Doris Leawood (Chesley), Leona Vatcher (Reginald), Winnie Perrin (Wilson), Beryl Osmond (Derek), Brenda Ducey (Joseph), Albert (Kathleen) and the late Boyce, and Sheila Duffett. Predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Willis Duffett. Relatives and friends were received at the Mclntosh-Anderson Funeral Home, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service was held in the chapel on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 1 p.m. with interment at Thornton Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Len to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.

TOOPE, Charles - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Tuesday, November 21, 2006, Charles Toope of Old Bonaventure, aged 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mary of 53 years; daughter Linda Davis (Graham), Clarenville; sons Cyril (Norma), Old Bonaventure, Hayward, Old Bonaventure, Dave (Tracey), Old Bonaventure and Ivan (Heather), Clarenville; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at St. John Anglican Church, New Bonaventure. Funeral service held Thursday, November 23, 2006 from St. John Anglican Church, New Bonaventure with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Old Bonaventure. Predeceased by son Stanley and parents Herbert and Emaline Bailey.
