HAMPTON, Ralph
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on Sunday, Oct 28, 2001, Ralph E. Hampton of Portland, aged 88 years. Predeceased by his wife Dorothy, sons Gary and Barry and brother Willis. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are daughters Lorraine (Bruce Bowen) in Toronto, ON, Laura (John Pye) in Brooklyn, Margaret (Alex Ting) in Edmonton, AB, and Marilyn in Toronto, ON; sons Vincent (Jean) in Brampton, ON, Lyman (Lorraine) in Canning's Cove. Marvin (Daisy) in Mississauga, ON, Morris (Joyce) in Portland, and Dale in Portland; daughters-in-law Sherry Hampton in Edmonton, AB and Marlene Hampton in Toronto, ON; sisters Hazel Butt in Clarenville, Alice Muggridge in Winterbrook, Phyllis Little in Bloomfield and Myrtle Hampton in Seal Cove; brothers Maxwell Hampton ( Leah) in Jamestown and Clifford Hampton in Bloomfield; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, Oct.31, 2001 from Anglican Church, Jamestown, with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Jamestown. In his memory donations may be made to Sunshine Manor at Dr. G.B. Cross Hospital or Anglican Church, Jamestown.

SIMMS, Judy
Passed away at the Lakeside Homes in Gander on Oct. 27, 2001, Mrs. Judy Simms in her 46th year. Left with warm and loving memories are parents Lindsay and Jean Hiscock of Trinity; husband Guy Simms; son Danny of Gander; daughter Kristi and Lorne Vivian of Gander; sister Linda and husband Fred Goldsworthy of Trinity; brothers Gary and Andrea Hiscock of St. John's; Geoffrey and Lisa Mouland of Trinity; uncle Alfred Hiscock of Trinity; brother-in-law Wes Simms of Gander Bay; sisters-in-law Phyllis Harris of Gander Bay; Mabel Bauld of Gander Bay; Reta Brinson of Fredrickton several nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home. Funeral service was held Tuesday, October 30, 2001, from the Anglican Church in Trinity. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Trinity. Flowers accepted or donations may he made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Stacey's Funeral Home Ltd. Gander.

Passed away suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, November 6, 2001, Frederick Russell of Winterbrook, aged 67 years. Predeceased by his son Dennis and his parents Ralph and Elizabeth Russell. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Eve of 42 years; son Roger (Ada), Winterbrook; grandson Robert; sister Margaret (Samuel Little); and a circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge from where the funeral took place on Friday, November 9, 2001 with interment at Anglican Church Cemetery, Winterbrook.

IVANY, Janet
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, Nov 5, 2001, Janet Ivany of Petley, aged 52 years. Predeceased by her mother Jean Walters. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Garfield of 31 years; daughter Lily (Steve), Petley; sons: Junior (Cheryl), Toronto and Danny (Carla), Shoal Harbour; father Ted Walters, Aspey Brook; sister Barbara (Boyce Smith), Petley; brothers: Dan (Karen), Petley, Alonzo (Lil), Toronto, Joe (Judy), Alberta, Alfred (Lisa), Clarenville, Bob (Michelle), Milton and Bill, Milton; grandchildren Jordan and Joshua and a circle of family and friends. Rested at All Saints Anglican Church, Petley. Funeral service held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001 from All Salnts Anglican Church, Petley with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Petley. MARCH, Effie Maud
Passed peacefully away at Hoyles-Escasoni Complex, St. John's on Friday, November 2, 2001, Effie Maud March of Clarenville, aged 85 years. Predeceased by her husband George. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories son Harold (Grace), Clarenville; one sister Annie Fulton, Haverhill, Mass.; one brother Stan Barfett (Betty), North Field, Mass.; two sisters-in-law Bessie Barfett, St. John's, and Ethel Barfett, Shoal Harbour; two grandchildren, Teena Spurrell (Mike), and Corina (Robin); one great-granddaughter, Jailen; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held on Monday, November 5, 2001 from Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interrnent at the United Cemetery, Clarenville.

GOOBIE, Joseph George Jr.
It is with great sadness the family of the late Joseph Goobie of Queen's Cove, age 68, announce his passing at G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on Thursday, October 25, 2001. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Margaret Gregory of St. John's, Agnes Green of Goobies, Violet Pike of Lethbridge; brothers Joshua (Annie) of Queen's Cove, Arthur (Lena) of Ottawa, Rex (Mary) of Queen's Cove; nieces, nephews and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Queen's Cove United Church from where the funeral took place Monday, October 29, 2001. Interment was at Queen's Cove United Church cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

HART, Raymond
Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Saturday, October 27, 2001, Raymond Charles Hart of Lady Cove, Random Island, aged 78 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Mabel; children Barbara and Barry (Gloria); grandchildren Leanne, Wanda Lee, Ryan, Danny, Joanne and Jennifer; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour, Random Island. Funeral service held on Tuesday, October 30, 2001, Raymond's birthday, from Lady Cove United Church with interment at United Church Cemetery, Lady Cove.

PENNEY, Calvin Wayne
(Little Rapids)

Passed peacefully away on November 9, 2001 after many long years of diabetes and its complications, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Calvin Wayne Penney at the age of 46. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Calvin died as he lived, with strength and dignity. Calvin was predeceased by his mother Dora Penney, December 1980 and his baby sister Heather in 1959. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 19 years Beverley (Batt); father Earl and stepmother Irene; brother Glen (Ann Marie), St. John's; sister Lori Penney, Halifax; mother and father-in-law Wilbert and Beverley Batt; four sisters-in-law Marilyn (Kerry) Reid, Cindy Batt (Chad), Jean Batt, Joan Batt; two brothers-in-law Hardy Batt (Bev), Billy (Angie); very special nieces and nephews Sarah and Daniel Penney, Andrew and Heather Reid, Riley Chaulk and many close and dear friends. The memorial service was held Monday, November 12 from All Saints Anglican Church, Clarence Street, followed by a private burial service at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation, the Children's Wish Foundation or the Diabetes Association (Corner Brook Branch).

HOLLOWAY, L. Clyde
Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, Clyde Holloway of Monroe in his 73rd year. Predeceased by his wife, Theresa (1986) and brother, Fred (1996). Leaving to mourn one daughter, Judy Oldford (Doug), Monroe; three sons, Stephen (Ann), Wabush; Gordon (Marie), Monroe and Llewellyn (Judy), Fort McMurray, AB; sisters, Eleanor Reid (Ted), British Columbia; Maud Sutton (Wilfred), Burgoyne's Cove and Mabel Gosse (James), Torbay; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Anglican Church, Monroe. Funeral service held on Monday, Nov. 19, 2001 ftom Anglican Church, Monroe with interment at St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Monroe. In his memory donations may be made to Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital or the charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville.
