He loved to golf with his buddies who will miss him; he looked forward to trips with his fishing and moose hunting buddies; he played recreation hockey for several years; He completed the Tely 10 four times; he was a certified diver and bronze medallion swimmer; he loved reading --literature, history, politics; he was a keen movie and trivia buff and an abiding animal lover. A favorite collection of his included the books by the great British veterinarian James Herriot. But his passion was music, with eclectic and varied musical tastes from Sarah Brightman to George Jones. Albion Roy Holloway
Passed on: May 15th, 2015
Albion Roy Holloway
of Bloomfield passed away tragically on Friday, May 15th 2015 at the age of 63. Left with broken hearts and cherished memories are his children, Tammy and Scott (Heather) of Ontario, his dearly loved grandchildren Aidyn Goodyear and Piper Holloway; sisters Joan Coffin (Lorne), Myra Oake (Wallace), Marlene Coles (Ian) and brothers Cram (Val) and Wayne (Anne Marie) all of Bloomfield. Nieces Cathy, Jennifer and Stacey and nephew Shaun and great niece Trinity and nephews Nathan and Hayden. Also left to mourn his loss is a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Caleb and Eunice, granddaughter Hayleigh Goodyear and son-in-law, Clifton Goodyear. Albion, Albie, Brud and Bim were some of the favorite names we liked to call him. Albion was a man of many trades and was always willing to lend a hand to any task that needed done. On his trips to Ontario to visit his children he enjoyed being "put to work" with building decks, renovating rooms and fussing with the lawn. His smile and his greeting, "How's everything" will be forever remembered. Albion was fiercely proud of his children and their accomplishments, although was perplexed with their taste in hockey teams. He enjoyed nothing more than a day of fishing or weekend of hunting with the boys, a frustrating round of golf with his son or watching his Montreal Canadiens beat his daughter's much loved Maple Leafs. Albion embodied the laid back, good-hearted way of living we all aspire to. He was known for his vast baseball hat collection, his wardrobe of dark splash pants and well-worn hockey t-shirts. He thought dress shirts were ridiculous, suits unnecessary and dress shoes a waste of hard earned money. Albion had a good heart, was a true friend, a loving family man, dependable colleague and terrific father. He was truly a beautiful person from the inside out. To know him was to love him. Raise a glass in Albion's memory; after all it's twelve o'clock somewhere. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home and laid to rest with his parents in the Salvation Army Cemetery Musgravetown on Saturday, May 23rd, 2015. To honor Albion's life, donations in his memory can be made to Feral Felines Rescue & Rehabilitation (www.feralfelinesrescue.com).
