John J. (Jack) Barry
Passed on: April 27th, 2012

Passed peacefully away at his home in Clarenville on Friday, April 27, 2012, Jack Barry. Predeceased by son Shaun. Left with wonderful loving memories his wife, snuggle buggle and best friend Georgina (Vardy) & loyal companion Buddy; daughters Heather (John) and Stephanie (Jenn); son Michael (Cheryl); grandchildren Andrew, Jonathan, Anna, Adam and Tinaya; three great grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Monday, April 30, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church. In his memory, donations may be made to the Clarenville Area SPCA, 125 Huntley Drive, Clarenville, NL, A5A 4L1. Jack was very active in sports especially Soccer and in many service groups - Legion, Rotary, Lions and as a Community Volunteer. His working career consisted of Military (Air Force), Public Health Inspection and Army Reserves-Canadian Rangers.

Passed peacefully away at the G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital Clarenville on Monday April 23, 2012 Annie Myra Penney of Charlottetown in her 76th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving are her sons Randy Ford (Linda) of Keswick, Ont. And Glen Ford (Suzanne) of St. John's, daughters Carolyn Byrne (Paul) of Hamilton, Ont. And Beryl Simmonds (Lewis) of Charlottetown, grand children Kyle Ford, Rebecca Byrne, Jessica and Jeremy Nichol, Jim Simmonds (Tammy), Shawn Simmonds (Theresa), Stephen Simmonds (Melinda); great grandchildren Victoria, Brady, Michael, Sydney, Neveah and Jacob, sister Nina Pearce and brother Sidney Chaulk plus a large circle of other family and friends. Pre-deceased by husband Boyd, daughter Bernice, sister Mable and brother Robert. Funeral service was officiate by Candidate Daniel Kelly from Charlottetown Salvation Army Church with interment following at Community Cemetery Charlottetown. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theodore (Ted) Garfield Walters, age 80 of Champney's East on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Predeceased by his parents Llewellyn and Phoebe Walters; brothers Harold, Clarence, Hezekiah; sister Vinnie. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Gertrude; sons Junior (Christine), Glen (Shirley), Geoffrey (Beverley); daughters Pamela (Kevin MacLellan), Bonnie (Robert Hiscock): 18 grandchildren Chantille (Craig Elliott), Vanessa (Craig Kelly), Kayla and Kelsey Pelley, Crystal and Christy Walters, Fallon, Melissa and Hilary Walters, Mark and Jacob MacLellan, Nathan, Matthew, Daniel, Monica, Rebecca, Jared and Jaydon Hiscock; 4 great grandchildren Logan, Kenna, Chase, Gavin; brothers Donald; sisters Hilda, Helen, Dorothy, Edith plus a large circle of family and friends. Passed peacefully away at her home on April 21, 2012, Annie Freake age 98 years. Predeceased by her husband Andrew and brother Jack. Leaving to mourn son Melvin (Doris); daughters Marjory (Bud) and Iris (Don); 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and sister in law Ellen. Funeral took place on Wednesday, April 25th at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Catalina.

Passed away suddenly at home in Ontario on April 21, 2012. Leaving to mourn sons Mark (Lisa) Thistle and Davy Thistle; grandchildren Jesse, Rachel and Sara; sister Georgina (Jack) Barry; brother Ed (Sharon) Vardy and cousin Dianne Ross. She also leaves relatives and friends, especially Glenda, Ann and Lillian. She will be remembered by her nursing class of 1961. Interment will be held at Clarenville at a later date.

Predeceased by sisters Ada and Alice; brothers Neil and Morgan. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Ruby of 39 years; step-son Graham (Susan); grandchildren Lidia and Oliver; brothers Reginald (Marion) and Walter (Jessie); brother-in-law Walter Allen; sisters-in-law Bessie Slade and Norma Slade and a large circle of family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on May 1, 2012, Stephen Hayward Frank Price, age 67. Predeceased by his parents, Moses and Effie Price. Leaving to mourn are his wife, Olive, sons Stephen (Michelle), and Charlie (Marilyn), daughter Teina (Jeff), and grandchildren Zoe, Brady, Brent, and Jeremy. Also leaving to mourn are his sisters Mary (Terry), Loretta (Tiny), Ethel (Albert), Beatrice, Beverley (Wayne), Daphne (Melvin), Rosella (Roger), Barbara (Wayne), and brothers Charlie (Ivy), Jack (Marge), Dorman (Patricia), and Terry. Rested at the Grace United Church, Hillview, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Glenn Jarvis, took place on May 5, 2012, with interment following. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Bernadette Newman; half brother Alonzo Cave. Left with fond and loving memories his companion Marie Johnson; daughter Nancy Smith (Grant), Fort McMurray, AB; sons Keith (Marilyn), Embree, Christopher (Chastity), Clarenville and Paul (Anna), St. John's; grandchildren McKenna, Claire and Callie-Jo; sisters Loretta Slaney (William), Dunville and Eileen Sweetland (Alex), Clarenville; brothers Gerard (Hattie), St. John's and Ben, St. John's; and a large circle of family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on May 7th, 2012, Doris Mary Spurrell, age 97, from Gooseberry Cove. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Spurrell, daughter Ivy Cable, and parents John and Elizabeth Churchill. Also predeceased by brothers Caleb (Myrtle), George, Clayton, Kenneth; sisters Minnie Green (Wallace), and Beatrice Porter (Charl Pitcher); brother-in-law George Barfette; daughters-in-law Edna, Eugena, Shirley, and Priscella; and grandchildren Chad Spurrell, Mitchell Tibit, and Brooke Longstreet. She leaves to mourn with fond memories sons Ross, Jacob (Kathleen), Reginald (Rita), Donald (Ivy), Winston (Darlene), George, and Andrew (Alfreda); daughters Alice Smith (Allan), Alma Jane (John), Marjorie Smith (Harvey), and special granddaughter whom she raised Michelle Price (Stephen) in addition to 25 other grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 12 great great-grandchildren . Leaving to mourn with loving memories mother Edna, son Tyler George (Amy), and friend Wanda Langer. Also leaving to mourn brother Bruce (Joy); sisters Valda (John Butt), Donna (Rex Strowbridge), Tina (Rick Butt), and Tracy (Lorne Vardy); nephews Ryan, Andrew, Shawn, Kyle, and Curtis; nieces Crystal, Wendy, Ashley, Laura, and Katelyn; great-niece Kayla and great-nephew Cody; as well as aunts, uncles, and many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell (1980), her parents George and Caroline Abbott, and a large family of brothers and sisters, her infant great grandson Carter Osmond Bishop. Leaving to mourn her three children; son Philip; daughters Sarah Earles (Clarence - deceased), Margaret Osmond (Robert - deceased); 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, as well as a number nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Church of the Ascension, Brookside after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23. Funeral service took place at 2:00 p.m. May 24, 2012 from Church of the Ascension, Brookside.
