ADAMS - Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Thursday, April 29, 2010, Denika Adams of Shoal Harbour, aged 18 years. Predeceased by great grandfather Clyde Adams, cousin Hailey Adams and great grandmother Susie Oldford. Left with fond and loving memories her mother Crystal Adams, father Calvin Tucker; sister Melanie; grandparents William and Arlene Adams, Tobias and Annie Tucker; great grandparents Mildred Adams, Rosstin and Louisa Pike; boyfriend Gary Williams; a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at Milton-Georges Brook Cemetery.

PYE - Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Friday, April 30, 2010, Clarice Pye of Jamestown, aged 71 years. Predeceased by husband Boyd, grandson Gary Ellis; brothers Albert Haines and Raymond Haines and sister Meta Moss. Left with fond and loving memories her daughter Diane Pye (Dave); sons Paul (Doreen) and Ray (Myra); sister Annie Ash; brother Frank Haines (Jean); sisters-in-law Pearl Simmons (Bruce) and Laura Pye; brothers-in-law Lewis and Ron (Brenda); grandchildren Michael, Angela, Jennifer, Stephanie and Dylan; great grandchildren Tyler and Emily; special niece Blanche (Doug Little) and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held on Monday, May 3, 2010 from the United Church, Lethbridge with interment at United Cemetery, Lethbridge. BARFETT - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial, Clarenville on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, Edgar Taylor Barfett of Clarenville, aged 92 years. Predeceased by wife Susie; daughter Dallas; brother George; step-brother William; grandsons Dale Norris and Baby Stringer and special friend Vina Meadus. Left with fond and loving memories his daughters Daphne (Heber Pitts), Clarenville, Blanche (Armine Stringer), Caplin Cove and Marie (Cyril Whalen), Long Cove; sons Wesley (Ivy), Clarenville, Clyde (Beverley), 100 Mile House, BC and Ellisson (Jane), Eastport; sister Blanche Mercer, Clarenville; foster brother Thomas Benson (Violet), Hillview; brother-in-law Weldon Stoyles (Violet), Hillview; 24 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; special friend Shirley Keats; special care givers Edna and Ed Hart, Lady Cove and a large circle of family and friends. STOYLES - Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on May 6, 2010, Francis Stoyles, age 88, from Hillview. Predeceased by his wife, Nita; parents, Edward and Elizabeth; brothers, Edmund (Rita), David, Olin (Dorothy) and sister, Clarice (George). Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories are his children, Roy (Rosalind), Daphne (Lorenzo), Brian (Helen) and Ross (Gladys); 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Ena (Jim) and Jane (Harry-deceased) ; sister-in-law, Daisy and other relatives and friends. Rested at the United Church, Hillview, from where the funeral service officiated by Rev. Glenn Jarvis took place on Sunday, 2 pm with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

BURT - Passed away suddenly at the Dr. G. B.Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on May 6, 2010, Howard William Burt, age 70 , from Elliott's Cove. Predeceased by parents, William and Cecilia Burt and brother, Eugene. He leaves to mourn his wife of 45 years, Joan; son, Anthony (Crystal); daughter, Marilyn (Doug Hiscock); grandchildren, Christa, Ashley, Sabrina, Cassandra, Victoria and Damien; sister-in-law, Doreen and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the Central United Church from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Vera Abbott, took place on Sunday, May 9, 2010 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

HODDER - Passed peacefully away after a courageous battle, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville, NL, Effie Hodder (nee Ploughman) on May 1st, 2010 of George's Brook in her 83rd year. Predeceased by the love of her life, Arthur Warren Hodder. Left with fond and loving memories her daughters Diane Hodder of St. John's, NL, Janet Parsons of St. Phillips, NL, Linda Tippett, (John) of Gin Cove, NL and Carolyn Dwyer (Pat) of CBS, NL; sons Roger Hodder of George's Brook, NL and Jeffrey Hodder, (Daphne March) of St. John's, NL; sister Beulah Florio of Glenmoore, Pennsylvania, USA; brother Colin Ploughman of Golspie, Scotland; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Pike (Hodder) & Francis Hodder, both of St. John's, NL; grandchildren Ken Butler (Melanie - Meaghan & Jared), Stephen Parsons (Tami - Sadiya & Oceana), Heather Parsons, Tony Norcross (Vicki - Ashley & Rhianna), Sean Tippett (Tammy - Cole & Matt), Nancy Olympia ( - Trey), Dean Dwyer (Michelle - Cole, Keishia & Emma), Tracy Delaney (Wylie - Melissa & Carter), Melanie Kelly Dwyer, Rachael & Jamie Bowdridge, Stephen & Rebecca Hodder. Predeceased by sisters Doris Warren, Deborah Tavenor, Georgina (Dolly) Benedict, Edna Corkum, Mae Corkum; brothers Bernard Ploughman, Eric Ploughman, Benjamin Ploughman, Edwin Ploughman, Ralph Ploughman. Also left with fond and loving memories are a wide circle of relatives and friends. Following cremation, memorial services were held at George's Brook/Milton United Church on May 6th and St. David's Presbyterian Church in St. John's on May 12th, 2010. Interment followed at the Groves Road Cemetary, St. John's. Donations in her memory may be made to St. David's AMS. Special thanks from her family to the nurses and Dr. Brannan in the medicine unit at the Dr. G. B. Cross Hospital as well as Rev. Karen Bursey and Rev. Sharon Earle-Marshall.

MURPHY - Passed peacefully away at the G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on Sunday May 2, 2010 Eliza Murphy of Charlottetown in her 83rd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons: Roland Powell (Mamie), Alex Murphy (Cavelle), and Junior Murphy (Brenda); daughters: Dianne Smith (Scott) and Janet Whalen (Blaine) all of Charlottetown; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren plus a large circle of other family and friends. Funeral service was officiated by Lieutenant Danette Downton from the Salvation Army Church, Charlottetown on Wednesday May 5, 2010 with interment following at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Charlottetown. Pallbearers were Grandsons: Darrell Smith, Shane Smith, Danny Powell and Brandon Murphy; Great grandson: Ryan Powell and Nephew Hedley Powell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family. WALTERS - passed peacefully away at the Dr. Albert O'Mahony Memorial Manor on Thursday, May 6th, 2010, Violet Walters of Burgoyne's Cove, age 82 years. Predeceased by husband Alonzo, father Job Carberry; mother Rebecca Carberry, brothers Alfred Carberry and William Carberry, sisters Barbara Parrott, Mildred Anderson, Jean Walters and Dorothy Carberry, granddaughter Roxanne Langer and great-granddaughter Chelsea Penney. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons; Bramwell Walters (Sandra), Maxwell Walters (Maxine), Aubrey Walters (Audrey), daughters; Myrtle Langer (Samuel), Dorothy Penney (Harvey), Viola Webster (Brendon), Rosalind Tucker (Gilbert), Minnie Miller (Tobias), Rebecca Rose (Merviell), brother; Herbert Carberry (Alfreda), sister; Priscella Day and brother-in-law; Gilbert Parrott, 22 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. INGRAM - After a short illness Lilly Frances Ingram (1914-2010), of Arnold's Cove, left to join her beloved Berkley (April 27, 2007). Predeceased by brothers Jim, Lou, Jack and the Rev. Douglas Best; sisters Melinda Gregory (George), Lillian Parsons (Nathan), Gertrude Gregory (Wes) and Hilda. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are sons Norman (Regina Noseworthy) and Gordon (Janet Hookey); grandchildren Wanda Lee Jamieson (Norman), Carol Ann, Deborah Lynn, Scott (Katherine Britt), Wendy (Andrew McDonald) and Joanne Armstrong (Adam); great- grandchildren Stacey and Justin Jamieson, Amanda Collins, Maximillian Ingram, Michelle Lynn and Grace Adele MacDonald; nephews Douglas Best and Raymond Allen; nieces Hilda Wareham and Gwen Warren; sisters-in-law Ivy Pittman, Marie Dicks (Jim), Vera Parsons (Ches), Juanita Mullins (Don), Rowena Peach (Otto) and their children; caregivers Hannah Rodway and Carrie Brace. Moss - We regret to announce the peaceful passing of Lloyd Moss, age 78, from Port Blandford at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on May 9th, 2010. Predeceased by parents, John and Ethel Moss and brother, Jack (Gladys) Moss. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Clara Joyce and son, Dennis; sisters, Martha Tucker (Samuel- deceased) and Lydia (Derek Stephenson) and other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Aidens Anglican Church, Port Blandford from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jessie Broaders took place on May 12th, 2010 with interment following. SKIFFINGTON - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, May 13, 2010, Eliza J. Skiffington of Bloomfield, aged 83 years. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell Skiffington; brothers Whitfield and Lewis Holloway; sisters Annie Greening and Jessie Penney and grandson Kenneth Skeffington. Predeceased by husband Cyril, sons Raymond and Warren and son-in-law Adam Green. CAREY - passed peacefully away at Bonavista Hospital, Sunday, May 9th, Francis Carey. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Barbara, daughters Karen (Dave Lubianetzky), Patsy (Bill-deceased), sons John, Brian, sister Alice, grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Funeral took place at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, King's Cove.

FRY - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family on Wednesday, April 28th 2010 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Virginia Fry (Peddle), aged 90 years of Gander, formerly of Glenwood. Predeceased by her baby daughter Joan, brothers Rex, William, and Gordon, sisters Annie Mae Reid and Minnie Chaffey. Left to mourn are daughters Sheila (John) Lynch of Lewins Cove, Doreen (Clarence) Goodyear of Roddickton and Bonnie (Jim) Piercey of Gander. Grandchildren Krista Lynch of Lewisporte, John Lynch Jr. of St. John's, Carla (Luc) Bellefleur of Moncton, NB, and Michael Goodyear of Halifax, NS, and special great-grandson Nicholas Bellefleur. Also leaving to mourn are brother Harold (Loretta) Peddle of Bloomfield and sisters-in-law Beatrix Peddle of Musgravetown and Dorothy Peddle of Lethbridge and a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband Chesley and son Toby. Left with fond and loving memories daughters Violet (John Trouern Trend), Nettie (Vern Wiseman), Linda (Mack Power); son David (Effie) and Calvin (Myra); daughter-in-law Joan Greening; sister-in-law Joyce Coles; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown. Funeral service took place 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with interment at United Cemetery, Musgravetown.

PICCO - Passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Baine Harbour on Sunday, May 16, 2010, Joseph P. Picco of St. Joseph's, aged 63 years. Predeceased by his parents Stella and Peter. Left with fond and loving memories his companion Louise Walsh; his children Michael (Shannon), Kevin (Tammy), Dean (Michelle) and Darlene (Darren Ballard); sisters Leona (Dennis Best),Regina Best and Lynette (Pius Cheeseman); brothers Patrick (Judy) and Leonard (Christine); grandchildren Alisha, Michelle, Nikki, Nikkia, Tristan, Gillian, Chelsea, Hilary, Darcy, Tanisha, Bradley, Jeffery, P.J. and Alice; great-grandson Ethan and a large circle of relatives and friends. STRONG - Passed peacefully away at Dr. Albert O'Mahony Manor, Clarenville on Monday, May 17, 2010, George Strong of Shoal Harbour, aged 71 years. Predeceased by brother Carl, mother Helen, father Basil and grandson Zachary. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Phyllis of 45 years; children Michelle Strong (Terry), Lisa Chaffey (Claude), Mike (Nicole) and Kala (Jason George); brothers Russell (Betty), Watson (Rose) and Doug (Elsie); grandchildren Braden Chaffey and Daniel George and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Milton -George's Brook United Church with interment at Milton-George's Brook Cemetery.
