DALTON, Anderson
Passed away suddenly at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, May 3, 2001, Anderson (Andy) Dalton of Shoal Harbour, aged 63 years. Predeceased by mother Stella, father John and brothers Gerald, Ronald and Clarence. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his loving wife Nina of 42 years; four daughters Donna Silvia (Glen), Strathroy, ON, Jo-Ann Downey (Samson), London, ON, Delores Power (Ronald), Cambridge, ON and Trina Dalton (peter), Shoal Harbour; sister Verna Wells, Shoal Harbour; brothers Newman (Ivy), Clifford (Linda), both of Shoal Harbour; sister-in-law Lillian Dalton, Little Catalina; seven grandchildren Justin, Danielle, Ashley, Chad, Jordan, Adriene and Keesha; mother-in-law Mrs. Melena Gilbert, Bonavista, brothers-in-law Wallace (Linda) and Cecil Gilbert (Florence); sisters-in-law Bernice Humphries (Percy), Beulah Tilley (Joe), Lena Brazil (Gerard), Joyce Brady (D'arcy), Christine Gilbert and Jessie Gilbert and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held Monday, May 7, 2001 from Shoal Harbour United Church with interment at the new United Church Cemetery, Shoal Harbour.

MARCH, Hayward
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital on May 3, 2001, Mayward March of Lady Cove aged 87 years. Predeceased by his wife Victoria on July 29, 2000. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children: Mable Antle, her husband Eric and their children: Geoff and his wife Dee, Jon, Vicki, Jackie and her fiancée Gerard Gibbons; Wayne and his wife Norma; Randy and his son Bradley; great-grandchildren: Robbie and Stephanie Antle; sisters: Lillian Pelley and Irene King (Baxter). Funeral service held at Lady Cove United Church on May 5, 2001 with interment at Lady Cove United Church Cemetery.

ANDREWS, Herbert (Bert) M.W.
Passed peacefully away at Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, May 5, 2001, Bert Andrews, aged 71 years. Leaving to mourn his daughter Gail (Wilf) of Milton, son Gary of Clarenville, Joan of St. John's; grandchildren Steven, Rod, Katie and Joey. Dot, Derick, Lisa, Perry and Pop's little helper Liaman; a large number of friends at Newfie Knob Estates, Smitteys and his best friend Charlie. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville on Tuesday, May 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

UPSHALL, Clayton
Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center, St. John's on Saturday, May 5, 2001, Clayton G. Upshall of Little Harbour East, Placentia Bay, aged 66 years, 6 months. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife Lillian; stepson Philip Johnson ans wife Alma, Dartmouth, NS; two sisters Alice (William Hann), Little Harbour East and Lillian (Neil Masters), Arnold's Cove; step-brother Andy Masters, Toronto, ON; two grandchildren Shannon and Jackie; three great-grandchildren Justin, Brandon and Erica, Dartmouth, NS; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Anglican Church, Little Harbour East, Placentia Bay. Funeral took place on Tuesday, May 8, 2001 from Anglican Church, Little Harbour East. Donations in his memory may be made to the Anglican Church, Little Harbour East.

DODGE, Gladys Louise
Passed peacefully away at Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge on Tuesday, May 8, 2001 Gladys Louise Ddoge, in her 92nd year. Predeceased by her husband Eli, 1952 and her son-in-law Fred Frampton, December 2000. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Jehu (Joan) and daughter Marjorie Frampton; four grandchildren: Jeffrey (Catherine), Stephen (Sandra), David (Susan) and Jennifer Picherack (Geoffrey); one step-grandson Andy and family; eight great-grandchildren. A special "Mom" and "Nan" to Lillian Loder (Wilfred) and her family Ricky, Mabel, Roxanne and Wade. Also leaving to mourn many loving nephews, nieces and friends; and her special family at the Glenbrook Lodge. Rested at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John's on Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral service was held Friday, May 11, 2001 from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in Hillview, Trinity Bay with interment at the Anglican Cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Cemetery Fund or the Glenbrook Lodge Brookside Gardens.

OLIVER, Evelyn
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, May 10, 2001, Evelyn Oliver of North Harbour, aged 76 years. Predeceased by her parents George and Isabelle Lockyer and infant son Robert. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Cecil of 55 years, daughters Rosalind Newhook (Jonas), Arnold's Cove, Yvonne Loder (Lee), North Harbour, Maxine Slade (Harvey), North Harbour and Dallas Gilbert, St. John's; son Ewart (Sandra), Goose Bay, LB; sisters Minnie Snook (Walter), North Harbour and Alice Eastman (George), Toronto, ON; stepbrother Lloyd Barrett (Eliza), North Harbour; grandchildren James Loder (Renee), Katherine (Rodney Beck), Selma (Chris Harnett), Bradley Newhook, Michelle Oliver and Krista Slade; great grandchildren Jordan and Hannah Loder, Jesse and Lacie Beck and Brandon Harnett and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Bethel United Church, North Harbour. Funeral service held on Sunday, May 13, 2001 from Bethel Unoted Church, North Harbour with interment at Bethel United Cemetery, North Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.

BUTLER, Noah Miller
Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on Sunday, May 13, 2001, Noah Miller Butler of Port Rexton, aged 80 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his brother Leslie and wife Norah of Robert's Creek, BC; nephew Mark; nieces Eileen, Edna, Diane and Adele and a number of relatives and friends. Burial services took place on Thursday, May 17, 2001 at the Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton.

BLUNDELL (MARTIN), Edna
Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in the presence of her loving family and after a short illness, Edna Blundell (Martin) (nee Meadus), in her 87th year. Predeceased by husbands Fenwick (1957) and Cyril (1966), son Stewart (1991), step-son Eric (2000) and son-in-law Walter (1997). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories one son Herbert (Johanna); three daughters Eileen (Raymond), Joyce and Marie (Ronald); daughter-in-law Janet; two step sons Aubrey (rose) and Ted (Mary); step daughter-in-law Jenny; one brother Calvert (lucy); sisters Gladys, Blanche, Leonie (Eli) and Dorothy (Jim); grandchildren Debbie (Tom), Brenda (Grant), Marilyn (Mark), Geoffery, Andree, Nicholle, Wayne (Edith), Jenny (Robin), Barbara (Rick), Martina, Mark, Stacey, Amy, Gwen (Gerald), Annette (Stefan), Craig, Tammi (Jason), Amanda, Tracey and Michelle; great grandchildren Michael, Angela, Dawson, Vanessa, Kayla, Jonathan, Michelle, Bradley, Erica and Carter; and a large circle of relatives, friends and her special family at Random InterFaith Seniors Complex. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville, Thursday, May 17, 2001 and Friday, May 18, 2001 and at the Salvation Army Citadel, Hickamn's Harbour Saturday, May 19, 2001. Funeral services held from the Salvation Army Citadel, Hickamn's Harbour, Sunday, May 20, 2001. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Hickamn's Harbour.
