RODWAY, Anthony (Tony)
Published: April 11, 2019
Passed: March 25, 2019

After a 2 Year battle with cancer, Tony passed away surrounded by his family and best friend at the Health Sciences Centre on March 25, 2019 at the age of 51. Predeceased by his father, Moses, in 2017. Leaving to mourn is his loving and devoted mother, Letha, who was constantly by his side throughout his illness, son Bradley (Megan), daughter Brittany (Brandon), grandson Blake who was his pride and joy, sister Heather, brother in-law Sandy Clarke, dedicated best friend Paul Avery, his loyal dog Diesel and a large circle of family and friends. "Zamboni Tony" took great pride in his job as Facility Attendant at the Eastlink Events Centre and dearly loved the people he met every day. Many will laughingly remember him as the guy who wore his debit card in his hat. In the summertime he gained much satisfaction maintaining "his" ballfields. Prior to his cancer diagnosis "Moose" spent his free time singing, playing guitar and having good times with his many friends. One of his proudest moments was releasing a CD of songs that were written by his father. A sincere thank you to the fabulous nursing staff of 4NorthA, Dr. Hickey, Dr. MacIntyre, Dr. Jones and to Social Worker, Bonnie Hobbs, who was a pure angel for the family during his last days. As per Tony's request, cremation has taken place and in lieu of a funeral service, the family had a celebration of his life with the sharing of stories and special memories at Fewer's Funeral Home on Thursday, March 28th. Donations in his memory gratefully accepted to establish an education fund for his grandson. "Zamboni Tony - smooth as ice"
