Survived by brothers Greg, Aiden, Paul, Bert, Brian and Eddie; and sister Madonna. Born in Sweet Bay, Bonavista Bay; as a young boy Joe grew up working on his father's schooner sailing the coast of Newfoundland. He started Central Forest Products and worked happily for many years in the industry with his sons, Joey and John. Joe had tremendous mechanical skills and was renowned for his ability to analyze and correct a wide variety of problems. He loved to tinker with equipment and fix machinery, and could come up with a solution no matter how complex the issue. He was always positive and never wavered from his faith and convictions. Family was his first priority and he never stopped believing in them regardless of the challenge. Whether it was an outing across Gander Lake with the family or cod fishing in the bay, he was happiest out in nature having those he loved all around him. Seeing him like that made us very happy too.
