Maxwell Peter Skiffington
Passed on: March 3rd, 2013

Passed away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on Sunday, March 3, 2013, Maxwell Skiffington of Musgravetown, aged 84 years. Predeceased by wife Mavis; sister Jessie Keats (John); brothers Fred (Annie) and Rex (Dolly); sisters-in-law Doris (Ralph Matthews) and Joyce Blundon. Left with fond and loving memories his sons Jim (Maureen), Bruce, Wallace and Allan; grandchildren Nicholas and Jillian; brothers-in-law Hector (Joan) Keats; Wallace (Linda) Keats and Larry Blundon; sister-in-law Cavelle (Hayward White) and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with interment at United Cemetery, Musgravetown.

Hubert Nelson Skiffington
Passed on: February 25th, 2013

After a lengthy illness, we regret to announce the passing of Hubert Nelson Skiffington, age 50, from Musgravetown at the St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on February 25, 2013. Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Ruth Skiffington and brothers, Harry and Irving. Leaving to mourn are his loving wife, Darlene; sisters, Ivy (Bert) Holloway, Sheila (Wilfred) Wiseman, Yvonne (Leander) Chatman; mother-in-law, Margaret Penney; brother-in-law, Levi (Sheila) Penney; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. A cremation took place and a memorial service, officiated by Rev. H.R. Templeman, assisted by Rev. E. Wiltshire and Captains Ed and Luanne Burrows, took pace on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from the Heritage United Church Musgravetown with interment following. It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd Chesley Brown, age 63 from Hillview on February 25, 2013. Predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Ida Brown and daughter, Baby Brown. Leaving to mourn with many precious and loving memories are his wife, Mona (nee Loder); daughter, Angela (Kirk Kendall); sons, Carter (Julie) and Leon(Tanya); grandchildren, David, Joshua, Alysha, Tristan and Trent; siblings, Lillian, Blanche (Silas), George (Dallas), Jim (Selina), Ralph (Chris), Albert (Helen), Winston (Sylvia), Joyce (Ray) ,Edgar (Denise) and Nel (Paul); father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Priscilla Loder; brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Mildred Keough (nee Walsh)

Passed on: March 3rd, 2013

After a courageous battle with cancer, Mildred passed away at the Dr. G.B.Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville. Predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Ronald, daughters, Miriam and Wanda and son, Gerald. She is survived by sons, Ronald (Florence), Leo (Rosalie), Edward (Ruth), Clarence (Sandra), Barry (Sandra), Majella; daughters, Catherine (John- deceased), Margeurite (Ken), Beverly (Calvin), Dolores (Gordon) and Ann (Perry); 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Patricks Roman Catholic Church, Plate Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Father Brian Colbourne, took place on Thursday, March 7, 2013 with interment following. Left with fond and loving memories are his mother Effie, sister Winnie Bailey (Abe) Peterview; brothers; Arthur (Elizabeth) Port Union and Stephen (Marie Cecilia) Fort McMurray, AB; nephew Jeremy and niece Vanessa; great nephews Keegan and Zander and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from the Pentecostal Church, Clarenville with interment at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Milton - George's Brook.

Bonnie Crossley (nee Stuckless - nee Vardy)
Passed on: March 6th, 2013

Passed away on March 6th, 2013 at Parkstone Place. She was the daughter of the late Elva Stuckless. Besides her mother, she is predeceased by her husband Sidney Crossley and her sister Ruth Black. Bonnie is survived by her father Wilson Stuckless of Twillingate, NL. Her son Robin (Sabrina) Vardy of Greenwood and daughter Elizabeth (Joshua) MacDonald of Bedford. Her sisters Joan (Glynn) Foster of Springdale, NL and Carolyn (Jim) Hodder of Topsail, NL and grandchildren Alixandra and Grace Vardy and Jace MacDonald. Sister-in-law Verna Nicholson and several nieces and nephews and extended family. Bonnie loved to read, listen to Newfoundland music and fishing. A private memorial service will take place at Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main St. Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the MS Society of Canada. Passed away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, March 3, 2013, Roy Bennett of Terra Nova, formerly of Brooklyn, aged 72 years. Predeceased by parents Marjorie and John. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Irene; sons Jim (Kathy), Derrick (Olive) and Scott (Cathy); daughter Michelle (Kerry); step-sons Roy (Patricia) and Lloyd (Gillian); step-daughters Shirley (John), Sandra, Irene (Mike) and Susan (Andrew); 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister Bernice (Gerald) and Lilly; brother Maurice (Adela); and a large circle of family and friends. A memorial service was held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge with interment to take place in Terra Nova at a later date.

Left with fond and loving memories his daughters Joan Greening, Port Blandford, Marion McLaughlin (Raymond), Nanaimo, BC and Doris Holloway, Port Blandford; grandchildren Gary, Gena (Tom), Glenda (Vince), Grant (Jennifer) and Gordie (Mimi), Corena (Eric), Colin (Heather), Christopher (Patricia), Pauline, Paul, Pamela and Raymond; a number of great grandchildren; brother Harry Pardy, Port Aux Basque; sisters-in-law Viola Holloway and Grace Pardy; and a large circle of family and friends. Daughters Angela Beason (William) and Jackie Hannlon (Jimmy), both of Oshawa, ON ; sons; Keith (Farrah), Draper (Holly), Jerome (Danielle) all of Bunyan's Cove, grandchildren; Gavin, Sheila, Hannah, Cassandra, Jasmine, Joshua, Jamie and Jody and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Pentecostal Church, Bunyan's Cove. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from the Pentecostal Church, Bunyan's Cove with interment at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Bunyan's Cove. Predeceased by parents, Malcolm and Sarah Jane Lambert; brothers, Wesley and Nelson. Leaving to mourn, wife, Selina (nee Peddle); sisters, Susie Duffett and Geneva Tucker; sisters-in-law, Loretta Lambert and Velma Lambert; brothers-in-law, Russell Peddle (Velma), Reg Peddle (Linda) and Collin Peddle (Karen); nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the Anglican Church of St. Stephen , Hatchet Cove from where the funeral service, oficiated by The Rev. It saddens our family to announce the sudden passing of Melita Jane Carberry aged 84 years of St. John's and Milton at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Saturday March 23, 2013. Predeceased by her husband Austin, son-in-law Lindsay. Left to mourn her passing are her children Hilda Balsom (Robert), Diane, Brenda Reid (Ron). A legacy of love and memories are left to grandchildren; Darlene, Robert (Tina), Brian, Lisa (Darren),James, Andrea (Geoff) & Jillian (Jelly bean) (Stephen); great grandchildren Christopher, Brittney, Bradley, Bailey, & Carter. She will be sadly missed by brother Dan Seaward (Betty). Sister-in-laws; Hilda Carberry & Eliza Seaward. Melita will be greatly missed by a large circle of family and friends and by all who had the privilege to know her. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Clarenville with cremation to follow. Donations in her memory may be made to charity of one's choice.
