Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, May 29, 2016 Lizzie Seward of Clarenville, aged 89 years. Predeceased by her husband Hayward. Left with fond and loving memories are her children; Gloria (Ross), Eric (Pearl), Glenis (Marshall), Lloyd (Juanita), Tina (Terry); 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Clarenville with interment at Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville. In her memory, donations may be made to Village of Hope Malawi, Africa.

Lorne Holloway
Passed on: May 19th, 2016

Passed peacefully away at Dr G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, May 19, 2016, Lorne Holloway of Bloomfield, aged 77 years. Predeceased by parents Frederick and Annie Phyllis; step-brother Eric Keats. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Effie of 55 years; children Phyllis (Wade), Brian (Patsy), Christina (Andy), Garry, and Kimberly (Paul); eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and a large circle of family and friends. Husband, Dad, Poppy - Lorne was a loving, warm, and dedicated family man. His love for his family extended to all people including his church members, his workmates, and the many friendships he made over his 77 years. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral services took place on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from the Salvation Army Islandview Citadel, Musgravetown, with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown. In his memory, donations may be made to the Salvation Army band, Islandview Citadel Corps, Musgravetown.

Passed peacefully away, surrounded by her loving family at Dr. Albert O'Mahony Memorial Manor, Clarenville on Sunday, May 22, 2016, Ethel Barrett of North Harbour, formerly of Woody Island, aged 83 years. Predeceased by husband Stanley; parents Jessie and Joseph Lockyer; sisters Olive Parsons and Ruby Barrett; brother Josiah Lockyer; son-in-law Walter Rodway. Left with fond and loving memories her daughters Daisy, Lillian (Calvin Eddy), Viola (Berkley Slade), Rowena (Alfred Reid), Gloria and Wavey (Craig Brinston); sons Raymond (Dianne), Ronald (Jennifer) and Roger (Cheryl); 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Ella (Clayton Frampton) and Betty (Hedley Brinston); brother Eugene (Daphne); and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at United Church, North Harbour. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at the United Church, North Harbour with interment at United Cemetery, North Harbour. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Daisy Pike of Charleston announces her passing at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista, on May 25, 2016 in her 85th year. Leaving to mourn children Barbara Brinson (Guy) of Main Point, Rhyna Ivany of London, ON, Ken Pike (Marguerite) of Charleston, Daisy Hollohan of Charleston, Lydia Pike of Dryden, ON, Lloyd Pike (Barbara) of Charleston, Alf Pike of Charleston and Cavell McInnis of London, ON; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters Frances Warren, Katie Goodland and Deliah Fry (Phillip) plus a large circle of other family and friends. Predeceased by husband Chesley Pike and partner Ambrose Piercy; brothers Sam, Jack and Lloyd and sister Edith. Funeral Service was officiated by Rev. Pottle from United Church, Portland on Monday, May 30th with interment following at United Church Cemetery, Charleston. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundon's Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour.

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, Lemuel Seward of Gooseberry Cove, aged 73 years. Predeceased by his parents Katherine and Simeon; brother Eldon and nephew Dale. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Martha of 43 years; daughter Tonya (Corey Soper); son Sheldon (Crystal); grandchildren Shelby, Cassie, Dawson, Alexa and Amelia; sisters Marguerite (Bill), Marion (Eli), Daphne (Kevin), Joan (Sterling) and Eleanor (Harry); brothers Ed (Marguerite) and Sterling (Naomi); and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by parents Noah and Phoebe; brother Hughie. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Glynes of 50 years; daughters Carol (Geoff) and Darleen (Darren); grandchildren Jenna (Matthew) and Sheldon (Megan); great grandchildren Caleb and Gwen; sister Pearl Smith (Ben); brothers Don (Ida) and Melvin (Trudy); and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at St. Aidans Anglican Church, Port Blandford. Marie Rosalie (Ryan) Maloney
of Southern Bay, Bonavista Bay passed quietly away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on June 7, 2016. Predeceased by her parents, Bride and Patrick Ryan, siblings Mary, John, Kay, Gertrude and Tone. Leaving to mourn her loss is husband Bill, stepchildren Carmel, Linda, Kevin, Marly, Christopher, Peggy, Betty and their families. She will be forever loved and missed by her nieces and nephews in St. John's, Nova Scotia and Ontario. Marie had a stellar career working at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Mass of Christian Burial took place from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Sweet Bay on June 10th, 2016 at 2:00pm. She was laid to rest in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Summerville. Donations in Marie's name can be made to Holy Family Church of Southern Bay, Bonavista Bay.

Belle (Laurine) Armstrong (nee Seward)
Born: October 17th, 1927
Passed on: May 28th, 2016
In loving memory of Belle (Laurine) Armstrong (nee Seaward) who passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of the late Harry "Buster" Armstrong. Daughter of the late Andrew and Rosanna Seaward. Predeceased by brothers Walter and George Seaward and sisters Alfreda, Joyce and Dalis (Seaward). She is survived by her brother Andrew Jr. Seaward of Clarenville, Newfoundland. Belle will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her close friends the Charest family (Gaston, Jackie, Aedan and Alex), Bert Morin, Claudette Nolan, her bingo buddies Marilyn Deline and Dawn Schwar, Fran Bradburn, Rita with her dogs Topaz and Portia and her blue Jays buddy Julie Thompson. Belle was born in Clarenville, Newfoundland on October 17, 1927. She relocated to Ontario approximately 70 years ago. Belle worked in a battery factory in Toronto before settling in Sudbury with Buster. Belle and Buster enjoyed many years at their cottage on Lovering Lake. She enjoyed outdoor pursuits such as snowmobiling and fishing. Belle was an accomplished knitter and many family and friends were the recipients of her artwork. Belle had a great love for all animals and enjoyed the company of her companions BB and BJ in her later years. We wish to extend a special thank you to the staff of Health Sciences North (4th floor, North Tower) for their compassionate care and Maison Vale Hospice (Visiting Hospice Services). At Belle's request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations in Belle's memory to an animal charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Edna E. Butler (nee Tilley)

Passed peacefully away at G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital Clarenville, June 05, 2016 Edna E. Butler of Shoal Harbour, in her 98th year. Predeceased by her parents William and Minnie Tilley; Husband Leon (Peter) Butler; Brothers Vernon and Halcum Tilley. Leaving to mourn cousins, Arlene Hiscock, St. John's, Diane and Rod Butler, Shoal Harbour, Christopher Butler, Gander, Mike and Jim Butler, Grand Falls-Windsor. Also her adopted family Keith and Louise Pittman, at Shoal Harbour and a large circle of friends. A sincere thank you to the staff of the Clarenville Retirement Centre for their care and kindness over the past two years. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place at Shoal Harbour United Church on Wednesday June 8, 2016 with interment at United Cemetery, Shoal Harbour. Predeceased by his Father Gladstone, Mother Alice, Step Mother Amelia, Brothers Willis and Alfred, Sisters Winnifred, Bertha and Beatrice. Left with many wonderful memories are his Wife of 55 years Dora; Daughter Darlene (Larry Drover); Sons Darrell (Tracey), Stephen (Stephanie), David(Heather) and Trevor (Cynthia); Five Granddaughters who he loved and cherished Samantha (Brian Kane), Cara, Caroline, Lauren and Hannah. Funeral Service took place at Bethel United Church North Harbour on Wednesday June 22 2016 with interment at United Church Cemetery, North Harbour.
