June 4, 2007

STRONG, Beulah M. - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, Beulah M. Strong of Clarenville, aged 75 years. Predeceased by her mother and father Brishel and Gertrude Strong, brother Eddie and sister Sheila Trickett. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her step-mother Blanche (John Preston); sister Mervie Soucey (Jack), Ottawa, ON; brothers Ray (Shirley), Clarenville, Hervine (Patsy), Smith Falls, ON, Derrick (Ella), Clarenville and Lloyd (Linda), Clarenville; caregivers Shirley and Tom Reid, Shoal Harbour and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place at Fewer's Funeral Home on Friday, June 1,2007, with interment at United Church Cemetery, Church Hill. In her memory donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

FROST, Barry MacKinley: Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on May 29, 2007 (Age 51 years). Leaving to mourn his loving wife Kathie, two beautiful children Jennifer and Amanda and their mother Anne. His devoted mother and father, Walter and Rowena Frost of Hillview, his ever-faithful sister Pauline (Gary) and his loyal brother Keith (Lana). Left also to mourn are his nieces and nephews Angela and Adam Park and Mackenzie and Hannah Frost along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His parents-in-law, Gail and Bert Brown and his sister-in-law Sheri (Nathan). His dedicated Ready Cash employees, along with hundreds of business associates across Canada and the US whose lives he touched in so many ways. Also mourning is Margaret Jarvis, whose friendship brought Barry comfort, and his treasured and faithful companion GUS. Waiting for him in heaven, Mom and Dad Adams, Nan and Pop Frost, mother in law Nellie Cornick, cousin Jeffrey Izer, Aunt Mary, uncle Levi, along with special friends Nita and Max Stoyles. In lieu of flowers donations will be gratefully accepted to the Hillview United Church Pastorial Charge Manse Pavement Fund. Visitation for family and friends was held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at the Grace United Church, Hillview (Trinity Bay). The funeral service took place at The Grace United Church, Hillview delivered by Pastor Glenn Jarvis, his minister and friend on May 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.
Our memories of Barry will live on in our hearts forever.


June 11, 2007

BENOIT, Annie - Passed peacefully away at Placentia Hospital on Monday, June 4, 2007, Annie Benoit of Southern Harbour, aged 98 years. Predeceased by husband Ernest. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter Jane Traverse (Martin), Burnaby, BC; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nephew Andy Carroll (Lucy) and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Roman Catholic Church, Southern Harbour. Funeral mass took place on Thursday, June 7, 2007 from Roman Catholic Church, Southern Harbour with interment at Roman Catholic Cemetery, Southern Harbour.

ROWSELL: Passed away suddenly on May 31, 2007 in Duncan, British Columbia, David Lloyd Rowsell, aged 64 years. Predeceased by Father Wesley Rowsell. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories; his wife Carol, two daughters; Lorilee (Eric), Christina (Jared); and four grandchildren Bryonna-Lee, Tia, Tobie and Alexander; his mother Winnifred; four brothers Fred (Gertrude), Barry, Bruce (Linda), Eric (Rachael); two sisters Barbara Holloway (Carl), Doreen Fulford (Keith) and 11 nieces and nephews.

GILES, Amelia Hannah (nee Wareham)
Passed peacefully away at the Pentecostal Senior Citizens Home, Clarke's Beach on Thursday, May 31, 2007, Amelia Hannah Giles, Garden Cove in her 98th year. Predeceased by her husband, James (1978); parents, Chesley and Maria; brothers, Eli and James; sister, Bessie. Left with fond and loving memories, daughter, Irene (Don Watkins), Robert's Arm; sons, Wilfred (Edwina), Garden Cove, Sidney (Lorraine), Garden Cove, Gordon (Ruby), Norman's Cove; 11 grandchildren, 15 great­ grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rested at Memorial United Church, Garden Cove. Funeral service held on Monday, June 4 at 2 p.m. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the Memorial Fund United Church, Garden Cove or to the United Church of Canada Mission and Service Fund. Entered into Eternal Rest.

HAMPTON, Leah J. - Passed away suddenly at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, June 3, 2007, Leah Hampton of Jamestown, aged 87 years. Predeceased by parents Richard and Maria Hancock; brothers Fred, Joseph, Philip, Wallace and brother-in-law George Stevenson. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 61 years Harvey Maxwell; sons Norman (Mary), Portland, Harvey (Elva), Brampton, ON; daughter Ethel, Etobicoke, ON; sisters Marie Stevenson, Jamestown and Violet Hayward (Roy), Bomanville, ON; grandchildren Ricky, Natasha (Garland Greening), Candice, Stephen and Jonathan; great-grandchildren Sebastian, Jeremy, Tyler, Ryan and Cole; sisters-in-law Cavell, Amelia and Selma Hancock, Myrtle Hampton, Hazel Butt, Alice Muggridge and Phyllis Little; brother-in-law Clifford Hampton. She also leaves behind a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place at the Salvation Army Citadel, Lethbridge on June 8, 2007 with interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Jamestown.

FRAMPTON, Hannah - Passed peacefully away at Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on Thursday, June 14,2007, Hannah Frampton of Clarenville, formerly of Flat Island, aged 74 years. Predeceased by mother Blanche Fudge, step-father Job Fudge and sister Jessie Labour. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sisters Angela Taylor (Wayne), Maxine Antle (Jimmy) and Anna Planke, all of Burin; brothers Eugene Fudge (Lesley), Marystown, Lester Fudge (Mary), Burin, Harry Fudge (Verna), Burin, Morris Fudge (Sybil), Burin, Leonard Fudge, Burin and Thomas Fudge (Sheila), Nova Scotia; special friend Lydia Fewer and family along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held Monday, June 18, 2007 from Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery.

RYAN, Mildred - Passed peacefully away at Carbonear Interfaith Seniors Home on Friday, June 15, 2007, Mildred Ryan of Arnold's Cove, aged 82 years. Predeceased by husband Albert, infant son Clarence, sisters Ethel Peach, Dorcas Lockyer and Blanche Picco, brothers Capt. Thomas Slade and Capt. Nath Slade. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Norman (Maxine), Arnold's Cove, Tony (Irene), Arnold's Cove, Tish Trowbridge (Frank), Arnold's Cove, Brian (Valerie), Milton and Eric, Edmonton, AB; sister Ann Williams (Wilson), Arnold's Cove; brother Richard Slade (Effie), Arnold's Cove; sister-in-law Effie Slade, Arnold's Cove; brother-in-law Dave Picco, Scarborough, ON; grandchildren Pierre, Colleen, Darren (Angie), Craig (Natasha) and Bobby (Vicki); great-grandchildren Madison and James; special cousin Myra Hollett, special nephew Ed Lockyer; special niece May Lane; also a large number of rel­ atives and friends. CHATMAN, Malcolm: Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 19, Malcolm Chatman of Charlottetown, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his father, Charles and mother, Jane Chatman; sister, Sophie Greening and grandson, Glenn Chatman. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Jean Oldford of 52 years; children Garry (Elizabeth) at Torbay; Janet (Mike) Jones at Oklahoma; Lorraine (Dean) Chatman at Charlottetown; Roxanne (Dave) Weinheber at Charlottetown; his precious grandchildren Tiffany Butt, Sheena Peddle, David and Max Weinheber; brothers Harold (Marie), Gerald (Eileen), Nelson (Maria); sisters May (Doug) Simmonds, Anita (Harrison) Critch, Grace (Phillip) Phillips, Vera (Wince) Lethbridge, Blanche (Thomas) West. COOPER: Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on June 18, 2007, Shirley Maxine Cooper (Nee: Fowlow), age 75, from Trinity East. Leaving to mourn her husband of 58 years Dan Cooper; daughter Judith (Linda) Cooper; sons Richard (Vivian) and Michael; grandchildren Danielle, Nicholas and Krista Froud, Danny Cooper, Stephanie Ploughman and Jacqueline Diamond; sisters Irene, Janet, Lillian, Elsie, Frances and brother Robert and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Trinity East from where the funeral service, officiated by Reverend Cutler, took place on Thursday, June 21, 2007 with interment following at the Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

PARROTT: It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Samuel Wilmore Parrott, age 82, from Hickman's Harbour (formerly from Gander), at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on June 18, 2007. Predeceased by parents Samuel and Mary; wife, Mary; son, Robert; daughters Daisy and Kay; brothers Hubert, Stephen and William; sisters Elizabeth, Norma and Naomi; step-sister Emma Jane; step-brothers William, Gordon and Walter; daughters-in-law Paula and Mary. Leaving to mourn are his children Calvin (Jean), Melvin (Ann), Wilf (Gertie), David (Theresa), Linda (Neil), Stephen, Gary (Lisa), Gerald (Oleen), Barb (George), Walter (Sylvia), Ann, Heather (Don), Albert (Kim), William (Tammy) and Wayne; 31 grandchildren (two deceased); 16 great-grandchildren; brother Gilbert and sister Frances; sons-in-law Bruce and Mac; special friend, Mary Rodgers and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour and Stacey's Funeral Home, Gander. Samuel was laid to rest at the United Church Cemetery, Gander on Thursday, June 21, 2007.
