GREENING, Adelaide Jane
Passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes, Gander, on Monday, June 5, 2000, Adelaide Jane Greening of Musgravetown, Bonavista Bay, aged 96 years. Predeceased by husband John M. Greening and son Malcolm. Leaving to mourn daughters Olive Matthews (Levi), Sadie Lane (Caleb) and Valda Noftle (Harris); sons Herman (Daphne) and Clarence; daughter-in-law Pearl (Len); grandchildren Dudley Matthews (Ruth), Heather Lethbridge (Bob), Ann Haggerty (Bill), Angela Philpott (David), Kelly Wellon (Bill), Trevor Greening, Michael Greening (Roxanne) and Kirk Greening (Lynn); great grandchildren Tracy and Adam Matthews, Joshua, Amy and Becky Lethbridge and Holly and Sarah Philpott; a large number of nieces, nephews and a large circle of good friends. Rested at fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held on Thursday, June 8, 2000, from St. John the Divine Anglican Church, Canning's Cove. Interment at Anglican Cemetery, Musgravetown.

BROWN, Dorothy
Passed away suddenly at Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Wednesday June 7, 2000, Dorothy Brown of Port Rexton, aged 78 years. Predeceased by grandson Jason, 1996. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Vincent of 59 years; daughter Linda (Fred), St. John's; sons Jim (Effie) and Edmund (Audrey), both of Port Rexton; sisters Elizabeth, New York and Norma, Clarenville; brother Harold (Marjorie), New York; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Port Rexton. Funeral services held on Friday, June 9, 2000, from Christ Church, Port Rexton, with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton.

FITZGERALD, Mary Bertha
Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital Center, June 16, 2000, Mary Bertha Fitzgerald. She was 87 years of age. Predeceased by her husband, Clement Fitzgerald; parents, Victor P. Martin and Hannah Belle (Courage). Left to mourn are brother, Harrison (Emma) Martin; nephew Peter (Mona) Martin; great-nieces, Laurie, Carolyn, Jessica and Christina; niece, Sharon (Bruce Carpenter); great-great-niece, Vicki (Dennis) Russell; great-great nephews, Andrew and Nicholas; great-nephews, Adam and Peter; cousin, Ethel Courage; special friend and caregiver, Daphne (Roy) Burton and her children, Kent and Brett Burton. Father MacCarthy conducted funeral services at the Roman Catholic Church in Bonavista June 19. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bonavista. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Grand Falls-Windsor and Strathie's Funeral Home, Bonavista.

MATTHEWS, Lorne
Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Home June 20, 2000, Lorne Matthews of Musgravetown, in his 87th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Ella (Greening); son Everett (Joan); daughter Bernice (Claude) Bishop; four grandchildren Todd, Tammi, Dwight and Nancy; one brother Cerrick; and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge, Bonavista Bay. Funeral service held Friday, June 23, 2000, from the Musgravetown United Church with Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Musgravetown. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Nfld or the United Church Cemetery Fund.

IVANY, Agnes Joy
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Thursday, June 22, 2000, Agnes Joy Ivany (Maidment) aged 100 years, 6 months. Predeceased by husband Charles, 1957 and son William, 1997. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are two sons Weldon in Gander and Ralph (Evelyn) in Montreal; daughter-in-law Daisy in Clarenville; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held on Saturday, June 24, 2000, fromShoal Harbour United Church. Interment at United Church Cemetery, Shoal Harbour.

WHIFFEN, Hubert
Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John's, on Saturday, June 24, 2000, Hubert Whiffen of Bonavista at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife Audrey, and five children: Joan (Eugene); Sam (Cathy); Glen; Ross; and Sandra. Four grandchildren Craig and Angie Randell, and Daniel and Jeremy Whiffen. One great grandchild Cassidy Mercer. Also a large circle of other relatives, neighbours and friends. Rested at Strathie's Funeral Home in Bonavista. Funeral service was held on Monday, June 26, 2000 at the Salvation Army Church, Bonavista. Interment followed at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Bonavista.

GOLDSWORTHY, Erroll Chesley
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville June 30, 2000, Erroll Chesley Goldsworthy of Champney's West in his 78th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Ada; daughters Florence Norman (Donald), Dorothy (Fred), Francis Hookey (Richard), Nancy Barry (Leonard), Ruth Goldsworthy (Joe); son-in-law Kenneth Rixon; sons Doug (Jessie), Thomas (Susan) and Ernest (Delores); 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren plus a large circle of other family and friends. Rev. Gillam and Rev. Judy Squires conducted the funeral service July 3 at St. Clements Anglican Church, Champney's West with interment following at Anglican Cemetery, Champney's West. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundon's Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour.

OLDFORD, Arthur
(February 9, 1911 - June 29, 2000)

Passed peacefully away at G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville in his 89th year. Predeceased by his wife Rebecca (1984) and son Fenton (1994). Leaving to mourn with loving memories daughter Theresa, son-in-law Jim, daughter-in-law Eileen, three granddaughters, three great grandsons, two sisters Loise Keats (Stewart) and Leonah Burry, and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Pauls United Church, Bunyans Cove. Funeral service held Saturday, July 1, 2000. Interment at United Church Cemetery, Bunyan's Cove. Arrangemants entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home.
