Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, June 25, 2001, Marilyn J. Day, nee King, retired teacher of Clarenville aged 55 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband Bill of 32 years; son Chris, Toronto; brother Lorne King and wife Gladys, Halifax, NS; nephews Jeffery King, Vancouver, BC and David King, Sydney, Australia and a large number of relatives and special friends. Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service held Wednesday, June 27, 2001 from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to Retired Teacher’s Foundation, Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, St. John’s or Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville.

LODGE, Thomas
Passed away suddenly at Bloomfield on June 20, 2001 Thomas Lodge of Bloomfield in his 53rd year. Predeceased by his twin brother Lloyd (1969) and his father Thomas Sr. (1999). Left with fond and loving memories his mother Evelyn; sisters Bernice Wiseman and Barbara Lodge (Clarence), both of Bloomfield; brothers Lyle (Bernadette), Oakville, ON, Hubert (Dildre), Musgravetown and Bill (Daphne), Bloomfield; a number of nephews and nieces and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place Monday June 25, 2001, at the Pentecostal Church in Bunyan’s Cove with interment in the Pentecostal Cemetery, Musgravetown.

GREEN, Marguerite
Passed away suddenly, after a brief illness at the Health Science Center, St. John’s on June 29, 2001, Marguerite Green at the age of 72 years. Predeceased by her parents Maggie and Newman Green and brother Max. Left with fond and loving memories are her brother Wilfred (Florence), sister Blanche, sister-in-law Murial Green, all of Deep Bight, four nieces, one nephew, and a number of relatives and friends. Rested at Trinity United Church, Deep Bight. Funeral service held on Sunday July 01, 2001 at the Trinity United Church in Deep Bight. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Deep Bight. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville.

ROBBINS, Irene
Passed peacefully away at St. Clares Mercy Hospital, St. John’s on Wednesday July 11, 2001, Annie Irene Robbins who resided at The Pentecostal Seniors Home, Clarkes Beach, formerly of Hatchet Cove, aged 86 years. Predeceased by her husband Eli John. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons Gordon (Marjorie), Hatchet Cove and Ted (Kay), Vancouver BC, daughter Ella Martin (Don), Toronto, ON; stepdaughter Belinda Lambert, St. Jones Within; sister Mary Cramm (Lloyd), Alliston, ON, sixteen grand-children, twenty great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at United Church, Hatchet Cove. Funeral service took place on Saturday July 14, 2001 from United Church, Hatchet Cove. Interment followed at United Church Cemetery, Hatchet Cove.

IVANY, Gregory T.
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Hospital, Clarenville on Friday July 13, 2001, Gregory T. Ivany of George’s Brook, age 61 years. Predeceased by his father William Ivany, brother Michael Smith, granddaughter Jasmine and brother-in-law Edwin Smith. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Ruby Stanley of 31 years; mother Margaret Smith, Clarenville; son Dale Ivany, George’s Brook; sisters Mary Smith, Gooseberry Cove, Cecilia Smith, Clarenville and Pauline Hynes (Barry), Clarenville; sister-in-law Tina Smith; brother Lewis Seward (Janet), Ottawa, ON; one grandchild Bradley and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Sunday July 15, 2001 from Pentecostal Church, George’s Brook with interment at Milton-George’s Brook Interfaith Cemetery.

BALSOM, Melvin
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday July 15 2001 Melvin Balsom of Clarenville aged 73 years. Predeceased by his daughter Beverly. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Evelyn of 50 years; son Glenn (Donna), Clarenville; daughter Pauline Strong, Clarenville; sisters Ruby Pitcher, Port Hawkesbury, NS, Donna (Alexander Wells), Cormack, Hilda (William Blanchard), St. George’s and Hazel (Arch Bursey), Gambo; three grandchildren, Amanda, Waterloo, ON, Michael, Fredericton, NB and Kristen, Clarenville and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, July 18, 2001 from Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville. Donations in his memory may be made to Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville.

Passed away suddenly at Health Science Complex, St. John’s on Sunday July 22, 2001 Frank Holloway of Labrador City, aged 68 years. Predeceased by parents Robert and Martha Holloway, Port Blanford, son Bobby and sister Lucy. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are wife Greta of 47 years; sons Randy (Louise), BC, Edgar (Beverly), Embree and Brian (Pam), Labrador City; sisters Mary (Fred Higgins), Port Blanford, Jane (Carl Hunt), Clarenville, Rose (Dothen Martin), Buchans and Sue (Cluny Spurrell), Conception Bay South; eight grandchildren and a circle of relatives and friends. Rested at St. Aiden’s Anglican Church, Port Blanford. Funeral service took place on Wednesday July 25, 2001 from St. Aiden’s Anglican Church, Port Blanford. In his memory donations may be made to St. Aiden’s Anglican Church, Port Blanford.
