Belinda Lambert (nee Robbins)

Passed suddenly away on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, Belinda Lambert of Hatchet Cove, aged 80 years. Predeceased by her parents Eli John & Fanny Robbins, step mother Irene Robbins; husband Harrison Lambert; infant daughter Fanny; brother Gordon; sister in law Marjorie; longtime companion Edgar Holloway. Left with fond and loving memories her sons; Calvin (Valerie), Don (Velma), Michael, daughters; Ella (Gary), Darlene (Robert), Patricia, Velma (Chris), Cindy (Craig); grandchildren Christopher (Stephanie), Jeremy, Amelia, William, Adrienne (Jasna), Garrett, Ryan, Megan (Dylan), Alexander (Chelsea), Harrison (Claire), Taylor, great grandchildren; Sommer, Arianna, Madison, Jaspar, Chelsea; sister Ella Martin (Don); brother Ted Robbins (Kay) and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Hatchet Cove. Funeral service took place on Sunday, July 3, 2016 from St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Hatchet Cove with interment at the Anglican Cemetery Hatchet Cove. Donations in her memory may be made to the Anglican Cemetery Fund Hatchet Cove.

Melvin Lockyer
Passed on: June 27th, 2016

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, June 27, 2016, Melvin Lockyer of Arnolds Cove, aged 71 years. Predeceased by parents John and Emma Mae; brothers Cyril, Cleverley and Howard. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Daphne of 43 years; children Cynthia (Edgar), Karen (Kurt), Tina (George), Ward (Dianne) and Holly (Derek); grandchildren Gary, Ashley, Stephen, Noelle, Jeremy, Austin, Sydney, Robin and Melissa; great grandchildren Dawson, Savanna, Mason, Syke, Zoey and Mya; sisters Maude (Roland) and Judy (Melvin); brothers Alex and Ernest (Sheila); and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnolds Cove. Funeral service took place on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnolds Cove. In his memory donations may be made to Clarenville Area SPCA.

Reginald Roach

Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, Reginald George Roach of Port Blandford, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his parents Harold & Beatrice Roach; brother Otto Oldford. Left with fond & loving memories his wife Minnie of 59 years of marriage; Daughters Ada (Kevin), Sandra (Wilbur), Sherry (Raymond) & Son Terry (Lena); Eight grandchildren Trina, Janet, Shelley, Mitchell, Jessica, Heather, Ashley & Amber; eight great-grandchildren Megan, Gavin, Luke, Hayley, Ethan, Peyton, Liam & Colton; Sisters Lossie, Rose, Joyce, Shirley & Beverley; and a large circle of family & friends. His wish to be cremated was fulfilled. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, June 26, 2016.

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, Ralph Ellis of George's Brook, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his wife Olive, brothers Malcolm and Bill. Left with fond and loving memories his children Ron (Beverley), Eugene (Sylvia), Darrell (Darlene), Rod (Krista), Brian (Cindy), Jackie (Terry) and Jamie (Kelly); 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister Effie; brothers Edward, Reginald (Mary), Watson (Marie), Manuel (Nellie) and Walter (Mary); and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service took place on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville with interment at Milton-George's Brook Cemetery. In his memory donations may be made to Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, St. John's.

Everett "Milton" Avery
Passed on: July 3rd, 2016

On July 3, 2016, Everett "Milton" Avery of Edmonton, formerly of Deep Bight, NL passed away lovingly surrounded by his family and friends. Milton is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vickie; children, Michelle, Scott (Jackie), David (Kritta), Lisa and Gerry (Melissa); grandchildren, Parker, Taylor, Rachelle (Ben), Chantel, Brady, Brittany, Ryan, Shauni, Skylor, Sheldon, Nathan, Nicholas and Karlee, great-grandchildren, Keyona, Kynan, and Jack-Everett; siblings, Lindo (Lorraine), Winston and Vera (Gerald); and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Violet; and nephew, Jody. A Celebration of Milton's life took place Wednesday, July 6 at 3:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel with Pastor Greg Fraser officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Deep Bight, NL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Passed away after a very courageous battle with cancer at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, July 18, 2016, Kevin Bailey of Harcourt, aged 53 years. Predeceased by grandparents Bert and Ethel Ings and grandfather David Bailey Sr. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Bernice of 28 years; daughter Natasha; parents Netta and David Bailey; grandmother Bessie Bailey; sisters Jo-anne (Steve Sutherland), Nova Scotia and Tammy (Jeff Strong), Harcourt; niece Robyn Sutherland and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at the United Church, Harcourt. Funeral service took place on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the United Church, Harcourt with interment at United Cemetery, Harcourt.

Blanche (Barfett) (Morris) Mercer

Passed peacefully away at the Interfaith Seniors Home in Carbonear on Sunday, July 17, 2016, Blanche (Barfett) (Morris) Mercer of Clarenville, aged 96 years, 9 months. Predeceased by her parents Ann and Stephen Barfett; 1st husband Jack Morris, 2nd husband Chesley Mercer; step-son Allister Mercer; brothers Edgar (Susie) Barfett and George Barfett; stepdaughter-in-law Marion Morris; nephew Ellisson Barfett; niece Dallas Barfett and foster brother (cousin) Tom Benson. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her step-son Bruce Morris; step-daughter Lorraine Stanley (Mervin); stepdaughter-in-law Vera Mercer; sisters-in-law Alice Barfett and Violet Benson; nieces Marie (Cyril) Whalen, Blanche (Armine) Stringer, Daphne Barfett-Pitts (Heber – deceased) and Ann Barfett; nephews Clyde Barfett (Bev) and Wesley (Ivy); step grandchildren Jackie, Sherryl, Michelle, Joelle and Jillian; 5 step great grandchildren; special cousin Marjorie Frampton; a large number of great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews; great great great nieces and nephews; and a large circle of cousins and other relatives and many friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Clarenville with interment at Clarenville Interdenominational Cemetery.

Edward Patrick Hearn
Passed on: July 16th, 2016

Gone to be with the Lord that he so faithfully served, from the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on July 16th 2016, Edward Patrick Hearn of Charleston, Bonavista Bay, in his 65th year. Ed was born in St. John's and was raised in Mall Bay, St. Mary's Bay. Ed married Rita Dooley of Sweet Bay, Bonavista Bay on February 24th1973. Ed and Rita had one son, Scott, of Sherwood Park Alberta, and three daughters. Jeanine (Scott Blundon ) of Gander, Vanessa of Sherwood Park, Alberta and Jennifer of Gander. Ed leaves behind granddaughters Haley Hearn, Devon, Alberta, and Cassie Hearn, Sherwood Park, Alberta. Along with Faith Blundon, Anna Blundon and Grace Hearn all of Gander. Along with one grandson, Aiden Blundon also of Gander. Ed leaves behind brothers Patrick (Carmel) Hearn along with, Joseph (Stella) Hearn of Mall Bay, and Larry (Marion) Hearn of Grande Prairie, Alberta. Ed leaves behind two sisters, Lucy (Pat) Flemming, and Joanne Hearn of St. John's. Ed was a very well respected member of his community and his church, Emmanual Pentecostal Church of Georges Brook. Ed leaves a wide circle of family and friends, far too many to list. Ed was predeceased by his father Joseph and mother Lucina Hearn of Mall Bay, along with father and mother in law John and Loretta Dooley of Sweet Bay. Funeral service was officiated by Pastor A. Stanley from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church on Thursday July 21st 2016 with interment following at Milton /George's Brook Interdenominational Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundon's Funeral Home, Shoal Harbor.
