During his life Hugh was a long term employee of Canadian Pacific Railway Toronto Yards St Clair and Agincourt. His personal interests included baseball, hockey and curling. Hugh was an active card player, both games of chance and recreational cards where he was a friendly competitor. Late in life along with his beloved Margarete he became a world traveler and it may require a bit of imagination to envision his traveling across Europe and falling in love with Austria.
