BURT, Eugene, H.A. — It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a dear husband and father, Eugene Burt, age 63, of Labrador City on Wednesday June 25, 2008 at the Health Sciences Complex, St John's. Predeceased by his parents, William and Cecilia Burt, infant sister, Bernice and father-in-law, Garfield Boutcher. Leaving to mourn his loving wife, Doreen, sons, William and Peter, brother, Howard (Joan), mother-in-law, Mable Boutcher, aunt, Edith Bray, special aunt, Marge, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at Central United Church, Elliott's Cove, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Vera Abbott, assisted by Pastor Carl Earle, took place on Saturday June 28th, 2008 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Hilda Morris (nee Ivany)
passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on July 1, 2008 at the age of 65 years. She was originally from Lady Cove, Random Island, Newfoundland. Hilda will be sadly missed by her loving husband, Aaron Morris; her children, Roger (Hazel), Rhonda (friend, Shaun) and Randy (Deanne), and grandchildren, Samantha, Gregory and Daniel. She is also survived by one brother, Oliver (Jeari); one sister, Iris (Allan Baker); one sister-in-law, Lizzie Ivany; two stepbrothers, Wilfred (Ada) and Lewis (Donna); three stepsisters, Irene Dalton (Jim deceased), Muriel Bowring (Stuart deceased), Eleanor Stone (Edward deceased), and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Hilda was predeceased by her parents, Archibald and Maude Ivany; step-parents, Martin and Lucy Ivany; one brother, Theodore (Ted) and one stepbrother, Harold. A Funeral Service will be held at the Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 Street) on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Hilda Morris can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1X2) or the charity of your choice. FRY, Edith - Passed peacefully away at the Lion's Manor in Placentia on Saturday, July 5th , 2008 Edith Fry of Charleston aged 81 years. Predeceased by her husband, Frank. Left with fond and loving memories her children, Dulcie Reynolds (James) of Texas, Joan Fry (David) of Charleston, Mary Maloney (Edward) of Sweet Bay, Donna Butler (Claude) of Foxtrap, Louise Newell (Felix) of Charleston, James (Daphne) of Labrador City, Albert (Illeen) of Alberta, Eric (Vera) of Bloomfield, Elvis (Melvina) of Sunnyside, sisters, Kate Goodland (Norman) of Charleston, Daisy Pike of Charleston, Frances Warren of Chapel Arm, Deliliah Fry (Phillip) of Labrador City, and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, friends and a very special friend Sheila Keats. Remains rested at St. Thomas's Anglican Church in Charleston. Funeral took place on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at St. Thomas's Anglican Church in Charleston with interment at Anglican Cemetery in Charleston.

OXFORD, Lillian - Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on Saturday, July 5, 2008, Lillian Oxford of Lethbridge, aged 96 years. Predeceased by first husband, Reuben Holloway, second husband Aquilla Brown; sisters, Rhoda Cross and Sadie Mesh; brother, Jimmie and grandson, Sherman. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Roy Oxford of 13 years; daughters, Jean Norris, Clarenville and Annie Drodge (George), Little Hearts Ease; sons, Stephen Holloway, (Isabell) and Hedley Holloway (Emma), both of Lethbridge; grandchildren Tony Holloway (Wanda), Daniel Barrett (Judy), Jamie Holloway (Krista) Christopher Holloway, Amanda Tompkins (Lome), Boyd Wells (Darlene), Robert Wells, Cavelle Cuff (Gary), Roxanne Hiscock (Max), Stephen Drodge (Paula), Bonnie Hobbs (Sheldon), David Drodge (Tracey), Jamie Drodge (Juanita) and Michael Drodge; great-grandchildren, Maxine, Michelle, Donnie, Calvin, Cassandra, Kelsey, Whitney Jorden, Matthew, Natasha, Brittany, Griffen, Kobe, Bailee, Bianca, Riley and Star and a large number of relatives and friends. STANLEY, VIOLET (DUFFITT) - Passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. A memorial service was held in May in Florida and now she will be brought home and placed for eternal rest. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Fewer's Funeral Home in Clarenville on Friday, July 25th from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Final interment will be at the Old United Church Cemetery where she will join those who preceded her in death, her beloved husband Eddie and their daughters Marilyn and Denise.

BRUCKMUELLER - It is with great sadness John Bruckmueller from Weybridge announces the passing of a dear wife of 50 years, Rose Gertrude (Gertie), age 90 at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on July 13, 2008. Predeceased by her parents, Mary and Edward King, brothers, Reuben and Jack, sisters, Jean, Beatrice and Susan. Leaving to mourn her loving husband, John and brother Baxter King. Rested at the Central United Church from where the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Glenn Jarvis, took place on July 15, 2008 with interment following at the United Church Cemetery, Weybridge. IVANY, Susan Linda — It is with great sadness that the family of Susan Ivany announce her sudden and tragic death in a motorcycle accident in Gander on Tuesday, July 15, at age 47. Predeceased by her parents, Violet and Wallace Ivany; baby brother; father-in-law, Martin (Max) Edwards. Left devastated and with a broken heart, her husband, Paul Edwards, Gander. Also left to mourn, daughter, Sara (Mike) Brownhill, Cyprus; son, Nicholas Gallant, Edmonton; step son, Scott Edwards, St. John's; sisters, Carol (Austin) Adams, Shoal Harbour, Marlie Ivany (Craig Dunn), Gander; mother-in-law, Betty Edwards, Gander; sister-in-law, Jean Edwards Stacey (Peter), St. John's; brothers-in-law, Peter Edwards, Vancouver and Kenny (Jung Ae) Edwards, Pusan, Korea. STRINGER - Dorothy (Smith, Martin) - Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 16, 2008, Dorothy Stringer of Milton, aged 95 years. Predeceased by first husband Newman Martin 1949, second husband, Walter Stringer 1996; brother, Fred Smith; stepdaughter, Nellie Vardy and stepson, Hayward Martin. Leaving to mourn loving daughter, Edna Parsons (Sam); cherished son, Lloyd Martin (Vinie); four grandchildren, Scott Crocker (Iris), Sheila Thornhill (Bob), Kerry Martin (Paula) and Gale Martin (Steve); six great-grandchildren; sisters, Susie Avery, Bessie Avery and Edna Spurrell; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family, Alice Wade (Whalen) of Caplin Cove, Trinity Bay. Predeceased by parents, Elizabeth (Smith) and Edward Thomas Whalen (Lillian); husband, James Joseph Wade of Conception Harbour; brothers, Kitchener (Ida), Nathaniel (Lillian), Edgar and Harold; sister, Beatrice King. Leaving to mourn, her devoted daughter, Elizabeth Russell (William) and son, James Wade (Margaret); grandchildren, Boyd Tremblett (Sarah), Bryan Russell (Catherine), Peter Russell (Crystal), Tracy Wade (Zelda), Pamela Collins (Scott), Kelly Wade (Connie); great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brittany, Rebecca, Alannah, Billy Joe, Stewart, Sam and Nick. Predeceased by parents, Eliab and Hilda Blundon; brothers, Ron and Jack; sisters, Clarice and Gladys. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are her husband, Freeman; sons, Eliab (Doris), Terrance (Diane), Paul (Brigitte); daughter, Beverley (Mark) Cook; grandchildren, Steven (Kandis), Matthew, Jenelle, David, Amanda, Jeremy, Mason and Dylan; brother, George and sisters, Mary, Hilda and Laveenie; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Rested at the Anglican Church, Hatchet Cove from where the funeral service officiated by Pastor Glenn Jarvis, assisted by Rev. Predeceased by husband George, son Gerald, sisters Belinda Greening, Evelyn Greening, Agnus Wiseman. Left with fond and loving memories daughter Donna Penney (Lawrence), sisters; Myra Oldford, Pearl Hickman, (Lloyd), sisters in law; Mae Penney (Gordon), Eva Penney, a number of nieces and nephews, four special people; Doreen, Annette, Lisa, April and many relatives and friends. Rested at St. John Divine Anglican Church in Canning's Cove. Funeral service was held on July 25, 2008 at 2 PM from St. John Divine Anglican Church, Canning's Cove with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Canning's Cove. BAILEY, ETHEL - Passed peacefully away at Bonavista Hospital on Sunday July 13, 2008, Ethel Bailey of Port Rexton, age 82 years; was predeceased by her husband, Whitfield Bailey and daughter, Catherine. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children, Princeline Murphy, Port Rexton; Jim Bailey, Port Rexton; Ben (Joanne) Bailey, Nobleton, Ont.; Gloria (Ambrose) Crocker, Port Rexton; Phyllis (Harrison) Jerrett, Calgary, Alta.; and Irene Bailey, Catalina; thirteen grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Gertie Hart, Springvale, ME, Mary (Harold) Hancock, Forteau and Louise Miller, New Bonaventure and many other relatives and friends. Predeceased by four brothers; one sister. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife, Ann of 61 years; daughters, Verna, (Dennis), Denna, (Otto), Diane, (Bill), Rhonda, (John), Tanya, (Rodney); sons, Bruce, (Kay), Scott, (Carol), Ralph, (Thelma), Myles, (Ivy); sisters, Ethel Lockyer, Marie Allen, (Harvey); sister-in-law, Effie Slade; brother-in-law, Richard Slade; 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Funeral service was held on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from the First United Church in Arnold's Cove with interment at the Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove.

GREGORY- Passed peacefully away on Sunday July, 20, 2008, Margaret Jane Gregory (nee Goobie), aged 87 years. Predeceased by her husband Jonathan; brothers, Joshua, Joseph and William; sister, Annie. Leaving to mourn her son, Melvin (Cynthia); granddaughter, Robyn (Bill); great-granddaughter, Madison; brothers; Rex (Mary), Arthur (Lena); sisters,Violet Pike, Agnes Green; sister-in-law, Annie Goobie; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Queen's Cove United Church from where the funeral service officiated by Pastor Glenn Jarvis, took place on Thursday, July 24th with interment following.
