HUMBY, Scott - Passed suddenly away at the Waterford Hospital, St. John's, on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, Scott Humby, aged 37 years, of Summerville. Left with fond and loving memories parents, Harold and Alice Humby of Summerville; brothers, Roger (Maureen) at Whitecourt, AB, Cory (Tara) at CBS and Albert (Pamela) at Summerville; nephews, Aaron and Noah; along with other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Summerville. Funeral service held on Saturday, July 1, 2006, from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Summerville, with cremation to follow.

 

BRENNAN, Lorraine Annie (January 3, 1937 - June 21, 2006) - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on June 21,2006, Lorraine Brennan of Summerville in her 69th year. Predeceased by husband, Gus, and son, Kevin. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons, Roger (Tracey) of Southern Bay and Angus (Darlene) of Summerville; daughters, Sharon (John) of Sweet Bay, Brenda (Tommy) of Summerville, Beverly (Roger) of Southern Bay, Roxanne (Michael) of Summerville, Christine (David) of Plate Cove West and Mary (Morgan) of Summerville; thir­teen grandchildren; plus a large circle of family and friends. Funeral mass was officiated by Father W. Hearn from St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Summerville. Cremation to follow. Pallbearers were sons-in-law, John, Tommy, Roger, Michael, David and Morgan. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundon's Funeral Home,

DROVER, Elizabeth (Betty) - Passed peacefully away on July 2, 2006, age 75 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Drover. Predeceased by husband, Malcolm. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughter, Susan (Eugene); son, Robert (Stephanie); grandchildren, Carla, Pamela, Jonathan, Adam, Shaun and Matthew; two sisters, Roberta Phillips and Marilyn Bartlett; and a large circle of other family members and friends. Rested at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday, July 4, 2006, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at 2 p.m., from Barrett's Chapel. Interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society. Please visit www.barretts.ca to sign the online memorial guest book.     

 

HOGAN, Thomas G. - Died June 22, 2006, Thomas G. Hogan, age 70 years, born in St. Brendan's, NL. He was the son of Thomas Hogan and Evelyn White. He then moved to Catalina. He worked with construction all his life. Predeceased by his brothers, William and John Hogan; and sister, Josephine Target. Surviving are his wife, Bernadette Hogan (Sutton); sons, Patrick Hogan (Kim) at Port Union, John Hogan (Roxanne) at St. John's and Gregory Hogan (Sherry) at Catalina; daughters, Theresa Hogan, Sharon Hiscock (Michael) at Port Rexton, Ellen Porter at Port McNeil, BC, and Paula Scobey (Stephen) at Liverpool, NS; grandsons, Jeffery Hogan at Bonavista, Nicolas and Justin at Liverpool, NS, Carson and Conrad Porter at Port McNeil, BC; granddaughters, Holly Hogan at Port Union, Krystal Hiscock at Port Rexton and Samantha Scobey at Liverpool, NS; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Goodland; one sister, Rita Kedell at Ship Cove; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hogan at Port Union and Helen Hogan at Gander; and many nieces and nephews.

CARPENTER, Nellie - Passed peacefully away at the Central Newfoundland Health Centre in Grand Falls on Friday, July 7, 2006, Nellie Carpenter of Port Blandford, aged 78 years. Predeceased by husband, George; son, Charlie; and companion, Jackson Greening. Left with fond and loving memories are daughters, Linda Ralph (Edgar) and Joan Noseworthy (Jeff); son, Reginald (Donna); sisters, Vera and Evelyn; brothers, Marmaduke and Hughie; daugh­ter-in-law, Sylvia; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchil­dren; and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains rested at United Church in Port Blandford. Funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 10, 2006, at the United Churchin Port Blandford with interment at United Church Cemetery in Port Blandford. In lieu of flowers, donations accepted to United Cemetery Fund, Port Blandford.

 

CORRIGAN, Austin (World War II Veteran) - Passed suddenly away in the presence of his family at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Sunday, July 9, 2006, Austin Corrigan of Clarenville, aged 87 >years. Predeceased by his sister, Madalene. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife, Evelyn, of 60 years; sister, Loretta of Alberta; brothers, Bert of St. John's and Ben of Trepassey; and a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Remains rested at Fewer's Funeral Home in Clarenville. Funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at the St. Mary's Anglican Church with interment at the Interdenominational Cemetery in Clarenville. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville.

 

COOPER: Passed peacefully away at the Bonavista Health Care Centre, Bonavista, Pearl May Cooper, age 75, on July 7, font-size: 12.0pt;>2006. Leaving to mourn, husband, Gerald; daughter, Daphne (Garland) Bailey; son, Donald (Pauline) Cooper; six grandchil­dren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Greta (Oscar) Fowlow; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at the St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Trinity East, where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. R. Peddle, took place on Monday, July 10, 2006, with interment following at the Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

MALONEY, Glenn F. - It is with saddened hearts that >the family of Glenn F. Maloney of Sweet Bay announce his tragic passing at sea on Saturday, July 8, 2006. Predeceased by his father, John F. Maloney. Left to mourn are his mother, Margaret, and step-father, Dale Hillier, of Calgary, AB; as well as his cherished daugh­ter, Chantel, and his fiancee, Debbie; sisters, Jackie (Tilson), Karen (Patrick), Donna (David), Debbie (Stan) >and Lisa (Peter); nieces, Terri-Lyn, Robyn, Samantha, Jessica, Alexis and Brittany; nephews, Joseph and Nolan. Afso left with fond memories are his uncles, aunts, cousins and a large circle of friends. Rested at the RC Church in Sweet Bay from where the funeral service tool place on Thursday, July 13, 2006. Interment followed at the RC Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving mem­ ories his wife and best friend Yvonne of 38 years; daughter, Florence (Mike), St John's; son, Leroy (Helen), Ottawa, ON; sisters, Melvina Bailey (Albert) of Harcourt, Evelyn Carberry (Harold), Burgoynes Cove, Winnie Goodyear (Cyril), Fort McMurray, AB and Donna Watton (Bill), Whitby, ON; brothers, Robert, Coboconk, ON, John (Valerie), Saskatchewan, Hubert (Norma),. Brampton, ON, Earl (Sandra), Burgoyne's Cove, Ralph (Sherri), Faro, YT and Ray (Gladys), Fort McMurray, AB; two wonderful grandchildren, Jessica and Gavin; mother-in-law, Ethel Coish, Orangeville, ON; brother-in-law, Clarence George, Burgoyne's Cove and a large number of relatives and friends. PEDDLE, Belle - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Saturday, July 15, 2006. Belle Peddle of Clarenville, aged 79 years. Predeceased by husband, Stewart; brothers, Harry, Ralph and Eugene; and sisters, Daisy and Athena. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters, Maureen (Warrick Spurrell), Karen (Levi Avery) and Faye (Wallace Wellman); sons, David Stone (Linda), Rick .25pt'>Peddle (Norma) and Gene Peddle; sister, Peg Ploughman; brother, Doyle Stone (Emily); grandchildren, Geoff (Mario), Greg, Tammy (Morgan), Trevor, Nola (Scott), Duane (Vanessa), Lee (April), Ricky and Devin; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brandon, Justin, Abigail, and Kalem, special nieces, Bernice Pelley and Shirley Maier as well as numerous other nieces and nephews;, close friends Vi and Audrey and a circle of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by two brothers, Rex and Tolson; and his parents, Pearl and Eli Sr. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Ruth of 35 years; daughter, Lori (Shawn) at Harcourt; sister, >Sophie (Lindberg) at Sault Ste Marie, ON, and Mary (Jess) at Lacombe, AB; brothers, Eli (Belinda) at Brooklyn, Garry (Minnie) at Brooklyn and Dwight (Linda) at Canning's Cove; grandchildren, Cody and Mackenzie; sisters-in-law, Mary at Aurora, ON, and Margaret at Lacombe, AB; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held Sunday, July 23, 2006, from Anglican Church, Brooklyn, with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Brooklyn.
