Goobie: We regret to announce the passing of James Charles Goobie, age 77, from Queen's Cove, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on June 28, 2005. Predeceased by parents, John and Janie and nephew, Michael. He will be sadly missed by sister, Mildred (Albert) Howse and nephews, Winston (Renee) Howse, Max (Louise) Howse and Paul (Dianne) Howse, and families. Rested at the United Church, Queen's Cove, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. G. Jarvis, took place on Friday, July 1, 2005, with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island. FAMILY CARING FOR FAMILY

Lambert: Age 43 years, Dennis Lambert, passed away suddenly at his residence in Ontario, on June 21, 2005. Predeceased by parents, Sandy and Melvie, and sister, Marina. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sisters Christine (Harvey) and family, Daphne (Howard) and family, Kathleen (Leo) and family, Kelly and family, Tina (Danny) and family, Trudy and family and Michelle and family; brother, Harold and family; and other relatives and friends. Rested at the St. Alban's Church, Gooseberry Cove, from where the funeral service, officiated by the Rev'd Nelson R. J. Benson: It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alexander George Benson, age 57, from Little Hearts Ease, announce his passing in the presence of his family at the Health Science Complex, St. John's, on June 26, 2005. Predeceased by his parents, David and Annie Benson. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of nearly 34 years, Wendy; daughter Andrea (Linda); son, David (Sabrina); brothers, Ray (Viola) and Ken (Ann); sister, Susan (Bruce); and other relatives and friends. Rested at the Anglican Church, Hodge's Cove, from where the funeral service, officiated by Father E. Hart, Albert Earl - Passed away suddenly on July 1, 2005, Albert Hart, aged 83 years. Predeceased by his son Lorne. Left to mourn with treasured memories are his loving wife Janet (Nippard); three daughters Geraldine Turner (Fred), Daphne Murphy (Ronald) and Barbara (Brien); two sisters Effie Dowding and Annie Goldsworthy; six granddaughters Alison, Lorna, Lori, Lisa, Tina and Tanya; two grandsons Tim and David; two grandchildren Jared and Kristen; as well as other friends and relatives. A special thank you to his helpful neighbours over the years. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Port Rexton, on July 4. Funeral service took place on July 5 from the Anglican Church, Champney's East. DICK, Francis William
Sept 21, 1919 - July 2, 2005

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his wife of 59½ years, Ruby; children Judy Byrne (Bob) at Abbotsford, Joan Davison (Russ) at Seba Beach, AB, and Dr. William Dick (Sandra) at Vancouver; grandchildren Cathie Ansell, Elizabeth Lo, Jane Schneider, Joe Davison, Jamie Davison and Adam Dick. He will also be missed by his five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends. He was predeceased by three sisters and an infant son Joseph. Frank was born in St. John's, NL. and lived in Clarenville, NL. until 1972 when he moved to Prince George, BC. A lifelong railroader, he worked with Reid Newfoundland Railway, CN Rail and BC Rail. From 1940 - 1945, he served during the Second World War as a Bombardier with the 57th and 59th Royal Newfoundland Heavy Artillery Regiments. He was past President of the Royal Canadian Legion (Clarenville Branch) and a past Noble Grand with the International Order of Oddfellows. He also served in 1956 as a Councillor with the Town of Clarenville. A family service was held at Aldergrove, BC. Frank's cremated remains will be interred in the Dick family plot in Clarenville, NL, in conjunction with a Memorial Service at a later date. Fowlow - Passed away peacefully at the Bonavista Hospital on Saturday, July 2, 2005, Norman Fowlow of Trinity East, aged 70 years. Predeceased by his wife Hilda. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters Doreen and Cindy, both at Trinity East; sons Hedley and Robert Jr., both at Trinity East; sisters Irene Hogarth at Trinity East, Frances Fowlow at Trinity East, Shirley Cooper (Dan) at Clarenville, Lil Loder (Hedley) at Hillview, Elsie Monks at King's Cove and Janet Staggs (James) at Mugford, TN, USA; brother Robert at Trinity East; granddaughter Heather; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Anglican Church, Trinity East. Funeral service took place on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, from Anglican Church, Trinity East, with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Trinity East.

Stringer - Passed away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Wednesday, July 6, 2005, Eric Stringer of Caplin Cove, aged 88 years. Predeceased by his first wife Marcie (Martin) and second wife Muriel (Drodge). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his special companion Meleta Carberry; children armine (Blanche) at Caplin Cove, Alice Vey (Eldon) at Stephenville, Ralph (Judy) at Bridgewater, NS, Randy (Jennifer) at Kitchener, ON, John (Marieke) at Kelowna, BC, and Earl (Sylvia) at Robinsons; and a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Greening, Cyril - Passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, Cyril Greening of Port Blandford, aged 63 years. Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ella Greening. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Viola of 41 years; daughter Paula Hann (Randy) at Fort McMurray, AB; sons Darren (Darlene) at Port Blandford and Shawn at Fort McMurray, AB; sisters Lily Hann (Arthur) at Port Blandford and Edna Greening (Murley) at Cartyville; brother Randolph (Doreen) at Lethbridge, AB; grandchildren Sheldon, Shelly and Trey; and a large circle of family and friends. Strong, Karen Ruby - Passed away at her home in Clarenville on June 29, 2005, Karen Ruby Strong, aged 56 years. Predeceased by her mother Ida Princie Stanley. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Austin of 37 years; father Wilson Stanley at Clarenville; daughters Nancy (Todd Noseworthy) at Fort Simpson, NT, and Heather (Dwayne Dawe) at Deep Bight; son Stephen (Stephanie) at St. John's; sisters Marie (Carl Butler) at Grand Falls-Windsor, Lily (Donald Sparkes) at Kitchener, ON, and Daphne Loveys (David Baird) at Clarenville; brothers Donald (Norma) at Clarenville, Rudy (Diane) at Clarenville, Tim (Cindy) at Grand Prairie, AB, and Robert (Jean) at Clarenville; three grandchildren Nicholas, Jenna and soon to be born, Jacob; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Snook - Passed away suddenly but peacefully at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Tuesday July 5, 2005, Ben Snook of Clarenville, formerly of Sunnyside, aged 57 years. Predeceased by his wife, Ruby, brother-in-law Raymond Brinston, brother Jim Snook and parents Steven and Agnus Snook. Ivany: It is with great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of James Ivany, age 78, from Weybridge, Random Island, at his residence on July 12, 2005. Predeceased by parents George and Gertie Ivany. Leaving to mourn with many precious memories are his loving wife Susan; children Louise (Dave Stanley), Cindy (George Whalen), Charlene (Trevor Hollett) and Linfield (Kristy); seven grandchildren; brother Frank Ivany; sisters Bessey Bailey, Versey Baker, Jessie Stanley and Elsie Ivany; mother-in-law Susie Baker; special nephew Loyal Ivany; and many other relatives and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home, Hickman's Harbour. Gullage - Passed away at the Health Science Centre July 6, 2005, after a brief illness, Evelyn (Chaulk) Gullage, age 78 years, of Little Catalina. Predeceased by husband Alexander Chaulk, son Charles L. Chaulk and grandson Gregory Chaulk. Left to mourn are husband Clifford Gullage; sons Willis Chaulk (Anne) at Spillars Cove, David Chaulk (Frances) at Baie Verte, Gordon Chaulk (Barbara) at Port Union, Alexander Chaulk (Kim) at Barrie, Ontario, and Thomas Chaulk (Sharron) at Port Elgin, Ontario; daughters Madeline Currie (Wilfred) at Mississauga, Ontario, and Ramona Baker (Howard) at Carbonear; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren;. sisters Rachel Dalton and Florence Johnson (John); seven stepchildren, nine step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild; and a large circle of friends and relatives. Janes: It is with great sadness the family of the late George Janes, age 85, from Britannia, announce his passing at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on July 1, 2005. Predeceased by parents Joseph and Myra and brothers Adam and William. He will be sadly missed by his wife of nearly 64 years, Blanche; sons Fred (Letha) and Leslie (Elizabeth). Also, left with wonderful memories are grandchildren Joy (Bruce), Woodrow (Tammy), Darryl (Paula), Clifford (Nina), Tony (Tammy) and Lori; great-grandchildren Ashley, Brandon, Kyle, Natlie and Lauren; sisters-in-law Eva Duffett and Millicent Janes; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Goodyear, Olsen Lloyd (June 21, 1950 - June 30, 2005) - At the age of 55, Olsen passed away from his family and friends. Olsen is predeceased by his father Simeon Goodyear (2001) and father-in-law Patrick Tobin (2000). Left with loving memories his wife Janet; daughters Sandra (Carl Butler) at Kelligrews and Cheryl (Keith Tucker) at Upper Gullies; very special grandson Brendan; mother Lillian at Bonavista; sisters Jessie Williams (Steven) at Halifax, NS, Clarice Blake (Paul) at Halifax, NS, and Pauline Crowe (Rodney) at Yarmouth, NS. Also, left with cherished memories are his mother-in-law Florence Tobin; sisters-in-law Sherri Saunders (Jim), Gloria Marshall (Harold) and Alice Keough (Joe); brothers-in-law Terry Tobin (Margaret), Brian Tobin (Jodean), Ross Tobin (Martha), Craig Tobin (Cindy) and Paul Tobin (Michele); and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Palmer - Passed away suddenly at Murray River, PEI, on Monday, July 18, 2005, Jeffery Palmer of Brooklyn, aged 46 years. Predeceased by his father Reginald and brother-in-law Joe. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his mother Lillian of Brooklyn; son Scott (Sharon), Bloomfield, and Scott's mom Shelia; sisters Beryl (Ivan), Canning's Cove, Grace (Marvin), Canning's Cove, Joyce (Morris), Portland, Lydia (Lewis), Bloomfield, Dora (Nathan), Canning's Cove, Doris (Joyles), Fort McMurray, AB, and Brenda (Edward), Little Hearts Ease; brothers Raymond (Eileen), Labrador City, Roland (Loretta), Canning's Cove, Derick (Crystal), Weybridge, and Glyn (Jocelyn), Brooklyn; granddaughters Ocean and Dyamon; grandson Jagger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge, from where the funeral took place on Saturday, July 23, 2005. Interment took place at United Church Cemetery, Brooklyn.
