MOSS, George - Passed away suddenly at the Dr. G. B.Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on June 27, 2004, George Moss, age 86, from Jamestown. Leaving to mourn are his wife of 37 years Katherine, son Jamie (Kim Cole), daughter Kaffie (Victor Hancock), brother Ambrose (Marion), nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Rested at the Anglican Church, Jamestown, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Chuck Lockhart, took place on Wednesday, June 30, 3:30 p.m., with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

TAVERNOR, Carter Stanley - Passed peacefully away at his home in Calgary, Alberta, on June 23, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer, Carter Tavernor, for­merly of Shoal Harbour, aged 53 years. Predeceased by his sister Marilyn and his father Eric Tavernor. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his com­panion of three years Danice Bylow; mother Debbie Tavernor at London, Ontario; brothers Dale (Diane) at Linsday, Ontario, and Randy (Phyllis) at London, Ontario; sister Valerie (Gordon) at Mississauga, Ontario; and a large cirde of relatives and friends. Cremation took place at Calgary. A private family memorial will be held at a later date at London, Ontario.

PEVIE, James W. - Passed away suddenly at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, on Thu rsclay, June24, 2004, James W. Pevie of Amold's Cove, aged 68 years. Predeeased by his parents Joseph and Melinda Pevie. Leaving to mourn wltn fbnd and loving memories his wife Jean of 49 years; daughters Ethel (Alex Camponi) at Regina, SK, Melinda (Kurt Goodwin) at Arnold's Cove and Jena Pevie (Darren Beck) at Sunnyside; sons, Wade (Patricia) at Labrador City Calvin (Anna) at Arnold's Cove, Gord (Dale) at Arnold's Cove and John (Ronda) at Arnold'e Cove;  brother Joseph Pevie (Gertrude) at Arnold's Cove; thirteen grandchildren; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Funeral serv­ice held on Monday, June 28, 2004, from SL Michael's Anglican Church, Arnold's Cove, with interment at lnterfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove. A memorial fund to St. Michael's Anglican Church, Arnold's Cove has been set up in his memory.

JOHN MCDONALD MARSHALL - Died June 27, 2004, at the Health Sciences, St. John's, NL. Loving husband of Jessie (nee Clench); loving father of John at Niagara on the Lake, ON; loving brother of Margaret Clyde (Don) at Ariss, ON, and George Marshall (Sally) at Breslau, ON. Predeceased by son Mark, parents John and Christina Marshall, sis­ter Helen Greenhorn and her husband William and nephew Scott Marshall. A well loved son-in-law to Alex and Ruby Clench at Shoal Harbour and brother-in-law of Shelia Strong, Walwyn Clench at Alberta, Austin Clench at Kitchener, ON, AND Audra and Leonard Strong at Shoal Harbour. Sadly missed by all of his nieces and nephews. John will be greatly missed by his good friend Willis Boyd and family as well as all his wonderful friends here on the Rock

Barbara L. Holloway (nee Butt) Passed away suddenly on June 24, 2004, Barbara L. Holloway (nee Butt) of Portland, age 64. Leaving with loving memories her husband William; daughter Kay (Tony); sons Keith, Shawn (Colleen), Paul (June) and son Jaric) and Clay; grandchildren Landon and Cassie; sisters Sus (Eli), Betty (Morris) and Effie (Neil); brother Gary; and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Annie Holloway; sister Doris Abbott and brother Alex Holloway. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Olive of 36 years; “son" Victor Holloway ( Tangee) at Bloomfield; sisters Charity (Ross Guy) at Lethbridge, Bessie Ovelette at Lethbridge, Mona (Josiah Butt) at Brooklyn and Louise (Chesley Jacobs) at North West Brook; brothers Hanuel (Gladys) at Lethbridge, Herman (Joyce) at Whitecourt, AB, Frank (Cindy) at Lethbridge, Barry (Minie) at Lethbridge, Glen at Whitecourt, AB, and Ross (Michelle) at Lethbridge; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Thursday, July 1, 2004, from Salvation Army Citadel, Musgravetown, with inter­ment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown.

Left with fond and loving memories are brother, Dawson at BC; daughter, Evelyn Upward at Toronto, ON; sons, Ross (Brenda) at Grand Falls, NL, and Roy (Karlyne) at Middleton, NS; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Visitation was 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., Monday, July 5, 2004, with service at the funeral home, 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2004, followed by interment at Adeytown Cemetery. BROWN, Athena - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Saturday, July 3, 2004, Athena Brown of Harcourt, formerly of Monroe in her 93rd year. Predeceased by parents Emauel and Belle Stone, husband Stephen, four brothers and one sister. Left with fond and loving memories daughters Bernice Pelley (Reginald) at Harcourt and Cynthia Schwekowsky (Gerhard) at Dartmouth, NS; son Eric at Vietnam; grandchildren Wendy Pelley (Myles) at Dartmouth, NS, and Craig Pelley (Kim) at Clarenville; one great-grandson Grant Pelley at Clarenville; sisters Peg Ploughman at St. John's and Belle Peddle at Clarenville; brother Doyle Stone (Emily) at Toronto, ON; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Visitation took place on Sunda July 4, 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service was 2 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2004, from United Chunch, Harcourt, with inter­ment at United Church Cemetery, Harcourt. Rested at the United Church in Summerville from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Philip Brewer, took place on July 5, 2004, with interment following. Predeceased by his first wife, Maria (Hicks), 1980; infant daughter, Shirley; par­ents, Alex and Jessie Abbott; brothers, Ernest and Donald, sisters, Alice Abbott, Myrtle Durdle and Edith Mifflin. of Bonavista; and step-daughter, Lorna Hayward. Left with loving memories are his wife, Elizabeth, daughter, Marie (Doug) Linthorne at Clarenville, son, Kenneth (Marie) at St. Louis, PEI; his precious and cherished granddaughter, Dr. Krista (Tom) Brown (Linthorne) at St. John's; step­daughters, Eileen (Bernard) Woods and Edith (Albert) at Sweetland, NS; step-granddaughters, Carolyn, Kim and Karen; several nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Strathies Funeral Home, Bonavista, with visitation on Tuesday and Wednesday. Funeral service was held Wednesday, July 7, from Memorial United Church with Rev. Tony Cole and Rev. FRY, George - Passed peacefully away at the G. B. Cross Memonal Hospital on Friday, July 16, 2004, George Fry of Charleston in his 47th year. Predeceased by brother Wilfred. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Dana, son Bradley, parents Harold and Violet, sisters Marilyn (Bruce), Sharon (Eric), Margaret (Matthew), Geraldine (Eugene), Pauline, Jennifer and Audre (Jeff), brothers Walwyn (Mary), Andrew, Gurshan, Reginald, Edgar, Jeff (Patrina) and Stephen (Sharon). Funeral service was officiated with Rev. Nathan Cutler on July 20, 2004, from St. Thomas Anglican Church, Charleston, with interment following at St.. Thomas Anglican Cemetery, Charleston. Pallbearers were Matthew Nolan, Eric Janes, Lloyd Pike, Lester Fry, Angus Fry and David Fry. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Blundon's Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour. "WE CARE."
