Passed peacefully away at Dr. Albert O'Mahony Memorial Manor, Clarenville on Monday, December 15, 2014, Claribel Avery of Deep Bight, aged 97 years. Predeceased by husband Olan, brothers Gilbert and Harry Short; sisters Mable English and Florence Stapleton. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her brother-in-law Jim English; many nieces and nephews, special friends Edgar and Yvonne Avery; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Trinity United Church, Deep Bight. Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Trinity United Church with interment at Deep Bight Cemetery.

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on December 20, 2014, Gordon John Skeffington of Clarenville, formally of Amherst Cove, aged 87 years. Predeceased by parents Elijah and Phoebe Jane, sister Marjorie, brother Joseph and sister in law Myra. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, brother Rance, sister Edna (Clayton), sister in law Mildred and family and friends. Funeral service, officiated by Rev. Valerie Gillam took place on December 23, 2014, from St. Nicholas Church, Amherst Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Strathie's Funeral Home, Bonavista.

Evelyn Fowlow
Born: July 9th, 1948
Passed on: December 24th, 2014

Passed peacefully away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre on December 24th, 2014 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Evelyn Fowlow, age 66. She is predeceased by her husband Austin and her parents Orlando and Annie White and stepfather Reginald Collett. Leaving to mourn with cherished memories are her children Shawn (Carolyn), Trudy (Brad) and Stephen (Lisa); grandchildren Danielle, Luke, Hayley, Mark and Caleb, Catherine and Christopher; brother Fred White (Ena) and sister Mary Brown (Raymond) and a wide circle of special relatives and friends. Many thanks to family and friends who supported her during her illness in ways too countless to mention. The family is also grateful for each and every one of the medical professionals who assisted with her care as well all the clergy who helped to support her faith. The funeral service to celebrate her life was held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Trinity East, on Saturday, December 27, 2014 with internment at the Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton. Selina Myria Goldsworthy

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Selina Myria Goldsworthy (nee Miller) on January 10, 2015 at Kin Place Personal Care Home, Oakbank, Manitoba. She leaves to mourn her sons Sterling (Doreen) of Moncton, Calvin (May) of Winnipeg; daughters Ruby Locke (Keith) of Moncton, Margaret Critchley (Dick) of Winnipeg; son-in-law Tim Koehler of Winnipeg; sisters Minnie Piercey and Elizabeth McWhirther, and brother Franklin Miller. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Lisa, Sherry, Donna Lee, Keri, Kevin, Kimberley, Melissa, Allan, Bradley, Mark and Michael; great-grandchildren Matthew, Lauren, Dylan, Amy, Bennett, Devon and Selina, and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Selina was predeceased by her husband Allan in 2007, her youngest daughter Doreen Koehler in 2005, and sisters Julia, Thelma and Mary. Selina was born in Trinity East, Newfoundland and lived in Gander, Moncton, and Oakbank. Funeral Service was held on Friday, January 16th, 2015 at 12:00pm at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg, with viewing prior. Following the reception, interment took place at Transcona Cemetery. The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Bruce Kowaluk and Dr. Nader Shenouda. A special thanks to the staff of Kin Place Personal Care Home for the love, care and kisses given to Mom over the last 8 years. Kin Place is a home in the truest sense of the word.
