Passed peacefully away at Bonavista Hospital on Saturday, January 31, 2015, Ada Florence Jane Freeman of Champney's Arm, aged 83 years. Predeceased by husband Frederick and brother Ervin Randell. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Ervin (Mary) of Champney's Arm; grandchildren Curtis (Crystal), Champney's Arm, Charlene (Gerald), Shoal Harbour and John (Susan), Champney's Arm; great grandchildren Gavin, Nicholas, Bella and Blair; sister-in-law Ivy Randell and her family; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at St. Clements Anglican Church, Champney's West. Funeral service took place on Monday, February 2, 2015 from St. Clements Anglican Church with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Champney's West.

Irene Hogarth

Passed away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, Irene Hogarth of Trinity East, aged 90 years. Predeceased by husband Harvey; brothers Norman, Levi and Bob; sisters Janet, Shirley, Lillian, Margaret, Violet, Amy and Norma; parents Thomas and Florence Fowlow. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sisters Elsie Monks and Francis Fowlow; many nieces and nephews; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Trinity East. Funeral service took place on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Trinity East with interment at Anglican Cemetery, Port Rexton. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mildred Avery, age 81, from Hillview on January 25, 2015 at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville. Predeceased by her parents, William James and Gladys; sisters, Pearl (Allan) and Janie (I. Winston); her husband Donald; son Frederick and her beloved grandson Mitchell. She is remembered and loved by her children, Charles, Danny (Sheila), Wayne (Pam), Clifford (Marilyn),Clyde, Craig (Tracey), Lorraine (Clyde), Darrin (Louise) and Clyde (Debbie) along with her 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sister Marie (Winston); brother, Harvey (June); brother-in-law Winston (d. Janie) and a large circle of friends and family. Rested at the Grace United Church Hillview from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Predeceased by his parents, Llewelyn and Pheobe; wife, Florence; daughter, Darlene, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his daughter, Lisa (Derwin); sons, Rick (Pam), Donnie (Barbara), Lorne (Lorrie) and Roger; grandchildren, Amber, Amanda, Justin, Holly, Nikita, Matthew, Lucas, Kyle and Ashley; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Hilda Nurse , Edith Ryan (Pearce), Helen Bailey (Cyril) and Dorothy (Roy) and many other relatives and friends. Leaving to mourn his wife Marjorie; children: Marlene Blundon (Owen) of Clarenville, Sandy Lethbridge (Shirley) of Clarenville and Eleanor Haynes (Jeff) of Halifax, step-children: Dianne Greening (Dave) of Alberta, Vivian Fullbrook (Blain) of Ont; Cathy Janes (Rick) of Alberta, Victor Strong of Shoal Harbour, Leonard Strong (Audra) of Shoal Harbour and William Strong (Suzette) of Morley's Siding, step son in law Wayne Short of Shoal Harbour, 20 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, brothers: Albert (Sun), Roy and Bob Lethbridge, sister: Lillian Rice, step-brother Gus Parsley, Predeceased by son Christopher and step-daughter Nita Short, brothers: Jim, George, Ches and Bill Lethbridge, sisters: Carrie Lethbridge, Blanche Murphy and Dot Hackett plus a large circle of family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Sunday, February 1, 2015, Gertrude Eddy, age 80. Leaving to mourn her three sons Larry (Joanne), Darrell, Bobby and her daughter Valerie (Rory) Chard along with her two grandchildren John Eddy and Jacob Eddy as well as a number of close family members and friends. Funeral service to be held at the Memorial United Church in Bonavista. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Newfoundland or the Cancer Society.

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Friday, February 6th, 2015 Jonah Spurrell of Come By Chance, formerly of Butter Cove, aged 77 years. Predeceased by his brothers Simeon, Robert and Eldred. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Florence of 53 years; sons Stewart (Wanda) of St. John's, Donald (Pauline) of Hillview, Derrick (Joy) of Arnold's Cove; grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Rebecca, Ryan; sisters Pearl Spurrell of Sunnyside, Melvie Chaulk (Norman) of Innisfil, ON; brothers Stanley (Christine) of Little Heart's Ease, Cecil (Imelda) of St. John's and a large circle of relatives and friends. Visitations took place at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Heart's Ease. Funeral Service took place on Monday, February 9, 2015 from St. Alban's Anglican Church, Gooseberry Cove with interment at the Interdenominational Cemetery, Clarenville. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Barbara (Ed Genge), Arlene (Dave Holloway), Myrna Greening and Cathy (Derek Boone); sons Terry (Bunny), Don Jr. and Neil (Isaias); nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother Clifford Brett (Betty); sisters-in-law Josephine Brett and Netta Vivian; special friends Juanita & Larry Lane, Valerie & Rob Burry and Millicent & Allan Vatcher; her friends at Clarenville Retirement Centre; and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Holy Trinity Church, Terra Nova. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Holy Trinity United Church, Terra Nova with interment to follow at the United Cemetery, Terra Nova. passed peacefully away February 13 at G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville. Predeceased by parents John and Hannah Phillips, Brothers Wilson, James, Chesley, and sister Lovelett. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his two sons, Bruce and Barry (Mona); their mother Reta; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; Brother Hedley (Nita); sisters Alice (Earle); Dorothy (George) ; Olivine (George) , and one sister-in-law Sara Phillips, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Walter of 65 years; daughters Linda Blackmore (Albert) of George's Brook, Barbara Noseworthy (Reuben) of Garnish; grandchildren Walter, Steven, Richard, Michael; great grandchildren Jalen, Lakeisha, Cherish, Chanelle, Jenna, Brooklyn, and Kate; sisters Marina Tilley (Joe) of Milton, Hollis Holloway (Late Raymond) of Bloomfield, Dorothy Marsh (Randell) of George's Brook; brother David Pelley (Marie) of George's Brook; brother in law Uriah (Hughie) Bailey and a large circle of relatives and friends. Predeceased by his father Adolphus and mother Minnie, father in law Stephen and mother in law Jennie Chatman. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Yvonne of 43 years; son Gorvin of St. John's; sisters Maxine Gould (Max) of Winterbrook, Margaret Greening (Dominic) of St. John's, Jean Hampton (Vincent) of Acton, ON, Doreen Hobbs (Tom) of Bunyan's Cove, Myra Pye (Ray) of Jamestown; brother Bruce (Shirley) of Jamestown; brothers in law Maxwell Chatman of Canning's Cove, Leslie Chatman (Theresa) of Open Hall, Herb Payne of George's Brook; sisters in law Elsie Simmonds of Canning's Cove, Loretta Elliott (Selby) of Elliott's Cove and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home in Lethbridge.
