Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, January 31, 2014, Brenda Baggs of Clarenville, aged 46 years. Predeceased by grandparents Eric and Marjorie Diamond and Bert and Evelyn Rideout. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Scott of 20 years; daughters Laura and Sarah; parents Mac and Ethel Diamond; parents-in-law Chesley and Phyllis Baggs; sister Carol (Bela); brothers David (Dana), Perry (Kim) and Murray (Kim); sisters-in-law Sheryl (Calvin), Dale (Kevin) and Valerie (Doug); brothers-in-law Dexter (Diane) and Bob (Millicent); nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery. In her memory donations may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel, Clarenville, the Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Doral Abbott
With great sadness, the family of Doral Abbott announces his sudden passing at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the age of 68 years. Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Eliza Abbott, brother William Abbott and granddaughter baby Annabel Abbott. Leaving to mourn, his wife, Diane; son Chris (Rochelle); daughter Sherry (Chris Williams); grandsons Damien Abbott and Calvin Williams; sister Alvina (Fred) Lodge of Port Union; and sister-in-law Shirley Abbott of Bonavista. Also, a large circle of nieces and nephews.

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Saturday, January 25, 2014, Ruth Clouter of Bunyan's Cove, aged 73 Years. Predeceased by her parents Belah & Nellie Penney, sisters Wilhelmina & Greta, brothers; Wilf, Gerald, Alvin, & Eric. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Bond of 52 years, son Ivan (Maxine), four grandchildren; Jackie (Josh), Jonathan (Noelle), Brandon, & Mason, two great grandchildren; Claire & Leah, sister Shirley, brother Barry (Linda), and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service was held 2 P.M. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from the Anglican Church, Bunyan's Cove with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Bunyan's Cove. Predeceased by her parents Ephraim & Sarah (Hillier) Stokes, sons; Lawrence & Calvin, daughter Fern, brothers; Herbert & Peter, sisters; Melissa, Daisy, Carrie, Eliza, daughter-in-law Nellie, brothers-in-law Jim, Cecil Cuff, Cecil Pardy, Edwin and Stanley; sisters in law Blanche, Elizabeth. Left with fond and loving memories her son Ernest (Shirley); five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister Vera, brother Cecil, sister-in-law Ethel and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge on Monday, January 27, 2014 and the United Church Deadmans Bay, Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Predeceased by parents, Walter and Alice Avery and sister, Eugena Spurrell and brother-in-law, Roland Vaters. He leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories his wife of nearly 45 years, Dinah ; sons, Brian and Conrad; brother, Stanley (Brenda) Avery; sisters, Audrey Vaters, Ida (Cater) King, Ivy (Donald) Spurrell and Christine (Albert) Smith; brother-in-law, Jacob Spurrell; nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends. Clarence Hollett
Passed on: February 5th, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clarence Hollett at the G.B. Cross Hospital in Clarenville on Febuary 5, 2014 aged 91 years. Clarence was the first born son of the late William and Hannah Drucella Hollett of North Harbour on August 9, 1922. Predeceased by daughter Trudy Lenherr in 2012, first wife Millicent Hollett 1967 and brother Raymond 2013. He served with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary until retirement in 1967 and was a member of the Newfoundland Real Estate Board. He was an avid fisherman and delighted in spending many hours on the salmon rivers across Newfoundland. He also loved hunting and had many hunting dogs throughout his life. Leaving to mourn his loving Wife, Leonie (nee Stoyles); precious daughters: Shirley Ann Kimple and Florence Jean Christie (John Luddington); Grandchildren James Kimple (Dana) of Brunswick, Georgia Nathalie Dalton, Edmonton, AB Jaime Dalton (Anatole Nykolyshyn), Saint Albert, AB, Tricia Heisler (Andrew), Mississippi Jesse Beaulieu (April), St. Catherine's, ON; 7 Great Grandchildren: Josie and Cooper Kimple, Liam and Rowan Nykolyshyn, Lauryn and Leah Heisler, Jalen Beaulieu; brother Stan (Millie) Williams Lake, B.C., and sisters Phyllis (Jerry) Chaulk, Grand falls, NL, and Olive Pinsent, Grand Falls, NL, other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home 329 Freshwater Road St John's, on Sunday Feb 9, 2014 from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 10-12 noon. ; 94, Gulfport, FL passed away Feb. 2, 2014. She enjoyed helping and giving to others. Throughout the years she also enjoyed sewing, being a member of a Winnebago club and driving back to Newfoundland yearly to visit. Survived by her step son Orland C Brown Jr, step daughters Hope Morse and Kristine LeBlanc, sister Myrtle Reid, brothers William and James Long, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her laughter was contagious, her smile infectious, her adages memorable. She will be missed by all. Catherine Irene Mayne (Saint)

passed away on February 12, 2014 at the age of 87. She was born May 28, 1926 in Bonavista, a small fishing village on the eastern coast of Newfoundland. She met her husband, Albert P. Mayne, USN, while working as a telephone operator on the Argentia Naval Base. They built a home on a bay in Dunville where they began their family of six children. They moved to Long Island in 1963, and a few years later to Cherry Hill, NJ. In 1980 Kay and Al retired to Orlando, Florida, where they enjoyed having their children and grandchildren visit. Catherine was an avid knitter and a leader in the "Sunshine Ladies" who knitted things for the needy. Her other passions included being with dogs, watching the birds and doing puzzles. After Albert passed away in 2005 she moved to Atlanta to be closer to three of her children. Family and friends will always remember her thoughtfulness, endearing smile and all the wonderful things she made for them! Catherine is predeceased by her husband Albert Paul, and her son Alan Phillip. Surviving children include Dr. Paul Mayne of Marietta, GA; Cathy Mayne of Henniker, NH; Donna Mayne of Brigantine, NJ; Terry (Colella) Donovan of Jacksonville, FL; and Rex Mayne of Alpharetta, GA. She is also survived by her niece, Yvonne Bradbury of St. John's, NL, and her nephew, Duncan Abbott of Gambo, NL. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held for Catherine on March 1 from 2:00-5:00 at the Gala, 3760 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta. We invite friends and anyone who knew Catherine to stop by. Leaving to mourn daughters Linda Whalen (Bert), Patsy Abbott (Roy), sons Bruce (Peggy), Alex (Cindy), Shawn (Peggy Lee), grandchildren Andrew, David, Barry, Angela, Bryan, Cody, Jordan, Adrian and Dylan, brother Stanley Harnett (Hilda), sisters-in-law Susie Duffett, Gladys Harnett, Edna Harnett and Alma Butt (Tom) and special friend Gladys Stagg. Funeral was held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Catalina on February 12, 2014, interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Catalina. Emma was an active, beloved member of the Trinity Bay North community. She will be missed by her family and many friends, young and old.
