BARNES, Martha Cora - Passed peacefully away at Harbour Lodge, Carbonear on Saturday, January 27, 2007, Martha Cora Barnes of Shoal Harbour, formerly of Great Burin, in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Carl Curtis Barnes.
Forever loved and sadly missed.

WHITE, Harold Samuel - We regret to announce the peaceful passing of Harold Samuel White, age 75 from Port Blandford. Predeceased by his wife Joyce; parents Robert and Irene; sisters Jennie, Amy, Lottie, Lossie and brother Laban. Leaving to mourn with special memories are his wife, Gladys; children Garfield (Pheobe), Clarence (Judy), Paul (Connie), Wayne (Linda), seven grandchildren, two great­grandchildren, brothers Len and Robert and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at the Alton United Church, Port Blandford, from where the funeral service, officiated by Mr. Bruce Rideout, took place on Monday, January 29 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island. FAMILY CARING FOR FAMILY

BAKER, Allan - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on January 25, 2007, Allan Baker, age 80 from Hillview. Leaving to mourn are his wife, Pearl; sons Grenville (Jeanette) and Lloyd (Georgina); grandchildren Shelly, Justin and Dana and other relatives and friends Rested at the United Church, Hillview, from where the funeral service, officiated by Reverend G. Jarvis, took place on Monday, January 29 with cremation following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island. FAMILY CARING FOR FAMILY

PENNEY, Cecil Chesley - Passed peacefully away after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons on January 28, 2007 at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex, Cecil Chesley Penney, formerly of Champney's West in his 75th year. Predeceased by his wife Florence (nee Cheeseman), brothers Aaron and Eric. Left with fond and loving memories are his son Bradley Todd, Toronto; sister Mary Hannaford, Clarenville; brothers: Edmund (Sylvia), Clarenville, Lindsey (Ella), Summerville and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Carnell's Funeral Home. Funeral service took place on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Church of the Ascension, Mt. Pearl. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd. Donations in his memory may be made to the Parkinsons Society, NL.

SMITH, Irmgard Edith (Ina) (Kirschke) - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Irmgard Edith (Ina) ( Kirschke) Smith, age 66 from Hodge's Cove on January 28, 2007. Predeceased by parents Arthur and Gertrud Kirschke. Leaving to mourn her husband Donald; son Raymond; daughter Sabrina; granddaughter Jesse; grandsons Colin, Joshua and Nicholas; also four brothers who live in Germany. Rested at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Hodge's Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Reverend N. Chatman, took place on Thursday, February 1, 2007, with interment following. ADAMS, MANUEL - Manuel Adams born at Milton, Trinity Bay to Aaron and Leah (Holloway) Adams on July 17, 1931 passed away at Bethlehem, Georgia, USA on January 7, 2007. Manuel was predeceased by his parents, Aaron and Leah, infant brother Kirby (1934), special nephew David Manuel Wiseman (1990), brother in-law David Brown (1998). Leaving to mourn with loving memories are wife: Shirley, daughters: Laura (Ronnie), Carrie (Michael), three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brothers: Donald (Ena) Adams, MB, Baxter (Elsie) Adams, sisters: Myra (Mortey) Taylor, Jane (Frank) Wiseman, Rowena Brown, Josephine (William) Noseworthy, CBS, and Ina Adams, BC. Cremation has taken place and remains will be brought home to Newfoundland at a later date.
Rest in Peace Manuel, your battles are over.

WEBBER, Maude (Peg) - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, February 7, 2007, Maude (Peg) Webber of Clarenville, aged 79 years. Predeceased by daughter Sandra; grandson Jamie, brother Baxter Peddle and sister Inez Bursey. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Allan of 60 years; daughter Donna (David Balchelor), Prescott, ON; sons Jack (Gert), Clarenville and Vincent (Cathy), Clarenville; son-in-law Mark Cote (Diane), Pincourt, PQ; sister Alice Avery, Long Beach and Hazel (Bob Vey), Clarenville; sisters-in-law Cassie Ivany, Clarenville, Brenda (Stewart Ralph), Point Leamington and Gwen Peddle, Long Beach; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held on Saturday, February 10, 2007 from Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at United Cemetery, Church Hill. In her memory donations may be made to United Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville.

ELLIS, Daphne - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Friday, February 2, 2007, Daphne Ellis of George's Brook aged 68 years. Predeceased by her parents William and Cornilla and her sister Doris. Left with fond and loving memories are her husband William of 50 years; sons Wade and Morley, both of George's Brook, Geff (Jeanette Pitts) of Milton and daughter Roxanne (Tony O'Driscoll) of George's Brook; sister Eva (Irving Stead) of Musgravetown; brothers Harvey Chatman (Barbara) of St. John's, Herder Chatman (Norma) of Cannings Cove; grandchildren Stephanie (Dave Mackey), Bradley Chatman, Vanessa (Duane Strong), Cody Ellis, Chyanne Ellis, Kelsey Ellis; great-grandchildren Camryn and Jesse Mackey and a large number of relatives and friends. Remains rested at the Pentecostal Church in George's Brook. Funeral took place on Monday, February 5, 2007 from the Pentecostal Church in George's Brook with interment at the Milton-George's Brook Cemetery in Milton George's Brook. Donations in her memory may be made to her family or to Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital Fund.

SHEPPARD, Clayton - Passed away suddenly at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's on Tuesday, February 6, 2007, Clayton Sheppard of Clarenville, aged 70 years. Predeceased by wife Ann. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters Judy and Joy; son Scott and their families; his fiancée Shirley Balsom; sister Olive Vardy and a large circle of relatives and many friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service was held on Friday, February 9, 2007 from Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, Clarenville with interment at Pleasant Street Cemetery, Clarenville.

BUTT, Clifford - Passed away at Bonavista Hospital on Saturday, February 10, 2007, Clifford Butt, of Catalina, aged 59 years. Predeceased by son Derek in 1990. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Barbara, sons David (Carolyn) and Kenny. Loving grandsons Derek and Nathan. Sisters Joyce Samson (Frank) and Elsie Hunt (Elias), brothers Sid (Evelyn) and Frank. Sister-in-law Marina Keel (Ross) and brother-in-law Ken (Marg), Bonavista. Also a wide range of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service from Bethany United Church, Catalina on February 12, 2007. Interment United Church Cemetery.

NORRIS, Edna R. - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, Edna Ruby Norris of North West Brook, aged 82 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Bill of 58 years; daughters Beverley (Roy Oake), Lewisporte, Karen Norris (Max Turner), Coquitlam, BC, Jeanette (Clyde Soper), North West Brook, Lynne (David Beaton), Clarenville and Gail Norris, Winterland; sisters Alice Goodyear, Corner Brook, Flora Thurston, St. John's and Eliza Hussey, St. John's; brother Ronald Goobie (Jean), Deer Lake; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville and Zion Pentecostal Tabernacle, North West Brook. Funeral service held on Friday, February 16, 2007 from Zion Pentecostal Tabernacle, North West Brook with interment at Pentecostal Cemetery, North West Brook. In her memory donations may be made to Canadian Feed the Children Fund.

LOCKYER, Susannah - Passed peacefully away at Harbour Lodge, Carbonear on Saturday, February 10, 2007, Susannah Lockyer of Arnold's Cove, aged 85 years. Predeceased by husband William B. Lockyer. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her sister Lily (late Norman Guy); brother Tom Green (Veryl) and Alex Green (Gerry); niece Elaine Guy (Gerald) and family; sister-in-law Susie Barrett; brother-in-law Earl Lockyer (Winnie) and a number of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Arnold's Cove. Funeral service held on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from St. Michael's All Angels Anglican Church, Arnold's Cove with interment at Interfaith Cemetery, Arnold's Cove. PEARCE, Meta - Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Sunday, February 11, 2007, Meta Pearce of North Harbour, aged 92 years. Predeceased by husband William and son Ewart. Left with fond and loving memories, her daughters Eunice Rowe (Douglas) of Pasadena, Edna Spence (Calvin) of Plum Point and Sherry Giles (Bill) of North Harbour; sons Hector (Marilyn) of Blaketown, Ivan (Marge) of South Carolina, Calvin (Jean) of North Harbour and Harvey (Carolyn) of North Harbour; daughter-in-law Dorothy Mayo (Randy) of Marystown; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at the Bethel United Church, North Harbour. Funeral service held Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from the Bethel United Church, North Harbour with interment at the United Cemetery, North Harbour. In her memory donations may be made to Bethel United Church, North Harbour.
