STANLEY, Weldon
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, Weldon Stanley of George's Brook, aged 92 years. Predeceased by wife, Irene, sons, Chesley and Albert, daughter, Ruby, son-in-law, Greg Ivany and great-granddaughter, Jasmine Ivany. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughter, Millicent (Edison Ploughman) at George's Brook, eight grand-children, eleven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville, and Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, George's Brook. Funeral service took place on Thursday, Jan.29, 2004, from  Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, George's Brook, with interment at Milton-George's Brook Cemetery.

STANLEY, Gordon
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Jan. 24, 2004, Gordon Stanley of George's Brook, in his 78th year. Predeceased by his sisters, Maude, Mable and Gertrude and brother, Ernest. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife, Shirley (nee Temple); children, Jean (Allan), Sadie, Joyce (Wilson), Beverly, Oliver (Waveline), Ron (Louise), Vinnie (John), Evelyn, Daisy (Morris), Rod (Darlene) and Janice (Robert); 22 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Bailey; brothers, Jack, Charle and Larry; and a large cir­cle of other relatives and friends. Rested at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church, George's Brook. Funeral service was officiated by Pastor Dennis Newbury on Jan. 27, 2004, with interment at the George's Brook/Milton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Blundons Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour. "WE CARE."

GREENING, Annie
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, Annie Greening of Musgravetown, aged 74 years. Predeceased by five children, one brother and two sisters. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 57 years Lewis; sisters, Florence Holloway at Bloomfield, Ada Holloway at Williams Lake, BC, Joyce (Holloway) Wiseman at Williams Lake, BC, and Fern Hobbs at St. John's; brother, Raymond (Hollis) at Bloomfield, Bernard (Ina) at Musgravetown and Winston (Marie) at Bloomfield; and a num­ber of other relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral  Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held on Tuesday, Jan. 27 2004, from Salvation Army Citadel, Musgravetown. Interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown. In her memory donations may be made to Islandview Citadel, Musgravetown, or the Gideons.

REID (Pretty), Emma
Passed peacefully away, with her family by her side, at the G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in her 93rd year. Loving and devoted mother of William - predeceased (Myrtle), Merrill (Phyllis), Lindo (Beverly), Mollie Drover (Ern - predeceased), Madonna Horwood (Hugh) and Karen Russell (Gordon). Loving grandmother to 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn, loving sister, Lucy Hansford (James) and loving sister-in-law, Laura Rogers and family of predeceased brother, Graham Rogers, as well as many nephews, nieces and friends. Emma was a lifetime member of the Canadian Legion and Lions Club, an avid gardener, curler, needlework artist and, through her volunteer work, demon­strated her love of people and her church. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends. Special thank-you to Dr. O'Mahony and the doctors and staff at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital. Funeral services held on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, from Memorial United Church, Clarenville. Interment followed at United Cemetery, Weybridge, Random Island. In lieu of flowers, donations in Emma's memory may be made to the Weybridge Cemetery Fund.

MILLER, Louisa
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on  Saturday, January 31, 2004, Louisa Miller of New Bonaventure, aged 95 years. Predeceased by her husband, James and her brothers and sisters. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her son, Fred (Irene) and grandchildren, James and Judy at New Bonaventure; sister-in-law, Betty Ivany at St. John's and a circle of family and friend Rested at St. John The Evangelist Anglican Church New Bonaventure, from where the funeral took place on Tuesday, February 3, 2004, with interment at Anglican Cemetery, New Bonaventure.

KING, GIadys
Passed peacefully away at Hoyles Home, St. John's, on Sunday, February 1, 2004, Gladys J. King of Clarenville, formerly of Little Heart's Ease, aged 87 years. Predeceased by husband, William (January 21, 2004) and infant son, Silas. Leaving to mourn daughter, Hilda Balsom (Robert); son, Cater King (Ida), eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Eli (Marci); sisters-in-law, Edna Spurrell and Mary Spurrell; brother-in-law, Azzariah King (Emma) and sisters-in-law, Mariam King and Edith Norris. Rested  at Fewer's Funeral Home in Clarenville and Little Heart's Ease. Funeral service held on Wednesday, February 4, 2004, from Bethel United Church, Little Heart's - Ease with interment at the United Cemetery, Little Heart's Ease. In her memory, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

HOBBS (OLOFORD), Evelyn
Passed away peacefully at Bonavista Hospital, Evelyn (Oldford) Hobbs on February 2, 2004, age 89 years Wife of the late Uriah Hobbs, Ellistqn. Survived by sons, Edgar, Donald (Beverly) at Fredericton, NB; daughters, Melita (Max) Way at Lethbndge and Catherine Fisher at Bonavista, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Predeceased by husband, Uriah; half-sister, Victoria Cuff and son-in-law, Eli Fisher. Rested at Elliston United Church. Funeral services held on Wednesday, February 4, 2004. Interment followed at Elliston United Church Cemetery.

WHITE, Malena
Malena White (nee Hiscock of Champney's West)
passed away peacefully on January 28, 2004, in her 75th year at Toronto. Predeceased by parents, Charles and May; brother, Wilfred (Printziline) and her husband, Fred. Leaving to mourn daughter, Diane Sanders; grandson, Jamie; three sisters, Molly Pennell (Bill), Doris Muscat (Frank) of Toronto and Sarah Long (Joe) of Champney's East; two brothers, Harold Hiscock (Evelyn) at English Harbour and Charles Hiscock (Dorothy) at St. John's; a dear Aunt, Doris Jerrett at Greenspond; and a large circle of friends and relatives.

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, Audrey Ellis of Lethbridge, aged 58 years. Predeceased by her parents, Simeon and Mary Ann Penney. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Roland of 38 years; daughter, Lisa (Rod Dodge) at Long Beach; son, David (Kim) at Lethbridge; grandchildren, Jessica and Benjamin; sister, Ida (George Butt) at Lethbridge; brothers, Harvey Penney at St. John's, Wayne Penney (Ruby) at Lethbridge and Ted Penney (Ann) at Lethbridge; sister-in-law, Gladys Penney at Clarenville; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Friday, February 13, 2004, from Salvation Army Citadel, Lethbridge, with interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Lethbridge.

ABBOTT, Alice D.
Passed peacefully away on February 10, 2004, Alice D. Abbott at home in Clarenville. Mrs. Abbott was 79 years of age. Predeceased by husband, Norman; and son, Robert. Left to mourn are sons, Raymond (wife, Rita) of Burin, NL, David (wife, Marion) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Barry (wife, Vera) of Moncton, NB, Paul (wife, Monique) of St. John's, NL; daughters, May (husband, Max Keats) of Gander, NL, Nola (husband, Robert Holloway) of Clarenville, NL, Grace (husband, Lee Strickland) of Burgeo, NL; daughters-in-law, Donna Abbott of St. John's, Lorraine Abbott of Pool's Cove, NL. Also leaving to mourn sisters, Grace Inder, Judy Humphries, Muriel Starkes; and brothers, Robert Humphries and Alfred Humphries; 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Rev. William Colbourne conducted funeral services at Faith United Church, Northern Arm on Friday, February 13, 2004 at 2 p.m. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Northern Arm. BREWER, Thomas
Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Gross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, with his family at his side, Thomas Brewer of Southern Harbour, formerly of Davis Cove, aged 62 years. Predeceased by his daughter, Rosella (1990). Left with fond and loving memories his wife, Rose of 39 years; daughters, Ann Brewer (Dean Froude), Kitchener, ON, Frances Branton (Perry), Thomlea and Connie Hollett (Jim) Arnold's Cove; sons, Jim (Sus), Joe (Michelle), Graham (Samantha), all of Southern Harbour, Paul (Rhonda), Arnold's Cove and Thomas, Kitchener, ON; grandchildren, Cassie, Miranda, Evan, Dillon, Samantha, Candace, Jodi, Jordan, Paulina, Matthew, Mitchel, Destiny, Devon, Josh and Brianna; brothers, Joe (Regina), South East Bight, Henry (Mary) and Ron (Diane) both of Ferndale; special niece, Priscilla Brewer; and a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at Christ The King Roman Catholic Church, Southern Harbour. Mass of Christian Burial held at Christ The King Church at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2004, with interment at Christ The King Cemetery, Southern Harbour.

KNEE, Stewart
Passed peacefully away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Monday, February 9, 2004, Stewart J. Knee of Lethbridge, aged 88 years. Predeceased by his wife Mary Ann. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters Phyllis (Ron Harris) at Lethbridge, Minnie (Clarence Martin) at Bunyan's Cove, and Hazel (Wilfred Oldford) at Lethbridge, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a circle of family and friends.  Rested  at  Fewer's  Funeral  Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held on Thursday, February 12, 2004, from Salvation Army Citadel, Lethbridge, with interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Lethbridge.

of Trouty passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2004, in her 85th year. Leaving to mourn son, Clarence (Sarah) of Trouty; grandsons, Michael B. of Shoal Harbour and Andrew B. of Norman Wells, NWT Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Port Rexton. Funeral service held Sunday, February 15, 2004, from St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Trouty, with interment at Anglican Cemetery; Trouty. A memorial fund may be made to St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Trouty.
