Leaving to mourn are his loving wife, Angela; daughters, Ruth (Percy) and Kim (Cyril); sons, Pat (Wendy), Barry (Cathy), Greg (Trina) and Bern; 10 grandchildren; brother, Sam (Martha) and many other relatives and friends. Passed away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, December 1, 2014, George Benson of Come By Chance, aged 68 years. Predeceased by his parents Daniel and Mamie Benson. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Tilly of 47 years; daughter Paula (Tom), Come By Chance; son Rodney (Sandi), Edmonton, AB; grandchildren Kristie Lynn and Cody Collins; sister Judy (John), Prince Edward Island; brothers Frank (Dinah), Come By Chance, Rex (Sandra), Come By Chance, Gordon (Corrina), Labrador City and Ralph (Paulette), Gander; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Rested at St. Paul’s Church, Come By Chance. Funeral service took place on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at St. Paul’s Anglican/United Church with interment at the Interfaith Cemetery, Come By Chance. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons: Donald (Linda) of Canning’s Cove, Freeman of Thailand, Joseph Jr. of Canning’s Cove; daughters: Jessie Chatman (Wilson) of Canning’s Cove, Mable Crocker of Glovertown, Minnie Roach (Reginald) of Port Blandford, Judy Pike (Hayward) of Charleston, Ada Brown of Edmonton, AB, Betty Chatman (David) of CBS, 27 Grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, daughter in law Rosalie Chatman of Canning’s Cove, son in law Lester Tucker of Clarenville; sister Jessie Jackson of Dover, step-sisters: Stella Chatman (Norm) Canning’s Cove, Evelyn Gillman of Hare Bay plus a large circle of other family and friends. Pre-deceased by her husband Joseph, son David, daughter Brenda, grandson Paul, brothers: Enas and Leslie Penney, sister Jennie Chatman and step-brother Llewellyn Penney. Funeral service was officiated by Rev. Isaac Hutchings on Tuesday Dec. 2, 2014 at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, Canning’s Cove with interment following at Anglican Church cemetery. Dear father of Valerie Mortensen and Karen Kruger (Dennis). Loving grandfather of Crystal (Chris), Mark (Samantha), Katelyn and Jamie. Great grandfather of two, Dear brother of Jim, Emily Friedrich, and Wilfred (Maude), Predeceased by his brother Max, Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, especially Joanne, Sandra, and Susan, and his extended family. , 89 of Clarenville, NF passed away peacefully on December 9, 2014 at O’Mahony Manor, Clarenville. She is survived by her children, Evelyn, Leslie and Nelson Sceviour, her three brothers, Harold, Joseph and James Butler. She is also survived by her five grandchildren. Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Predeceased by husband, Frederick Maidment, sons, Monty Charles and Dennis Walter. Leaving to Mourn daughters, Marilyn Kozody (Calgary); Sharron Dakin (Winnipeg); Son, Kristopher Maidment (St. John’s); sisters, Barbara Potter (St. John’s), Eileen Rowe (Grand Falls), Brothers; Eric Champion (Nova Scotia), Arthur Champion (Ontario). Grandchrildren, Kristin Maidment (Clarenville), Aaron Maidment (Ottawa), Kathryn Kozody (Calgary) and Dylan Dakin (Winnipeg); Great grandchildren, Ayden Maidment, Taylor Maidment, plus a large circle of family and friends. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Fewer’s Funeral Homes, Clarenville. Committal Ceremony to take place at a later date.
