VEY, Nicholas
Passed peacefully away at Dr G. B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Sunday, Nov 24, 2002, Nicholas Vey of Little Heart's Ease, aged 88 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Miriam of 63 years; daughters, Nina (Kent Fairchild) at Lemoore, California, USA and Irene (Jack Peddle) at Hodge's Cove; sons, Milton (Lawana) at Portage La Prairie, MB, Arthur (Shirley) at Orwell Cove, PEI and Kevin (Lexley) at Portage La Prairie, MB; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Little Heart's Ease. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, from Bethel United Church, Little Heart's Ease with interment at Bethel United Church Cemetery in Little Heart's Ease. In his memory donations may be made to the Bethel United Church Memorial Fund in Little Heart's Ease.

MATTHEWS,Winnifred
Passed peacefully away at Oromocto Public Hospital, New Brunswick on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, Winnifred Matthews (nee Oldford), formerly of Musgravetown, Newfoundland, aged  85 years, 11 months. Predeceased by her husband, Sylvester (1995); four brothers and three sisters. Lovingly remembered by daughter, Frances (Thomas Baikie), Oromocto, NB; granddaughter, Leanne (John Lambert), Goose Bay, Labrador; grandson, Jason, Prince Albert, SK; one brother, Clifton; sister-in-law, Ella; brother-in-law, Willis; many nieces and  nephews and many friends in Newfoundland, Goose Bay, Labrador and Oromocto, NB. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service held Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002 from Heritage United Church, Musgravetown with interment at United Church Cemetery, Musgravetown. In her memory dona­tions may be made to Heritage United Church, Musgravetown, Newfoundland, AOC 1Z0

WISEMAN, Evelyn (1921-2002), aged 81 years
It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Wiseman announce her entering into eternal rest on Monday, Nov. 25, 2002. She is predeceased by husband, Gordon (1994); daughters, Ella May (1 939)and Shirley (1997). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons, Winston (Norma), Wilfred (Georgena), Bruce (Ivy), Glenn (Linda); daughters, Florence (Leslie, deceased), Bonnie (Don), Ena (Auburn), Linda (Graham); one sister, Whilemina; one brother, Alex; 23 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral took place Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Citadel at Musgravetown with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown.

TRACEY, Rita
Passed peacefully away at Grand Falls Windsor on Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, Rita Tracey (O’Driscoll) of Plate Cove East, aged 94 years. Left to cherish her memory two sons, Richard (Maxine) and Gerald (Roberta); four daughters, Bridget (Terry), Mary, Rita (John) and Regina (Harvey); 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mary McDonald and Mary O'Driscoll; and a large circle 61 relatives and friends. Funeral mass held Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002 from St. Partick's Roman Catholic Church, Plate Cove East with interment at Roman Catholic Cemetery, Plate Cove East.
"Let the spirit linger, Even though I am gone, Hold close to each other, Keep the family unit strong."

O'Driscoll, Michael
Passed peacefully away on November 18, 2002 at G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in his 70th year. Beloved husband of 31 years to Julie. Much loved and cherished father of Melissa, St. John's, NL, and Patricia, Brampton, ON. Deeply missed by grandchildren Brent and Fabian; brothers, Jerry, Anthony, Kevin, James, Joseph and  Raymond and a large circle of family and friends. Funeral service held on November 21, 2002 at St. Patrick's Church in Plate Cove. The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Brannan and the staff at G. B. Cross in Clarenville especially Gail Benson.Also thanks to Vardy's Funeral Home for their excellent care and service at this time of sorrow.

STONE, Gilbert W.
Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Veterans Pavillion, St. John's on December 2, 2002, Gilbert W. Stone of Monroe at the age of 87. He leaves to mourn one daughter, Linda Gibbons (Florida); many nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends. Rested at the First United Church, Monroe from where the funeral took place on December 5, 2002, with internment following. Presiding minister was Reverend Brian Hannon. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

REID, Lily Pearl
At the age of 83, Lily Pearl Reid of Sunnyside, passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on December 3, 2002. She was predeceased by her husband, Theophilus; brother, Alfred Smith (Virtue); and parents, Alexander and Elizabeth Smith. She leaves to mourn one daughter, Donna (Doug Barfett); three sons, Clayton (Donna), Eric and Melvin (Joan); one daughter-in-law, Maisie; stepmother, Frances Smith; four sisters, Elizabeth (Mattie, deceased), Myrtle (Clem, deceased), Yvonne (Hubert) and Bessie (Abe); six brothers, Cecil (Dorothy), Alonzo (Janie), Albert (Bobby), Wayne (Dee-dee), Eldrid and Scott (Diane); one brother-in-law, Helomew (Via); one sister-in-law, Leah (Tom Turner); 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at the Sunnyside Pentecostal Tabernacle from where the funeral took place on December 6, 2002 with  interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

SMITH, Stephen
Passed Peacefully away on Thursday, November 28, 2002, at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, Stephen Smith, age 91, of Hodge's Cove. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Marjorie; sons, Don (Ina), Eliab (Lucy), Wilson (Beverly) Andrew (Sheila)and Roy (Valerie); daughters, Pearl (Hayward) Spurrell, Alice (George) Byrne and Wendy (Alex Benson); 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends. Rested at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Hodge's Cove from where the funeral took place on November 30 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

DRODGE, Joseph
Passed suddenly away at Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital on December 14, 2002, in his 83rd year, of Clarenville. Leaving to mourn are his wife, Winnie and his children, Mary Strong, Eva (Lindsay George), Blanche (James Peppard), Marcie (Charles Barnes), Armine Drodge (Vera), Pearl Aylward, Doris (Jerry Harris), Shirley (Gerry Murphy), Nina (Edgar King), Lorna (Robert Marche), Bonita (Gerald Hamel), Donald Drodge (Elaine), Wavey (Ronald Strong), Bernice Drodge, Rowena (Robert May) and Brenda (Darryl Stringer); 29 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; Winnie's parents Leslie and Madge Bailey; and a large circle of relatives and friends. The funeral took place from Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle. Interment followed at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Clarenville.

FAULKNER, Christine
(September 27, 1963 - December 8,2002)

It is with great sadness the family and niends of the late Christine Faulkner announce her passing at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital. She will be deeply missed by her parents, Fred and Florence Faulkner; daughters, Nichole and Jennifer; brother, Tony (Glenys); sister, Brenda (Stephen); niece, Fallon; nephews, Bradley, Dylan and Josh; special friend Doreen and her co-workers at WalMart; and a very large circle of friends. Rested at Blundons Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour. Funeral took place on Thursday, December 12, 2002, from the United Church, Shoal Harbour with interment following at the Palmer's Lane United Cemetery. Presiding minister was Rev. Brian Hannon assisted by Captain Maurice Blackler, organist Mrs. Louise Roderique. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.
