Passed Away On: 28/07/2011

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Thursday, July 28, 2011, Albert Whalen of Caplin Cove, aged 86 years. Predeceased by wife Kathleen; his parents; four brothers and two sisters. Left with fond and loving memories his daughters Audrey Stacey (Alf), Donna Peach (Dave) and Liz Stringer (Harry); grandchildren Rob (Cheryl), Jason (Jill), and Stephanie (Victor); great grandchildren Jared, Jessica, Aaron, Logan, Kaylee, Sydney and Hyllary; sister Gertie Smith (Edgar John); brother Fred (Alma); sisters-in-law June Whalen, Rose Whalen (Eldred), Lillian Smith and Marguerite Stringer (Sim); brothers-in-law Otto King and Jack Sweetapple (Chris) and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Wesley United Church, Caplin Cove. Funeral service took place on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Wesley United Church, Caplin Cove with interment at United Cemetery, Caplin Cove. In his memory donations may be made to Wesley United Church, Caplin Cove or Children's Playground Fund, Hodge's Cove

Gordon Walter Laite
Passed Away On: 30/07/2011
We regret to announce the passing of Gordon Walter Laite, age 65, from Petley, at the DR. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on July 30, 2011. Predeceased by parents, Hugh and Nina Laite and father-in-law, Fred Gosse. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife, Lorraine; children, Kerri (Ronnie Parrott) and Brian; grandchildren, Kelly and Sheridan; mother-in-law, Phyllis Gosse; brother-in-law, Ivan Gosse (Jean); niece, Cindy-Lee; great nephew, Ashton and other family and friends. A cremation took place and visitation took place at Vardy's Funeral Home on Monday, August 1, 2011. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Bursey, took place on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from the United Church, Britannia with interment following.

Passed Away On: 25/07/2011

Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista on Monday, July 25, 2011, Harold Howse of Bloomfield, aged 83 years. Predeceased by wife Lorraine; brother Gordon and parents George and Elsie. Left with fond and loving memories his children Roger Howse (Christine), Bloomfield and Dennis Holloway (Valerie), Bloomfield; sister Minnie Oldford (Gus), Bunyan's Cove; sister-in-law Florence Howse, Bloomfield; grandchildren Danielle, Nicholas, Susanne and Chad and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Lethbridge. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the Islandview Citadel, Musgravetown with interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown. In his memory donations may be made to Islandview Corp Building Fund or Parkinson Society of NL.

Lillian Ann Keough
Passed Away On: 25/07/201

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lillian Ann Keough, age 85, at the Bonavista Health Care Centre, Bonavista, on July 25, 2011. Predeceased by her husband Thomas; brothers, Edward, Clifford, Jack; sisters, Isabelle, Effie and Amelia. Leaving to mourn are David (Dottie) and Leone (Scott); grandchildren, Allie, Stephen, Kelly and Stacie .Also leaving to mourn a large number of relatives and friends. Rested at St. Patricks Roman Catholic Parish, Plate Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Father Lloyd Lugtu, took place on Friday, July 29th, 2011 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Passed away at the Golden Height Manor in Bonavista on Saturday, August 6, 2011, Mary Ann Hiscock (nee Barnes) aged 102 years and 10 months of Champney's West formerly of Coombs Cove, Fortune Bay. Predeceased by her husband Robert; a number of sisters and brothers. Left with fond and loving memories are her sons Raymond (Shirley), Ernest (Shirley) and Harvey (Shirley); 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; brother Issac Barnes (Nellie); sister-in-law Melita Barnes and a large circle of relatives and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Port Rexton. Funeral service took place on Monday, August 8, 2011 from St. Clements Anglican Church, Champney's West with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Champney's West. In her memory donations may be made to the St. Clements Anglican Church, Champney's West.

Leslie Raymond George
Passed Away On: 01/08/2011

Passed peacefully away at the DR.G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on August 1, 2011, Leslie Raymond George, age 81, from Lower Lance Cove. Predeceased by sister, Doris Walters (Dan); brothers, Lloyd, Harve (Deborah) , Cecil and grandchild, Melissa. He leaves to mourn, Raymond (Yvonne), David, Pauline (Doug Puffer) and Sherry (Mike Giroux); 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Mary), Baxter (Adelaide), Gerald (Gwen), Wilson (Sharon), Rayfield, Earl (Rebecca); sister, Gladys Wiseman (Nelson) and a large number of extended family and friends. Rested at Vardy's Funeral Home. The funeral service, officiated by Captain Reid Colbourne and Major Phyllis Reid-Colbourne, took place on Wednesday, August 3, 2001 from the Salvation Army, Hickman's Harbour with interment following at the Salvation Army cemetery, Lower Lance Cove.

Leaving to mourn are his children Jacqueline Barr, Ruth Short (William), Angela, Joan, Douglas, Deborah Vautour (Louis), Victoria (Ralph Wheaton), William, Rebeccah (Jim), Paulette Lambert (Henry) and Regina Yates (Alistaire); grandchildren Katherine, Robin, Randy (Lisa), Darrin (Heather), Tony (Wanda), Desiree, Angie, Stephen, Gordon, Justin (Donna), Rachel (John), Shannon (Dave), Dennis (Patricia), Debbie, Douglas, Jennifer, Tara, Ashley and Gerald; great grandchildren Mitchell, Makayla, Ryan, Jessica, Michael, Paige, Leah, Jackson, Kieran, Brady and Elysa; brother Angus (Winnie); sisters Lorna Macdonald (Vaughan), Joan Duffitt (Jack) and Elizabeth Muller. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from the Islandview Salvation Army Citadel, Musgravetown with interment at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown. Left with fond and loving memories sisters Phyllis Moloney, Toronto and Gladys Cameron (Jack), Toronto; brothers David Smith (Betty-deceased), Toronto and Eric Smith (Flo), Midland; special niece Barbara (Andy McIntyre); step-daughter Daphne Hunkin (Michael) and a circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville and Bethany United Church, Harcourt. Funeral service took place on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Bethany United Church with interment at United Cemetery, Harcourt.
