Passed peacefully away at Central Health Care GFW on Wednesday, March 29 2017, Wilfred James Green of Deep Bight age 92. Predeceased by son Roy, parents Newman and Maggie, brother Max, and sisters Marguerite and Blanche. Leaving to mourn his wife Florence, daughter Hazel (Dave) and grandson Trevor (Rochelle), other relatives and friends. Rested at Trinity United Church, Deep Bight. Funeral service was held from Trinity United Church Deep Bight on Sunday, April 2, 2017 with interment at Deep Bight Cemetery.

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, Barry Tucker of Bunyans Cove, aged 53 years. Predeceased by his uncle Garland Tucker and aunt Marjorie Burt. Left with fond and loving memories his parents Daniel and Sadie Tucker; brother Kevin (Ada); sister Sheila (Gary Howse); nieces Dana (Darren), Kayla (Cory) and Shelley (Keith); nephews Corey (Nicole) and Mitchell (Amy); great nieces and nephews Daniel, Devon, Ethan, Liam, Colton and Peyton; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at St. Paul’s United Church, Bunyans Cove. Funeral service took place on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Church, Bunyans Cove with interment at United Cemetery, Bunyans Cove. In his memory donations may be made to Daffodil Place, St. John’s.

Uriah (Hughie) Bailey

Passed peacefully away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Friday, March 24, 2017, Hughie Bailey of Little Hearts Ease, formerly of George’s Brook, aged 80 years. Predeceased by first wife Roma; father and mother George and Elizabeth Bailey; sister Geneva Norris; brother-in-law Rev. Edward Bailey. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Joyce of 13 years; daughters Glenda (Bob), Prince George, BC and Yvonne (Rob), George’s Brook; step-daughters Venetta (Perry), CBS, Maureen (Bill), Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Wanda, Little Hearts Ease, Darlene (Paul), Gooseberry Cove and Susan (Cordell), Little Hearts Ease; step-sons Terry (Laurie), Hodges Cove and Vernon (Kay Meadus), Little Hearts Ease; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; 15 nieces and 7 nephews; brother-in-law Stanley Norris and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer’s Funeral Home in Little Hearts Ease and Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Fewer’s Memorial Chapel, Clarenville with interment at Milton-George’s Brook Cemetery.

It with great sadness we announce the passing of Lloyd Martin of Old Mill Road (Goobies) on March 27, 2017 at age 72. Predeceased by; father Newman Martin, mother Dorothy Stringer, step-father Walter Stringer, half-brother Hayward Martin, and half-sister Nellie Vardy. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years Vinie Martin; son Kerry (Paula), and daughter Gale (Stephen); granddaughters Shannon (Chris), Dana and Jane; great grandson Blake; sister Edna (Sam) Parsons; sister-in-law Ethel Blundon and a close circle of other family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of life was held at Fewer’s Chapel on Sunday, April 2, 2017. In his memory donations can be made to the Children's Wish Foundation Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Alex of 54 years; children Bridie Guy (Harold), Josephine Barry (Maurice), Julia Walsh (Brian), Isabelle Hynes (Darrell), John (Lyn), Jeremiah (Patricia); Madonna Delaney (Brad) and Susanna Gilbert (Tony); daughter-in-law Bernice; 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters Imelda Hutchings (Bill), Bernice Boyd (Bill) and Marion Masters (Andy); brothers David (Theresa), Jerry, Emmett (Sheila), Vince (Mary), Tom and Raymond (Heather); a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rev. Elliott F. Baker

Rev. Elliott F Baker
passed into the presence of his Lord on April 3rd 2017 at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at the age of 77. Elliott was born in Northwest Brook Newfoundland on June 13, 1939. He entered the ministry in 1962 and Pastored in Newfoundland for many years. In 1982 he and his family moved to BC where he taught for many years at Western Pentecostal Bible College, now known as Summit Pacific College. Following his service at the college, Rev. Baker served on the Pastoral staff of Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly for several years before his retirement. A talented singer and guitarist, he spent a good portion of his retirement years traveling and ministering in music. Elliott leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 53 years, Blanche, two children Kris (Paulette) Baker and Telva (Phil) Merlo, as well as 5 grandchildren Billy (Christina), Jessica, Jamie, Tyrone and Kristen. Funeral services took place at Zion Pentecostal Church in his hometown of Northwest Brook in Newfoundland on April 12th at 2pm with a Memorial Service to follow at Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly on April 26th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to DMI Ministries Rev. Elliott Baker Memorial Fund.

Reginald Austin Ivany

We regret to announce the passing of Reginald Austin Ivany, age 87, from Lower Lance Cove, at St. Claire's Mercy Hospital, St, John's on April 4, 2017. Reg was born in Britannia on December 12, 1929 to Basil and Beatrice (Coish) Ivany. In 1952 Reg married Edna Penney of Hickman's Harbour and they settled in Lower Lance Cove where they raised a family. Reg was a loyal member of the L.O.L. and R.B.P Lodges, a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America and a member of the 50+ Seniors Club. Reg was predeceased by his parents: Basil and Beatrice (Coish) Ivany and wife Edna (Penney) Ivany. Reg leaves to mourn sons: Leslie (Betty), Austin (Rosena); daughters: Marilyn (Rendell), Cavell (Boyd), Janice (Jeff), Penny (Jason); 13 grandchildren: Karen, Patricia, Melissa, Natasha, Evie, Travis, Janine, David, Sarah, Meghan, Jonathan, Evan, and their families; 11 great-grandchildren: Brandon, Nathan, Chantelle, Aiden, Carter, Autumn, Jaden, Madison, Gavin, Mackenzie, and Avery; 1 great-great grandchild: Jackson; brother Leslie (Ida) Rowe; a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reg will be sadly missed. The funeral service officiated by Rev. Hann took place on April 7 from the Britannia United Church, with interment following. The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, of Frederick Faulkner, of Miscouche, aged 85 years. Born in Bona Vista, NL, he was the son of the late George and Lair (Abbott) Faulkner. Survived by his son Tony; daughter Brenda (Stephen) Cameron; grandchildren Bradley Cameron; Josh Faulkner; Fallon Faulkner (Brian "J.R." Morrissey); Nichole Bailey; Jennifer (Adrian) VanDongen; by great-grandchildren Lucy and Jack VanDongen; and River Morrissey. Predeceased by his wife Florence (Adams) Faulkner; a daughter Christine Faulkner; grandson Dylan Faulkner; sisters Minnie (Newman) Legg; and Lizzie (Les) Collins; and by a brother Eber (Janie) Faulkner. Resting at Blundon’s Funeral Home, Shoal Harbour, NL. Visiting hours Friday, April 21, 2017 from 4 - 7 p.m. Funeral Saturday, April 22, 11:00 a.m. at the United Church, Shoal Harbour, NL. It is with great sadness we announce that on April 13, 2017, Marlene Fitzgerald, age 76, dear Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, passed peacefully at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista. Predeceased by her husband, Jack Fitzgerald; parents, William and Daisy Davis; brothers, Nelson (Shirley), Fred, Berkley and Bill. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories to be forever treasured are her children, Debra, Cheryl (Ray), Jeff (Jacque) and Nicole (Bob); grandchildren, Bradley, Shanna, Shane and Shawn; great grandson, Carter (love you always, Big Nan); sisters-in-law, Joan, Stella and Rita and also a large circle of family and friends. A cremation has taken place and as per her wishes, a memorial service will be held when the beautiful garden flowers of summer surround her. A sincere thank-you to all the staff at the Golden Heights Manor in Bonavista. Your thoughtfulness, your kind words, your listening ear and your art of caring was greatly appreciated and will always be remembered.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late William T. Fifield (Bill) of Bonavista, announce his passing at St. Clares Mercy Hospital on April 19 2017 at the age of 78. Predeceased by his father George, mother Viola, and wife Betty, leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are son Rod (Michelle), daughters Susan (Larry), Nancy (Kirk), along with special companion Shirley and family. Grandchildren Ashley (Brad), Kirsten (Chris), Jade (Morgan), Mark and Blake, three great grandchildren Jordyn, Logan, and Caylin as well as other relatives and friends.
