Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on Saturday, April 2, 2016 Thomas Phillips of Burgoyne's Cove, aged 64 years. Predeceased by his parents James and Edith, sisters Emily Coish and Hilda Carberry and brother Robert. Left with fond and loving memories his sisters; Dorcas Penney of Burgoyne's Cove, Louisa Phillips of Burgoyne's Cove, Alma Wiseman of Burgoyne's Cove, Gladys Compagnion of Toronto, ON.; brother Cecil (Betty) of Fort McMurray, AB.; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville and the Anglican Church, Burgoyne's Cove. Funeral Service took place on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Anglican Church, Burgoyne's Cove with interment at the Anglican Cemetery, Burgoyne's Cove.

: It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Hubert Green, age 84 years, 11 months, at the Dr. Albert O'Mahony Manor, Clarenville on April 2, 2016. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his wife, Florence; children, Bryan (Rose), Lorne (Cindy) and Brenda; grandchildren, Bryan (Erin), Deidra (Chris), Elliott, Zachary and Krystal; great grandchildren, Rory, Owen, Brooklynn and Sydney; brothers, Ned (Ruby), Winston, Roy (Eileen); sisters, Annie, Melvie (Dick) and Marina and also many other relatives and friends. Passed peacefully away at his home in Old Bonaventure on Monday, April 4, 2016, Louis Melanson, aged 57 years. Predeceased by parents Louis and Odille. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Yvonne; son Jeremy (Linda) and Joshua (Jackie); grandchildren Alexia, Brady and Megan; companion Sadie; sister Yvette (Hubie), Joanne (Carl) and Sister Pat; brothers Greg (Annie), Roger (Flo) and Tommy (Barbara); sister-in-law Donna (Richard); brothers-in-law Roger (Jody) and Cliff (Wendy); mother-in-law Marie Cooper; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Fewer's Memorial Chapel, Clarenville.

Colin Alexander Greening

Passed away at Dr. G B Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, April 4, 2016, Colin Greening of Port Blandford, aged 73 years. Predeceased by parents Edward and Ida Greening; brothers Jackson, Ray and Hector; sisters Pearl and Ida. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Ann of 47 years; daughter Kelly; son Neil, daughter-in-law Tammy, son Glenn; two precious granddaughters Sarah and Katie; sisters Patsy and Pansy (Jim); sister-in-law Glenis; and a large circle of family and friends, including two grand dogs Wyatt and Izzy . Cremation has taken place. Funeral service was held on Friday, April 8, 2016 from Alton United Church, Port Blandford with interment at United Cemetery, Port Blandford. Passed peacefully away at her home in Bloomfield on Sunday, April 3, 2016, Ivy Holloway, aged 70 years. Predeceased by parents John and Ruth Skiffington; brothers Hubert, Harry and Irving. Left with fond and loving memories her husband Albert of 54 years; daughters Dolores (Wayne), Verna (Everett) and Diane (Owen); sons John, Robert (Michelle), Clayton (Pauline), Jim, Rodger (Sherry), Andy (Amy), Kevin (Regina) and Wallace (Nancy); 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Sheila and Yvonne (Leander); and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Salvation Army Citadel, Musgravetown. Funeral service took place on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Salvation Army Citadel, Musgravetown with interment at Salvation Army Cemetery, Musgravetown

Passed peacefully away at Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista, on April 6, 2016, Almond Bowen, Southern Bay, at the age of 93 years. She leaves to mourn with precious memories, two sons: Maurice (Samina) and Roger (Jenelyn) Bowen; six daughters: Selina Parsons (Arch), Dee Bowen (Bob), Ella Penney (Lin), Effie Silveira (Manny), Gwen Keeping, and Verna Bowen (Doug); 25 grandchildren: Peter, Steven, Jimmy; Vicki, Corey, Roger; Jennifer, Jeffrey, Erin; Sonya, Melissa, Krista, Nathan; Adam, Justin; Andrea, Evan, Sara, Jasmine, Kristofer, Garin, William; Michelle, Lindsay; and Michael; 26 great-grandchildren: Dustin, Joel, Colby; Tiernan; Katharine; Reece, Kade, Chloe, Matthew; Sutherland, Sydney, Samantha, Vanessa, Ashtyn; Allison, Mark; Brendan, Anthony, Emily; Liam, Maeve; Rebecca, Felicity, Mason; Jordyn and Cord; two great-great grandchildren: Annabella and Emma; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Funeral services took place on April 9, 2016 at St. Thomas' Anglican Church, Charleston, with interment at St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Southern Bay. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Vardy's Funeral Home, Random Island.

Amy Tobin
Amy Iris (Reid) Tobin (born in Lady Cove), age 84 years, 4 months, passed away peacefully at the G. B. Cross Hospital, Clarenville, on April 2, 2016. Predeceased by her husband Ronald Tobin, companion Samuel Parsons, parents Wallace & Rosie Reid, her brothers Ron, Heman, Allan, Clayton, and her sisters Viola, Marjorie. Left to mourn with many fond memories are her children: Joel (Tori), Hedley (Evelyn), Marjorie (Robert), Marilyn; Grandchildren: David (Mila), Scott (Pam), Brian (Sonia), Darryl, Shane (Nancy); Great-Grandchildren: Liam, Sammy, Dexter, Kirill, Hayley, Tyler, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Kole; Brothers: Ern (Maude), Wilf (Lynn Ann), Rick (Cindy); Sisters: Elsie, Ivy (Bram), Minnie, Phyllis (Warren), Linda (Allister), Betty (Calvin), Nellie (Mike), as well as, a large number of relatives and dear friends. Rested at the United Church, Lady Cove from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Donna Hann, took place on Thursday, April 7, 2016 with interment following in Lady Cove. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at G. B. Cross Hospital who cared for Amy in her last days and hours with a special thank you to Dr. Geleidi, Nurses Abhilash, Julia & Nicole; to the Total Care staff; to Kim Hansford and everyone at Vardy's Funeral Home for their compassionate care of our loved one; to Reverend Hann for her words of consolation and inspiration, to the Lady Cove UCW for the refreshments at the Church Hall, to everyone who called at the church to say farewell and support the family through this very difficult time, to everyone that sent flowers and food and to those who donated to the Lady Cove United Church Memorial Fund and to everyone that passed along their condolences by email and phone. Predeceased by grandparents William John and Laura Dean & Arch and Betty Watton. Left with fond and loving memories her parents Allan and Meta; sisters Angela (Shawn), Jennifer (Scott) and Jackie (Paul); nieces and nephews Meghan, Taylor and Cody; and a large circle of family and friends.
