Passed peacefully away at St. Vincent's Nursing Home in Halifax, NS, on March 17, 2015, Joan Hart at the age of 69 years, formerly from Clarenville. Joan is predeceased by her husband Aubrey Hart. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children, Arlene (Terry), Deanne (Sandy), Danette (Les), JJ (Debbie) and Nicole (Mike); her grandchildren, Santana, Samarra, Jessica, Jennifer, Megan and Kayley as well as her brothers and sisters.

Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on March 27, 2015, Clarence James Smith, age 94, from Elliott's Cove. Predeceased by his parents, Roland and Emma; wife Jenny; brother, Harvey and sisters, Jean and Gladys. Leaving to mourn with many fond memories are a large circle of nieces, nephews, friend, Sarah Phillips and other family and friends. Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John's on Monday, March 23, 2015, Brenda Barnes (Bartlett) of Goose Cove, T. Bay, aged 63 years. Predeceased by her husband Reuben Barnes and parents William and Mabel Bartlett. Left with fond and loving memories her sisters Glenda Verge, Pickle Lake, ON, Bernice Gibbons (Truman), Trinity and Diane Shears (Jim), Churchill Falls; brother Derek Bartlett (Madonna), Trinity; brother-in-law Cluney Barnes (Patsy), Dunfield; also leaving with loving memories five nieces and seven nephews; and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Trinity. Funeral service took place on Friday, March 27, 2015 at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Trinity with interment at St. Matthew's Cemetery, Trouty. In her memory donations may be made to the Arthritis Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The family of the late Rancefield Chatman, age 77, from Cannings Cove, regrets to announce his sudden passing at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on April 1, 2015. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Sarah Chatman; wife, Minnie; brothers, Roland and Raymond; sisters, Rosie (Albert John) and (baby sister) Ella. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are his daughters, Norma (Terry Penney) and Bonnie (Mike Chatman) and son, Corey (Melisa); brother, Ralph (Alice); sisters-in-law, Joy Chatman and Lucy Skiffington; grandchildren, Mark, Melissa (Christopher), Samantha (Jon), Colby, CJ, Maraya; great grandchildren, Kurt, Emma, Lexie , Ashton and many other relatives and friends. A grandmother to Debbie (Stephen), Shawn (Liz), Tracy (Damon), Terry (Yvette), Joanne, Cheryl (Brad), Trevor (Marybeth), Mitchell (Nina), Jarrod, Ryan (Hillary), Leanne (Steve), Mark, Jacob (Jen), Stephen, Jocelyn, Jonathan, Cassidy, Reilly and Jackson. Former resident of Clarenville, Carrie Trask passed peacefully away in Langley, British Columbia on March 9, 2015, aged 93 years. Predeceased by husband Claude and brothers Augustus and Titus. Left with loving memories are daughters Ruby (Harry) and Jean (Sam); granddaughters Natalie (Garry), Tanya, and Nicole (Jason); and great granddaughter Sierra all of British Columbia, and a large number of family in Baie Verte, Newfoundland, and Ontario. Interment will be in the United Church Cemetery, Clarenville, in September 2015.

Predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Mary Ellen, wife Lettie; daughter, Marie; brothers, Herbert, Stanley, Montgomery and Robert; sisters, Melvina, Edna and Ruby; niece, Beverley and mother-in-law, Edith Chaulk. Leaving to mourn are his loving wife of 37 years, Myrtle; children, Robert, Shelly (Joe) and Sherry (Terry); grandchildren, Paula (David), Chris (Nicole), Janeen (Darren), Mark (Samantha), Jessica and Terri-Lynn; great grandchildren, Alieyah, Nicholas, Savannah, Austin and Corbin; sisters, Ivy (John) and Roberta; sister-in-law, Jane; brother-in-law, Gordon; father-in-law, Rex Chaulk; 13 brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Calvin Miller
Born: October 29th, 1949
Passed on: April 4th, 2015

Passed suddenly away on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Left with wonderful memories are loving wife Eileen, mother Josephine, children; Stephen (Karla), Bradley (Michelle), Kristi Lynn, step daughter Trena (Hank), grandchildren; Landon & McKinley, brothers; Don (Dora) & Garry, Mother in law Louise, Brothers in law, Sisters in law and a large circle of family & friends, including his brothers and sisters in UA Local 740. Calvin is predeceased by father Arthur in 1988. Calvin was born October 29, 1949 and enjoyed his early life playing along the shores of Old Bonaventure. As a teen he studied his trade, overseas in England, under the guidance of his uncle Cyril Toope. Calvin worked hard his entire life, up until his untimely death. An avid outdoorsman, he will be most remembered enjoying his time off berry picking, hunting and fishing, canoeing, snowmobiling & biking to the cabin, enjoying the preferred lifestyle that his boyhood home has to offer. Funeral service took place on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from St. John Anglican Church in New Bonaventure with Rev. Robert C. Oldford presiding. Interment followed at the Anglican Cemetery in Old Bonaventure.
Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they have brought to our lives.

Passed suddenly away at the Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on Monday, April 6, 2015, Eric Hunt of Clarenville, aged 71 years. Predeceased by his brothers Fred and Albert. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Cavell of 30 years. Son Steven, sisters; Inez Adey and Murial Revees, brother Carl Hunt (Jean), nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Rested at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service took place 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment at the United Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. Predeceased by his father Albert and uncle Wilf Holloway. Passed away peacefully at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on April 23rd 2015, after a courageous battle with ALS Phyllis Reid age 71 years. Left with loving memories are her husband John, sons Lewis (Sharon) Northcott of Fort McMurray, AB, Terry (Shelley) Northcott of Corner Brook, NL, daughter Jennifer (Kevin) Hiscock of Gander, NL, brother Ralph Beaton of Kitchener, ON, sisters Pansy Norris of Gander, NL, Bernice (Len) Parsons of Gander, NL, grandchildren Mark Northcott, Jacob, Rachel Hiscock, Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Rested at Stacey's Funeral Home on Friday, April 24th, Rested at Fewers Funeral Home, Lethbridge, on Sunday, April 26th. Predeceased by her husband Peter Cholock, parents Blanche and Edgar Stanley, brothers; Fred, Baxter, Howard, Freeman, Gerald, and Eddie, sisters-in-law; June, Mabel and Vi. Left with fond and loving memories her son Chick (Roz), of Clarenville, grandchildren; Mitzi (Claude), Peter (Tanya), Todd (Tracey), Richard (Donna), great grandchildren; Joe Jeddry, Bowie Jeddry, Ella Jeddry, Jesslyn Cholock, Kylie Cholock, Brandon LeBlanc-Little, Keagan Cholock, Andrew Cholock, Kris Cholock, Braedon Byrnes, Lauren LeBlanc, Quinn LeBlanc, Drew LeBlanc, and her feline friend & companion - Coy , brother Eric (Vinie) of Clarenville, sisters-in-law Doris and Edna, God Child; Julia Russell and a large circle of family and friends. Cross Hospital and staff at Fewer's Ambulance and Funeral Home. Geneva lived her life being guided by her dreams and passion to love and learn. Following her career path as a restauranteur, retailer, photographer, editor, publisher, reporter, hairdresser and forever learning and loving the arts of painting, writing and music. Known as a historian she would entertain those around her with stories of the early years in Clarenville or of her adventures traveling the world.
